This shall be my most entertaining vote ever, as I've not yet seen last week's episode. But hey! The cable's installed now and a tape should be on the way to me from Texas (thanks, Nailbone!), so I'll be up to date in no time. Whee!(zy)! And hey, I hear that our own li'l Bebekid is like the Spoiling Queen of the Universe now. How cool is that? Thanks to her, I now know that I can safely vote for Darrah for a while. Wasn't she in Splash or something? Oh, you prolly wanna vote, huh. Okay, let's get to it: The Rules 1. Please put the name of your choice for this week's bootee IN THE SUBJECT HEADING! This is really easy. Just erase the bit where it says "Re: SurvivorBlows Tribe, It's Time to Vote!" and replace with your vote, i.e., Rupert. This makes it easier to tally votes quickly and accurately. Oh, and btw... nicknames are tougher to tally unless they're REALLY obvious without actually reading your vote. 2. Reply ONLY to this post! Curves on women are good. Curves on vote threads are bad. The first part bears repeating: I like curves on women. Y'know, I'm not sure if I've been clear enough about this. Curves on women are really great things. Actually, I bless God for women in general. Better than barbecued ribs. EXCEPTION TO RULE 2! VOTE CHANGES! If it just so happens that you wanna change your vote for whatever reason, REPLY TO YOUR ORIGINAL POST! Your new post heading should read "VOTE CHANGE: Osten (or Whoever)". That said, there is not an exception to the fact that curves on women are good, even better than barbecued ribs, and I really like barbecued ribs. Is anyone else hungry yet? 3. THIS IS NOT A DISCUSSION THREAD! DO NOT TREAT IT AS SUCH! There are plenty of places on the Spoilers Forum to debate the merits of people's arguments. Let's keep it out of here, please. Or I keel. Even though I've been kinda chatty myself with this whole post. But it's just cuz I don't really post on Spoilers otherwise and goshdarnit, I just *sniff* love youse guys. 4. No sig pics! It was suggested that because this can be such a long thread, sig pics make it really hard to load for folks with dial-up connections. So show some respect to your slower brethren (and sistren). And really, if I can refrain from flashing my beautiful greens and making people all swoony, surely you can refrain just this once from extolling IceCat's animated glory, no? Have fun, and when in doubt, vote for Darrah. I think she might've been a Charlie's Angel once, too. Darrah, feeling vulnerable, tells Rupert that Drake should take her if they win the IC. Force Morgan to pick off a stronger member. 4. Rupert goes back to Drake. Drake wins IC. 5. Drake picks Darrah to come back to Drake with them, thus being Darrah's Hero. 6. Ryan is booted 3-1 Would add irony to Ryan O's statement that picking Rupert was the smartest thing they did. "Christa" We have the story of retuning players that includes: Lil Burton Christa If this is true then: 1) In order for Christa to return she has to leave first. 2) Since we don't know yet how or why players return, it makes as much sense to me as any thing I've heard so far that at the time players are brought back it's as simple as the last 3 voted out return - That would mean It's Christa's time to go. 3) If players do return, I've got to think it's at or before the merge (assuming a standard merge). If it's at or before a standard merge there's only 2 more TC's to send Christa to loser lodge before her return. So she gets the ax this week or next and this weeks as good a time as next week.   Top

This fufills the title of "Everybody's Hero", as Rupert, the man who has helped Drake win so many challenges, wins one for Morgan. IC: Morgan. The picture of Darrah choking is misdirection, a la Neleh in Marquesas. Yes, she chokes, but she pulls out yet another challenge for her team when it counts. Snewser's list has one vulnerable Morgan, and 5 vulnerable Drake. If Morgan loses its strongest competitor and goes down to 4, I just don't see how that could happen. Boot: I'm going with KB's Spoil the Spoilers theory here by choosing Christa. I don't think it's mere coincidence that Snewser posted his E4 and E5 checkmarks at the same time he downgraded Christa and Burton. There's also suggestion she comes back, which means she has to leave first (as has already been mentioned on this thread). I see Christa temporarily hanging out at the ghost tribe until she rekindles her fire in a firebuilding challenge that resurrects Lil and Burton also, while snuffing the torches of three of the following: Ryan, Shawn, Rupert, and Jon.   Top

Ryan O. gets the boot if Drake wins IC and steals Darrah. In order for Christa to go, Morgan would have to win IC, steal one of R/T/S, then there would have to be tie vote between the 3 of R/T/S/C who are left and J/S/M. Then Christa would have to lose the tie vote (which would mean they go back to prior votes, or some other new means of a tie breaker and Christa loses). So it's easier to me to see a Ryan O. boot. But of course I'll pick Christa as an alternate.   Top

But, ultimately, I believe the downcast-looking faces of Christa and Jon at the IC are misdirection, and that Drake wins Immunity. For whatever reason - whether Darrah the Target goes over to Drake, if there's another "kidnapping", or whether Ryan angers the Powers That Think They Be - he'll be the odd man out. It was a close call, though. If Drake goes to TC, I think Christa would be leaving - and she may leave next week, at any rate. Lizzmac (ugh - though KB's "Spoiling the Spoilers" analysis sure adds fuel to the Christa fire... ah well, hitting "post message" and hoping for the best...)   Top

Misdirection: The theme this week appears to be “misdirection”. We were presented misleading vidcaps of a RC hug that is really mid-game rather than a victory hug. We were shown Darrah gagging at the IC and Rupert’s loyalty being questioned by Trish and Sandra. Rupert is all over the previews, with his fate apparently in the balance…all misdirection. Rupert is safe. Burton’s Chat: From Burton’s negative comments about Rupert, we might conclude that Burton and Rupert did not spend time together at the lodge. Burton may return as part of the Ghost Tribe at the same time Rupert leaves the game, thereby not able to heal old wounds. Rupert is safe until the “Ghost Tribe” arrives. EP6 Title: ”Me and My Snake” Jon is likely the snake and therefore safe in EP5. In addition, we have yet to see Jon earn JP’s “grudging respect”… maybe in EP6. Confessional Analysis: Christa had a telltale confessional spike for the second week in a row and the highest confessional count last week. The first chapter of he story appears to be complete. Sequel to follow… OFG Theory: Christa a featured in the promo for this week. Wearing her IC outfit (blue dress with blue headband) and looking concerned. Ghost Tribe: Reports of 3 people returning as part of the “Ghost Tribe” combined with conflicting reports of Christa’s pre-jury boot and Family Visit participation, suggests that Christa is the third member of the “Ghost Tribe”. In order fo her to return, she first needs to be voted out. If Ryan goes in EP6, as victim of the ghost tribe’s return, Christa needs to leave in EP5. Snewser’s Scorecard: “Spoiling the Spoiler” we can conclude that Snewser knows who the EP5 boot is. He inadvertently told us that it’s Christa, with the “double check marks”. Game Logic: Last week Christa was probably the primary boot target, until Burton became a “traitor” and Rupert rallied the others against him. Christa thought she was in danger and expressed her concern in a confessional. With Burton gone, Christa’s name goes right back to the top of the list. Nothing else has really changed… She has been described as lazy and annoying by other members of her tribe. Shawn and Jon have an alliance and Shawn does not care for Christa. He will not hesitate to vote for Christa and Michelle voted for her last TC. Sandra and Trish appear to question Rupert’s loyalty and will likely look to realign themselves in another alliance. Sandra will negotiate if it’s in her best interest. Jon the “puppetmaster”, and probably next week’s “snake”, will have a few days without Rupert around to negotiate the deal. Trish/Sandra may form an alliance with Shawn/Jon and Michelle, to vote against Rupert/Christa. Since Rupert is needed for challenges and food, until the merge. I've put Ryan in the subject line and I'm not going to change it. Here's my thoughts. Rupert is Everyone's Hero. He's won Drake ton's of challenges (until they decided to throw one the stoopid heads). He goes to Morgan. He bonds with Darrah a little bit. He see's the tribes dynamics (even though I belive that Morgan tries to keep things from him because they're afraid he'll return to Drake and spill all he knows, which he will), he sees that Andrew and Ryan seem to have things sewed up as far as alliances and leadership. Rupert then teaches them how to catch fish, to rebuild their shelter (or at least their half ass attempt to stem the tides) and makes life just a little easier on the Morgans. He's such a hero to them. They go to the RC. Drake wins the RC. Not that Rupert doesn't try for Morgan, I'm sure he gives at least 85% (ha ha to 110% touting Andrew) to them but Drake is still stronger and they win the shower stuff. Rupert goes back to Drake saying goodbye to his new friends and giving a good-bye gesture of "stay strong my peeps, stay strong". They then go to IC. Drake also wins IC. Rupert is Drakes hero. Rupert becomes Darrahs hero by telling the Drakes to take Darrah in the tribe member pillage. He tells them that Darrah is the next out in that tribe so why not save her and make them vote off one of their strong members. Tijuana would seem to be the next logical choice to them being a woman, but Rupert sensed a bond between Andrew and Tijuana that Ryan O didn't know about and figures that with Darrah gone as a target they'd either go for Ryan or Osten. Morgans go to TC. Poor Morgans look so pitiful with 4 little members sitting in front of the fire. Jiffy tells them to vote. Cute little Ryan is voted out 3 to 1. Andrew and Tijuana tell Osten that if he doesn't vote for Ryan they'll make his life even more miserable. Ryan votes for Tijuana because Andrew tells him to do it. Andrew in the meantime still has in his head the Osten is more of an asset than Ryan (fool that Andrew is) and targets Ryan for his possible ability to make friends with the Drakes come merge time. However, I didn't see how, logically, Christa would be in danger this week. I still don't, however there are a couple of things that lead me to believe that something happens tonight to change the alliance structure at Drake. 1. The Big Lie - We've been waiting for it. Burton tells us it hasn't happened yet. Most of us believe Jon is the liar. Christa alludes to Jon's insincerity in Ep. 4, setting up the perfect scenario for those words to foreshadow her downfall (MB's favorite narrative device). It makes sense for Jon to want to divide the block of 4 (Sa/T/C/R). Christa is the weakest link there. She has votes against her already, she isn't a big challenge asset (Trish and Rupert are), she's not a big "provider" (like Rupert), and she has already rubbed people the wrong way. I believe that Jon perpetrates the big lie in E5 because that's what it will take to get Christa's alliance to turn on her. Rupert is big on loyalty and Sandra is sensitive to people "talking about her" (or anyone else for that matter). If Jon can somehow plant seeds of doubt with those two, he could get them to turn on Christa. Leading to... 2. "Me and My Snake" - The "snake" is Jon, who has been successful in deceiving the rest of Drake, thereby rearranging the power structure there. and finally... 3. The Big Regret - I could swear that I saw somewhere Jeff saying that the lie and regret were tied together. If that's the case, and the "Ghost Tribe" exists, then Christa will potentially have the chance to exact her revenge on Jon. Jon will regret his Lie, because it unwittingly led to his demise. According to one promo the tribe winning immunity swipes the other tribe's MVP. That essentially eliminates both the Darrah and Michelle swipe possibilities. Michelle is the odd man out in Drake, with Rupert the only other one in question. Rupert is the Drake MVP, that's virtually inescapable, so Michelle must go if Drake goes to TC. If Morgan goes to TC, Darrah is out of the tribe. If Darrah gets swapped, the men will reluctantly axe Tijuana or Osten before Ryan O. But Darrah isn't going anywhere. She'll fight out the gross food challenge (probably against Trish) and ensure that it is Drake doing their second TC. So who goes from that tribe? Well the obvious would be Michelle. She was the odd woman out in the last vote and she's way weaker than Shawn, who Drake will probably have to keep to avoid losing three IC's in a row. Jon seems to be effectively straddling the alliances, and I think he needs more time to perpetrate a big lie or have Jeff "come to root for him." The only other option is Christa, who is my alternate. THe problem with a Christa boot is that it would require Rupert, Sandra, or Trish to ditch her in favor of Jon/Shawn/Michelle. None of these people have shown any reason to bolt from their alliance. And Christa has played too smart to date to give them a reason to. The logical boot is Michelle, and she gets my vote.   Top

I have seen game logic become meaningless time and again, so I ignored my instincts and was leaning toward Christa (even though it seems to make no game sense at this time given the apparent strength of her alliance). So if Drake wins IC, I think they will target Shawn or Michelle. I chose Michelle because, even though we see Shawn as bothering more people than Michelle, she should go as she is weaker. Shawn will not have any hope being the last of an alliance, and he would be more motivated to keep winning ICs. I cant see Drake bumping Christa over Michelle when she is in a solid alliance. Alliances must maintain trust, even if some menbers may be irritating. If Moron wins IC, I just cant believe they would vote out a strong person since they need to keep winning challenges. So that leaves Ryan out for me. It would be between Osten and Darrah. I think they should vote out Osten, but I'm going with Darrah.   Top
