Lyra 1 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "American Cancer Society Spokesperson" 12-14-04, 11:39 PM (EST) "John your yellow is not mellow!" This guy is an abuser! I can't stand the way he is constantly treating his wife, the yelling, the abuse, and tonight he actually hit her! Enough. This guy has to go. He's done such a number on her she can't even see what's happening. Let's hope she does get smart before he gets the kids he wants. Shudder the thought!   Top

Watching Jon w/ his wife was seriously disturbing. I had never been so saddend watching a reality show before. The guy is pathetic and needs help and I hope watching himself on tv makes him realize that. Also, how much worse does it get before the production team intervenes more than just suggesting they talk? Im not sure how I feel about the producers resposibility in this matter.   Top

I have never EVER been so disgusted and shocked watching one of these shows. To see the way that poor woman absolutely broke down trying to carry both backpacks because Jonny boy was too tired to run with his. He screamed at her through the entire episode at every turn, but when it was HIS turn to hussle? He drops all his belongings to be stolen just so that he can be be a single minute quicker in checking in. Unfortunately, I don't see any way for CBS to punish him without punishing Victoria as well. And believe me, any penalty that they take because of this or similar incidents will just end up causing more abuse to be heaped on poor Victoria. Thank GOD they don't have any kids together. I hope that Victoria gets out before it is too late. He is violent, mean, hurtful, disrespectful and doesn't seem to ever do anything to lift her up. Disgusting, dispicable and just plain awful. At least I know a special place is being prepared in hell for that SOB.   Top

This was particularly upsetting to me, especially as this was such a significant and touching episode. To have it end with Jonothan's outburst was something I had a hard time with. I really have to question the need to find these bickering couples and why people seem to gravitate towards them. This is what everyone imagines but as long as its not seen it doesn't exist. Well tonight we received confirmation that this type of bickering includes physical abuse. I know people will say "he just shoved her" but that is just a stepping stone. Frankly I would like to see them removed. I think this show is above this and its just too disappointing to have to watch as this couple will further degenerate regardless of their position in the race. Victoria needs help and I am just to distressed to pretend I can overlook this and know that when this is over he will use this race a freaking game show race on TV to further humiliate and debase her. I feel as if I am somehow cooperating in domestic violence by absentia.   Top

He was in such a quandry what to do when they arrived at the mat that Phil was speechless for a bit. Well, that scene, combined with all the others, will make for good testimony at the divorce hearing. She needs to get out - NOW! But she won't. Everyone is entitled to my opinion.   Top

I had a serious issue with tonight's show too and will be writing to the producers and other head honchos about it. To be allowed to do what he did and not get ANYTHING said about except by Jeff... at the very least there should have been some penalty for his behavior, being moved to last place or a time out like what happened to the team that screwed up on one of the other shows. I am truly saddened by his behavior and hope that his wife, when she watches the show, realises what a jerk he really is and leaves his a** sitting in a corner crying. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Karma doesn't come back on people because some universal controller-god pushes buttons. It comes back on people because they dig holes for themselves to fall into.   Top

Jon for hitting and verbally abusing his wife, CBS for not stepping in and telling him he may not put his hands on anybody while they are on the show, or Victoria, for not cracking the a$$hole back (I know this isn't the way to solve problems, but speaking for myself, i would have been pi$$ed had he laid a hand on me).   Top

First time poster but after seeing this episode I had to comment. This guy has to qualify as the biggest a-hole in reality TV history. As I guy I just regretted that I couldn't have been on that mat to smack him down after what he did. Who knew that someone could come along that makes last year's Colin seem level-headed?? If there were a reality-TV god the next episode would play out as follows: Jonathon and Victoria head out and blow away the competition....all seems kosher until they are 200 yards from the finish and well in the lead. At that point Victoria stops and takes a seat. She refuses to budge until the remaining six teams have passed them (all the while Jonathon is blowing a gasket). After the last team passes she gets up and walks to the mat to hear Phil tell them they are eliminated. The show ends with her stating that her pride is worth way more than $1 million dollars.   Top

My thought on this disgusting guy is this, if he talks and treats his wife like this while he knows that people are watching can you imagine what happends behind closed doors. He is disturbing and I think that the producers should step in and say something if not ask them politely to leave the show, Under no circumstances should the contestant hit anyone in anger not other teams or their own. He is verbally abusive for sure, and physically I have seen him raise his hands on quite a few occasions and then think better of it, I guess the producers are waiting for him to haul off and hit her before they actually do anything about this. I was more than a little disturbed, and I know some people watch this show with their kids well with him on it, it's no longer a G rating. This guy needs to go, even if they don't lose a leg of the race they should be in counseling this is not going to help their marriage.   Top

The issue with that is that if they are kicked out of the race he will twist it in his mind that it is her fault. Although I fear that whenever they get eliminated that will be the case. One disturbing thing about Jonathan is that he doesn't yell or scream -- he actually SCREETCHES. What an out-of-control jerk. But sadly, IMHO, SeeBS will not disqualify them. As others have said, they make "good TV" (whatever the Firetruck that means). I can't see them envoking the rule about physical contact with racers. Unless Victoria actually quits (as suggested earlier) we'll just have to wait for them to come in last. And Victoria will not quit, out of fear of Jonathan's wrath. Blame the producers, but it's not the network's fault. I doubt anyone on the network found out about this until after the race was over and the show completed. At that point, what could the network do? Completely alter the events as they took place? That would work for a scripted show, but not this. The producers were the folks who had the control to disqualify them while the race was being run. You know the difference between you and me? I make this look good.   Top
