geekboy 1788 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Herbal Healing Drugs Endorser" 09-04-03, 01:32 PM (EST) "Clay Aiken" Hello all - For the record, i'm 37, married, father of two... I, as many others, was a fan of Clay since he made the wildcard round and blew all others out of the water. It seems to me that Clay has pretty much 'won' the initial round of the recording test that Simon alluded to on the finale. Yes, i bought the CD single and i think the boy has pure talent. Clay's single obviously out-did Ruben's. Now it comes out that his debut CD will be released prior to Ruben's, which actually surprises me. He seems to be the fan favorite at the AI concerts this past summer. He was first on Rolling Stone. The question i have is why haven't they released his video for "This Is The Night"? Supposedly it was shot prior to the Rolling Stone issue's release, yet they haven't released the single. Anyone have any info on this? geekboy   Top

"RE: Clay Aiken - True Winner of American Idol 2" I believe Clay actually did win American Idol 2 but the producers rigged it so Ruben could win because it would be more "politically correct", especially for FOX viewers. They supposedly saw more potential in Ruben, however, 3 things prove that Clay may have actually won. 1) Clay outsold Ruben in CD singles, and we're not talking a tiny margin but almost double!!! 2) The winner's single was supposed to be released first but they decided to release both singles at the same time. Why? In all fairness of course to Clay, who had actually won. 3) The winner's CD is supposed to be released first and guess what? That would be Clay's and why? Because he was the REAL winner! Now to answer you question, I'm not sure why there isn't a video for "This Is The Night" yet. My guess is, the single sold so well, they felt they didn't need to release it.   Top

My guess is, the single sold so well, they felt they didn't need to release it". The reason the video was not released was because it was not in Clay's best interest to release it. It was poorly done and it made Clay look too effeminate (DUH!). The release from RCA indicated that in order to "protect Clay" the video was scrapped altogether. BTW, can you get over the conspiracy theories? Geez! Talk about beating a dead horse...!!!! sheesh!   Top

I'll probably pick up a copy this weekend. His performance on Jay Leno was quite good, i must say. Invisible is just a damn catchy song, i think it was a great selection for the first single. If you liked Clay's voice on the show buy the CD it's nice. 1. Invisible- loved it 2. I Will Carry You- I'm liking it better the second time thru 3. The Way- nice slow sappy song 4. When You Say You Love Me- I liked this one 5. No More Sad Songs- a little too mellow for me, is this a remake? 6. Run to Me- nice song 7. Shine- liked this one 8. I Survived You- starts a little slow, but I like it 9. This is the Night- Yeah!!! 10. Perfect Day- good song, I can picture the video for this one 11. Measure of a Man- I liked this one 12. Touch- upbeat song, I liked it the lyrics stuck in my head All in all I really liked it, but I was a huge Clay fan during his time on AI.   Top
