"TV Guide listing for 12/5 - SPOILERS" |
I'll try to leave enough space so that someone who is randomly perusing the thread listings and doesn't want to know what happens in future episodes can safely avoid this thread.OK, for the rest of you, this is the listing for December 5: "Amazing Race Race to the Finish, Part 1 60 min. The final three teams compete in the penultimate leg of the race. Phil Keoghan is the host." It looks like conventional wisdom is right. Any other comments?

Sorry, Goober, but I don't agree. I think this is what happens:E10: 4 teams, no boot at the pit stop. E11: 4 teams, 1 gets booted at the pit stop (Hong Kong? Alaska? B.C.?). E12: 3 teams, no pit stop. E13: 3 teams, team that reaches pit stop first wins. My evidence? The title, "Race to the Finish, Part 1." Thus, the final episode will be entitled "Race to the Finish, Part 2." I can't see any reason for a format change between "Part 1" and "Part 2", can you? And ... the teams were told by Phil that there were only three no-boot pit stops. Two occurred in E6 and E8, and the third will be in E10. Thus, there can't be a pit stop at the end of E12. The REAL race for victory will begin once E12 starts.

LAST EDITED ON 11-21-01 AT 12:50 PM (EST)>That looks like exactly what will >happen. I think it >would make for pretty bad >television if there are only >two teams in the finale >Also, "final three teams" seems to >indicate that the three teams >will compete against each other >til the end. Ayak & PangongRatEater, I have to concede on your reasonings here. However I still wonder how the no boot pit stop will work for that particular episode since do or die outcomes are the primary source of dramatic tension in this series. It would have to be a cliff-hanger episode where a hook is cast for the viewers not to change channels midway since an elimination does not occur.
