Tregard 11 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Got Milk? Spokesperson" 05-04-09, 02:53 PM (EST) "How do you prefer your Fast Fowards/Yeilds?" Do you prefer 2 or 3 a series, or one every leg? I think I prefer 3 a series for Fast Fowards, as that adds a bit of difference between episodes. But for Yields, I think I prefer 1 Yield and 1 or 2 U-Turns in a series (as in TARA 3)   Top

I really don't like the U-turn at all, it just penalises a team who have done nothing wrong. I would like more fast forwards, one a week until we reach the final five or six would work for me, after that they should race on skill and luck. I think 3 Fast Forwards and 3 U-Turns would be a good number... maybe have one on an early elimination leg, one on a non-elimination leg, and the final on a leg with a speed bump. I'm firmly in the pro-uturn camp. It isn't unfair-- each team has an equal chance of avoiding it by finishing the detour first, and it rewards teams that complete the detour quickly by giving them a time buffer over their competitors. Plus, the U-Turn is better than the Yield because it gives the affected team some control over their own destiny. Teams that have been eliminated after getting u-turned were either so far behind that they would have lost anyway (like Jason/Lorena) or would have stayed in the race had they completed other tasks more effectively (Amanda/Kris and Kisha/Jen).   Top

I'd also like 3 Fast-Forwards per series. Or maybe 4. And I'd like 2 U-Turns per series. No Yields for me. The U-Turn's much better than a Yield.   Top

I prefer to see all teams facing the same tasks to see how well different pairs handle the challenges. The U-Turn is ok, but the "blind" version was a bad idea. If you're going to U-Turn someone, stand up and own it. It is not unfair because anyone can be faster than the other teams and get there first. I prefer the U-Turn to the Yield because it's active. Just sitting around to wait for the sand to run out of the glass is rather dull.   Top
