There have been posts scattered here and there on William Hung: laughing AT him or WITH him and it seems many posters here in our fine community are quick to come to William Hung's rescue by adopting the adage that William Hung is laughing AT US and laughing all the way to the bank etc... The boy, like many of the others who actually DARE to show up and audition, obviously has NO self editing features what so ever, based on his serious attempt at even trying out for the show. It is my feeling he is delusional and he may just believe this is going to last... I do not believe that most people are laughing at him because they are rascist and laughing at a "negative stereo-type" as the article suggests. However, I DO believe people are laughing at his delusion and thus propagating the William Hung phenomena. I am willing to bet 1,000 bucks that Hung is a bright and gifted engineering student. He will do great good with this gift. I (like his Professor) wonder if he will have the clarity to return to this gift once the public tires of him. The time following these "15 minutes" will proove to be most interesting...   Top
