Even after two score and two years with Bart Simpson as a fourth grader Marcia Wallace could still make us laugh. It must have been the years tolerating Dr. Robert Hartley's daily goings-on. I had the pleasure of meeting Ms Wallace about 10 years ago when I attended a performance of How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying at Los Angeles Hamiliton High. She was working at the snack bar, and I got to chat with her for a few moments while my hot dog was being prepped. She said that she volunteered several weekends during the run. Very gracious. Thank you Carol/Edna.

The weird element here is that there's been a deliberate leak about the upcoming Simpsons season, one which says another character will die -- and some of the media predictions were for Edna.
Don't leave that contract.

Loved her. Who would have thunk Carol would have been the break-out star from The Bob Newhart Show?
I saw the brief Simpsons tribute to her in the opening and closing credits to her. Very sweet. I'm sure there's a more fleshed-out show coming up.
