Erinn had much more character development than Sophie. Watch Tocantins again and it starts with her asking what she has herself gotten into. Then she becomes Coach's punching bag but outlasts him. Story-wise, that's as if Mikayla had made it to F5 like Erinn did. She also had a nice tie-in with Joe at the merge and then she got close to Stephen. Compared to that, Sophie talks only to Albert, no one else except for that brief scene with Cochran at the merge. Even when Edna came over to plead her case, Sophie was busy suntanning, letting Albert do the talking.
I messed up Tocantins because I was sure that Coach would be wrong, that a warrior wouldn't win. In effect, it wasn't Erinn's edit that fooled me but Coach's and it could very well be that he fooled me again. I simply can't take the guy seriously. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Sophie has only given us narration. She never talks about herself and no one talks about her. She has so little presence that she could easily have been a voice off screen the whole season.
