I agree KO - I think he is playing a very smart game - If as suggested by voted off players the alliance was formed on Day 1 - why work go the extra mile - he was in a majority alliance - save his energy for II. When the swap happened he had no choice but to show he was useful. This MAY be one of the reasons the so call alliance tumble after the merge - Chris is no dummy - he can tell that Rory is out doing himself now as compared to before.

That shot of Lopevi cheering looks very similar to last night's reward challenge where they were told they were getting steaks If you notice, Chad has his hat on during the ss challenge but not wearing one in this picture Edited to add photo in question

I strongly believe it's a Yasur sweep this week. Why stick in an old shot of Lopevi happy? Cause Lopevi's got nothing to be happy about in ep 7. They lose both challenges. The crying pics I believe are because Yasur gets letters from home as part of the reward. That's the extra reward in addition to sustenance. Perhaps the threats this week are John saying he won't help win the challenges if they don't bring him in to the alliance? Note the pic of Sarge looking like he's ready to kill somebody above. That's one of the few scenarios I can come up with to explain how Lopevi loses a physical challenge. Just my thoughts.

Yes - Chris has his hands on his hips - I also think he is upset seems to be looking forward while everyone else seems to be look toward the girls. Either the course is U shaped and the 1 person from Lopevi missing is way behind or way ahead - my guess is Lopevi is way behind and maybe Chris messed up. The shots of Yasur crying I think are all after they win award. Lopevi is happy about hearing what the reward is but you dont see any pictures of them crying. Either that or they are all crying about losing again - but the tan in the background of some of these shots look like the usual video "hut". But this reward does not usually happen until after the merge so I could be way way way off.

Yes BR...upon my first reading I took that to mean they got much needed confidence...I just don't know what Lopevi would get that would mean as much as if Yasur wins RC...what else does Lopevi get--a caffeine high like Kathy and Colby in AllStars??But I can see how the RC loss could make Yasur sad...but what else could make Yasur sad---and why is Scout crying--could she have a tiff with Ami over the Lisa vote??

Yes - but the reason I think they win is because the background of the jumping for joy is not the same as the tan background. I almost think that they tell them ok - you get coffee and say choc or something. Take them to the "coffee shop" and surprise them with the "More than sustanance"(sorry for the spelling) of hearing from home.

So I'm usually wrong with my guesses and cannot explain the "hut" in the background of the crying pictures with my theory, but here is what it looks like to me.
Firstly I'm assuming the relay is for reward and they are going back and forth between the two mats (we cannot see Yasur's other mat). I think Twila and Chad have already ran and John is running in cap 25 where Eliza is ahead of him. Leaving Chris to run against Leann in the fourth leg and then Julie running against a weak Yasur for the final leg. I think we are seeing the part where Julie passes and wins in cap 38 if you notice they are all in the same clothing and order they would have ran in. In cap 36 you see them getting given their reward with Julie and Lea now joining the rest of the group. She would be standing next to Chad in front of John and Lea next to her if they ran up and joined the group from that side.
Like I said, I'm usually wrong, but that is what I read from these caps.

Another reason I'm leaning toward a Lopevi loss is Sarges body language - Although he is not slumping he is definately not "cheering". Now I can only say this about myself - but when my team is down I usually lean forward on my knees - kinda like he is doing.

Caps 1 and 3 show Rory looking very happy, wired almost, as though he may have some outside stimulent in his system, coffee. Cap 3 is out of place and is showing Yasur leaving the previous TC. It is way too early in the show to have videos or letters from home, that is usually done after the merge. But what about the newspapers that SEG was getting from the hometowns? We know they asked for Rory's, which other ones were there? If it was only people from Yasur, then I would say that clinches it that Yasur wins reward. Maybe the tears are because they find out that one of the casualties over in Iraq was a close friend of one of the Yasur tribe and they all share in his/her grief. Or maybe somebody just had a baby or something. I am pretty sure that caps 37/38 are recycled from the IC last episode. The plate breaking challenge is for IC because the SeeBS stated that the grueling challenge brought reward and breaking plates is not grueling. Fueled by sustenance beyond coffee and bagels, Yasur wins as Rory dominates. I agree with those leaning toward a Yasur sweep this week.

I had completely forgotten about the newspaper requests. There were several things that bothered me. I just dont see anything making Rory cry but news from home. Yasur is way to depressed to be that happy unless they won something. It just seems to early for family stuff but as previously stated that was the only thing that would make Rory cry IMHO. I am hoping it is not news about a soldier but could just be any news from home.

Actually I know it.
Then again, I've also been suprised more than once this season. . The only thing is darn DabneyDowner again rears his fat head and says. "Tell them all(you) that they(production) collected over 30 "local papers" to distribute upon reward challenge win time".

I'm going to re-watch again BUT I could have sworn those pictures focusing on Julie looking very happy were also from last week; I think from the pig challenge in fact. Therefore, I would wipe the slate clean with focusing on who is happy and who isn't except for the tearful pictures as they appear to be the only ones that have any validity. In my limited opinion, the fact that Mark Burnett is inundating us with pictures of Lopevi looking very happy at challenges is the misdirection he is trying to convey for us to believe they win.

Also obviously the pictures of the work around camp. These pictures are obviously designed to demonstrate how hard everyone is working except John K. I don't even believe that picture of Rory and Ami is authentic. Rory and Ami look strange and almost spliced together in that picture. If you recall, Rory was highlighted a lot in his confessionals Thursday night and a multitude of them showed him laughing and smiling. I will look again but I would not be hard pressed to believe that the cut and paste people put that picture together; it doesn't "look" right to me. Also, while I can't be positive, I seem to recall that shot of Lea from a prior episode looking angry like that and it probably had to do with Rory but I'm not positive While I see where you are analyzing your thoughts pm (and as always very very astute ones!) I think it is just as conceivable to believe that someone would be crying if they DON'T get a reward that involved communication from their loved ones. Rory and Scout's tears could be as much about losing that connection to their home life as winning it.

KO, your sequence of events certainly fits. And it is very suspicious that the only happy pictures of the Lopevi's are recycled from last weeks episode when they were indeed happy. Sure looks as though it is, believe it or not, a Yasur sweep!!! I definately think cap 1 and 3 look as though they could be on a caffeine high, and the newspaper reward most definately fits. The producers most certainly would have had to gather papers from all of the remaining Survivors for this reward to work, as they would'nt be able to predict who would win so far in advance.
Nor would they be able to predict who would be voted off in the previous week before the reward....it fits! It feels good to be this comfortable with the challenge winners this EARLY in the week, not like the last two weeks!

You're definately right about all the misdirection about the challenges...MB wants us to believe Yasur is once again in trouble and that Lopevi wins. There's no real reason to use misdirection about John if we believe Lopevi wins the IC.

The Teeter-Totter element may require them to walk up one side and balance, as they shift their weight to the other side until it drops to the ground. As you point out, this definately involves balance and therefore favors the tribe without a majority of men, and the tribe without Chris...this probably explains how Lopevi loses.

If you look at the crying vidcaps, the shots of Rory and Scout are taken head on, while the shot of Ami is a profile taken from the side...I think the "video shack" is a structure that is open on the sides and in the Ami shot we see the greenery out the open sides of the structure. While it could be back at camp, with a sweep of the challenges and Ami in control of the majority alliance, there's really no other reason for her to cry unless it's "tears of joy".

Wouldn't go that far emydt, how about "borderline OK?" LOLHere is another cap taken just a few frames earlier on Scout's left eye.
It sort of confirms the image on her right lens. Since it sure looks like a TV screen, and we have a lot of tears flowing, I don't know how much of a leap it is to call it a video from home. It is early, but it is good TV. Maybe they asked the love ones for a short segment, then a longer one for later. OkieLoki, the big boss at MESS, caught this this one.
This ani-gif is from the Ami having a "rough one" section of the promo with the Green background ... only the background isn't original. Look at the left side of Ami's head and you can easily see that the promo was digitally altered. There are artifacts on the right side of her head that are obvious, but more subtle. We have a bunch of Yasur crying caps, the Ami one was to lead us into thinking Yasur lost Reward. The happy Lopevi section in the promo was recycled from Episode 6 probably because there wasn't one to be had in Episode 7 ... it looks like Yasur probably sweeps this episode. Also, I think whoever is on the receiving end of this look will probably get the boot.
 At least the marketing guys are finally giving us some caps to work with. Maybe they have figured out that playing the vid cap game actually promotes the show!

I think you could certainly be right that Sarge's scowl is recycled, it looked familliar to me too. I went back and looked and Sarge didn't have a shirt or a cap on in the segment I watched. The look was similar, this one is worse. Quite frankly, I didn't have the time to look at every episode. and I am not sure it is worth the effort. The Lopevi Steak and Eggs reveal is recycled in this promo, why not Sarge too?

I don't recall that look from Sarge before. Here's Sarge leering at Julie last week:
Facial hair growth looks about the same here: The crying caps are bothering me and I can't quite put my finger on why. I can't imagine anyone crying unless they got a look at their *own* video, which would mean Scout, Rory and Ami all get to see theirs. But they all look miserable, it doesn't look like "happy" or "expectant" crying. I think they are getting brief snippets of their videos and nothing more here. And just what do we think the fake background for Ami is trying to disguise?

The nature of the videos from home is that they are bittersweet...while they are happy to see their loved ones, they are also struck by how much they miss them.
These shots don't seem any different than those from previous Seasons.

If this is during the reward of coffee, pastries and videos from home, the coffee and treats might be visible off to the side of Ami(so that it would need to be hidden) while it isn't visible in the head-on shots of Rory and Scout.

That's what I'm wondering, if Lopevi tribe members are sitting to Ami's left and were blotted out.I find it hard to believe that the videos will be introduced as a surprise after the fact, for only the tribe that wins RC. Standard procedure is to tease all the contestants still in the game with this gimmick, so they will know exactly what the stakes of winning are. And since this has always come up as an individual reward in the past, there's never been a case where more than one person got to view their full length video. Perhaps only one person on the winning tribe gets to see the full video? Anyway, I agree with Volcanic Glass that the crying caps don't conclusively prove that Yasur wins the RC. But the fact that they tinkered with Ami's background and they recycled happy Lopevi shots from last week strongly suggest something is not what it seems, so they probably do win.
