I really don't think so -- it is always ok to have help with proof reading -- as long as the proof reader doesn't change the content, only typos, etc. At least, that was my policy when I was a teacher. You can suggest changing the content, but not offering specific advice on the changes. Thats what I used as a guide when I was a T.A. for several years.
