"RE: 03/20 Episode Discussion" It was really hard to watch, but it was a great episode. Najai's daughter was adorable and it was obvious how much she meant to him. So sad. I just couldn't stop thinking about what must have gone on in that car for him to want to leave his daughter behind. Just devastating. The fight was great (what we saw of it). I thought both fighters' 'stories' were great and I wanted to root for both of them. Najai looked fantastic at times. Not much of a defensive fighter, though (at least not from the little clips we've seen). Sergio was pretty intense in the ring (moreso than I expected). He just pummeled Najai in the final round (from what we were shown, anyway). I'd really be interested in seeing the rounds in their entireity (I thought they usually showed more of the actual fight in previous episodes, but I imagine they might have cut some of the fight in order to pay tribute to Najai after the episode). I could really do without the slow-mo effects mid-blow (then again, this isn't supposed to be a show for boxing fans, like myself so I guess it makes sense to include that stuff for the 'average' viewer). On a side note, I really wish I'd have caught last week's episode/fight. I love Ishe. I hadn't realized it at the start of the season (I love boxing, but I don't keep up with it as much as I'd like to in terms of following rankings and such), but now I'm certain I've seen him on Friday night Fights at some point. I try to watch FNFs whenever I can, and I know that's where I've seen Ishe (v. Estrada in July '03). Got blog?   Top

I couldn't cut loose cuz' I had company, but believe me I had a big lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. That was some sad sh*t. He seemed like a cool, low-key kinda' dude. He'd been through a lot as it was. A lot of people wouldn't or couldn't have done what he did in carrying the mantle for his family after his moms died. He never had a chance to fully adjust mentally, keep pace with all those things. It can be overwhelming and just one day everything hits you out the blue. It's too bad he had a gun in his presence when it did. Rest in Peace Najai   Top

Kinda looked (to me) like Burnett was building to a Peter-Anthony rematch. The extra clips hint that Joey can't fight, because his hamstring is still sore, and that the West (led by Ishe) won't let their remaining teammates take easy fights.   Top
