LAST EDITED ON 11-20-04 AT 04:15 PM (EST) Geez, the French woman sure is vague about who Alex is. When Sayid asks her if Robert was part of the science expedition, she says yes. But when he asks if Alex was, she doesn't answer and changes the subject. Finally she relents, and answers, "Alex was my child." We still don't know if Alex is male or female, or if the French woman used the word "was" for a reason. Maybe Alex isn't even human anymore. Well, whoever Alex is or has become, I have a feeling that *they* are living among the plane crash survivors and possibly infecting them with the "sickness." What does anyone else think? *edited to fix Robert's name.   Top

What if "Alex" isn't a person, but an acronym for whatever scientific experimentation or study they were doing. If "A.L.E.X." is... say a bacterium they were studying and it was released somehow, it could be the reason for the others dying. Danielle warned Sayid to watch the other survivors closely, maybe she knows the germ is running around loose just waiting to infect them.   Top

Wasn't it speculated before (can't remember the thread, and I haven't had enough coffee yet to do a search) that one of "survivors" isn't really a survivor, but has been on the island all along? Perhaps one of the group is this mysterious Alex. I think it would have to be one of the younger castaways. Now that I think about it, was it talked about in the TV Guide article?   Top

Oh my heck, I really MUST stop taking things so literally, especially when it comes to this show. I should know better by now that the simplest line can have multiple meanings and nuances. In a way, I can't wait for the season to be over so it can come out on DVD and I can watch from the beginning and look for all the stuff I know I've missed. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this show!   Top
