Police officials say Matthew Houbrick, 42, of Calabasas, Calif., was found on the floor of his hotel room with no pulse.
He was pronounced dead last night by Cook County's Medical Examiner.
Police spokesman Pat Camden said officers found him unresponsive and observed white powder and some white pills on a table in the hotel room.
The man died possibly from a drug overdose, according to police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer, but she said she had no details.
Medical examiner's officials say toxicology reports that could determine what killed Houbrick won't be back for several weeks.
A Fox network spokesman says Houbrick worked as an accountant on the Fox TV series "Prison Break."
Houbrick's ex-wife, Nancy Houbrick, said in a telephone interview that her husband had worked as a television producer.
According to the Internet Movie Database, Matthew Houbrick had worked as production accountant for the WB's "7th Heaven" in 1996 and as a production supervisor on "Charmed" in 1998.
