1. "RE: HawkEye 10 - Episode 6"
1. The teams visited both the Center of Creation Chamber and
the Mound of Creation at Karnak. How did these >two sites inspire the teams to get creative on this leg of the race?

For the most part, they didn't: with the exception of Chip & Kim, all of the Racers seem to be immune to historical wonder. On the other hand, we did learn that Brandon's fear of warm crevasses extends into terror around Mounds Of Creation and Centers Of Creation, which probably shouldn't have come as a surprise to anyone. It's all the same category, after all.

(If anyone gets that, I'm probably dead.)

2. What did Marshall remind you of as he hobbled through
Egypt?

Osten.

I can't wait to see Skiver's answer to this one, though. Probably something brilliant about US policy in the Middle East.

3. How could Colin and Mirna have handled the cab situation
differently?

Moved the backpacks to the passenger seat and allowed Charla & Mirna to ride in the trunk.

4. Where did the fruit that Linda and Karen were selling
come from?

You mean they didn't steal it from the pit stop? Then the fruit must have come from the stock Brandon's been storing in his loins. It's not as if Nicole's been enjoying any of it, and Brandon does respect his elders, so...

5. I loved Mirna's pop-psych evaluation of Colin. Choose a
racer and give him/her a pop-psych evaluation.

Mirna obviously suffers from unresolved control issues which sprung from having to wait in a Customs line as a young baby, giving her an urge to make everything in the universe move faster than entry paperwork. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem, as virtually everything in the universe already moves faster than entry paperwork, but given that she's also slightly delusional, her issues have no choice but to manifest vocally.

In other words, if she says 'Go faster, Charla!' one more time, we're allowed to lock her up for her own protection.

6. Fill in the blanks. Load 10 sheep or goats into a particular fine specimen of Phil's sweaters and take it to a newly-opened massage parlor which uses interesting wool and hoof techniques across the country's border, because it's not quite legal in Egypt yet and Phil isn't willing to wait for the next leg.

7. What was the deal with Colin and Brandon riding the
donkeys while Christie and Nicole walked alongside?

Chemistry. Like attracts to like. Members of the same species. There's a word I'm trying to avoid here: can you guess what it is?

Besides, with Brandon, if Joseph and Mary could do it...

How did this give evidence of the accuracy of Mirna's pop-psych eval. of C&C?

Under Egyptian law, donkeys may only give evidence in court in matters of childbirth. (It's a strange law, but it's got some serious precedent.)

8. Chip was thrilled and amazed to have gone from South
Central LA to the Nile River. What location other than the Nile River could have given Chip a greater contrast to South Central LA?

The Ganges River. It's considered to be a sacred location by a very large number, territory to be warred over every day. Thousands of people congregate along the banks, creating severe overcrowding. Wearing the wrong outfits can get you killed by those with other beliefs in a painful hurry. And it's absolutely filthy.

9. How did Charla know which sheep was "The Bad One"?

If you'd spent your entire life growing up around Mirna and weren't qualified to pick out a bad seed after that experience... oh, you said sheep! No idea. She was probably just guessing.

10. No one knew what a scarab was. Colin mistook
it for a sword. Choose another symbol of ancient Egypt and name what the racers might mistake it for.

Colin, ankh, dwarf-tossing handle. You just know he's hoping for a jump to Australia.

Mirna, ankh, snowshoe. Because Egypt's just so cold in the winter.

Kami, ankh, symbol of the ancient Egyptian Goths. And look at all that black eyeshadow on the hieroglyphs! Didn't they have any cool kids back then?

Linda, ankh, salad tong. But she'll be happy to sell it to you for the low price of one cabfare to the wrong airport.

Chip, ankh, scarab lasso. Now that he knows what they look like and that they were sacred, his mind will naturally turn to how they were caught.

Brandon, ankh, runs screaming in terror. That's odd...

LAST EDITED ON 08-13-04 AT 06:20 PM (EST)

1. The teams visited both the Center of Creation Chamber and the Mound of Creation at Karnak. How did these two sites inspire the teams to get creative on this leg of the race?
Colin was so confused at Karnak. He kept looking for Ed and Johnny. (Remembering the classic line "siss boom bahh!")?

2. What did Marshall remind you of as he hobbled through Egypt?
Toss up between Grandpa McCoy and Festus.

3. How could Colin and Mirna have handled the cab situation differently?
By playing "Rock, Paper, Scissors" (in keeping with the mental age -- combined that is -- of the teams).

4. Where did the fruit that Linda and Karen were selling come from?
Unknown to the other teams, the Bowling Moms actually did use the Yield -- on themselves ... and it involved a visit to The Garden of Eden.

5. I loved Mirna's pop-psych evaluation of Colin. Choose a racer and give him/her a pop-psych evaluation.
Charla is suffering from a Messiah Complex, and has asked Brandon and Nicole to stop praying during her nap time.

6. Fill in the blanks. Load 10 sheep or goats into a taxi and take it to a Yellow Yield Sign across the street. Oh nevermind, nobody's going to use the Yield anyway.

7. What was the deal with Colin and Brandon riding the donkeys while Christie and Nicole walked alongside? How did this give evidence of the accuracy of Mirna's pop-psych eval. of C&C?
A real astonishing assesment without assuming facts not in evidence!

8. Chip was thrilled and amazed to have gone from South Central LA to the Nile River. What location other than the Nile River could have given Chip a greater contrast to South Central LA?
What really amazed Chip was seeing a river that actually had water in it. The L.A. River (seen in the classic "THEM!", home to giant mutant ants) is a cemented-over waterless valley that serves no purpose other than providing refuge to the homeless. Unless, that is, there was some rain, when it becomes a white-water death-trap for ohh.. 15 minutes or so...

9. How did Charla know which sheep was "The Bad One"?
It was the one that looked just like her "doctoro".

10. No one knew what a scarab was. Colin mistook it for a sword. Choose another symbol of ancient Egypt and name what the racers might mistake it for.
Asp -- What Colin thought he was riding on.
Anhk -- Kami and Karli thought it was the key to the ladies' room.
Great Pyramid -- Chara and Mirna kept looking for the casino.
The Library at Alexandria -- Karen and Linda went there instead of going to the pit stop at the Sphinx ... twice!
Aswan Dam -- Christie's curse towards Mirna after the taxi "incident".
Suez Canal -- Where, according to Colin, Noah Webster parted the waters.
Valley of the Kings -- Where Chip and Kim went to watch the NBA team from Sacremento.
Cleopatra's Needle -- What Marshall used to sew up Lance's torn shorts after sliding down to the Chamber of Creation on his tookas.

1. The teams visited both the Center of Creation Chamber and the Mound of Creation at Karnak. How did these two sites inspire the teams to get creative on this leg of the race?
Funnily enough, it didn't.

2. What did Marshall remind you of as he hobbled through Egypt?
The world's oldest man with hemerroids

3. How could Colin and Mirna have handled the cab situation differently?
Colin could have dragged Moaner from the cab by her hair.

4. Where did the fruit that Linda and Karen were selling come from?
From the Eating phase of the Pit Stop

5. I loved Mirna's pop-psych evaluation of Colin. Choose a racer and give him/her a pop-psych evaluation.
Moaner herself is down on everyone around her because while she imagines she is the envy of all who look upon her, some tiny corner of her mind knows she's kidding herself and so all must pay.

6. Fill in the blanks. Load 10 sheep or goats into a van and take it to a sheep dipper across the billabong

7. What was the deal with Colin and Brandon riding the donkeys while Christie and Nicole walked alongside? How did this give evidence of the accuracy of Mirna's pop-psych eval. of C&C?
What do you mean? It was much harder to balance on those donkeys AND hold the pitcher of water. Those girls had it easy. "Moaner" is an idiot.

8. Chip was thrilled and amazed to have gone from South Central LA to the Nile River. What location other than the Nile River could have given Chip a greater contrast to South Central LA?
Beverly Hills?

9. How did Charla know which sheep was "The Bad One"?
He kept going off for secret conferences with the other sheep.

10. No one knew what a scarab was. Colin mistook it for a sword. Choose another symbol of ancient Egypt and name what the racers might mistake it for.
AAcccck I don't know. Sorry.

1. The teams visited both the Center of Creation Chamber and the Mound of Creation at Karnak. How did these two sites inspire the teams to get creative on this leg of the race?

"...and on the Seventh Day, Marshall and Lance said, 'f*** it'."

3. How could Colin and Mirna have handled the cab situation differently?

Colin tells the driver, "my loud little friend here just volunteered to pay our fare."

8. Chip was thrilled and amazed to have gone from South Central LA to the Nile River. What location other than the Nile River could have given Chip a greater contrast to South Central LA?

Donald Trump's apartment.

9. How did Charla know which sheep was "The Bad One"?

It had three side-by-side curls of wool that formed perfect numeral sixes.
