This surprises me, not that some are made, but that so many are made. It seems to have become a necessary ingredient of modern life to make tapes of intimate sessions. No judgment on my part, I realize it can spice up life and people are entitled to express themselves however they wish. And be happy. Have you ever made or been in a sex tape with a loved one, a liked one, or a barely with acquainted one? Did you U-tube it? Did you blur private parts? Or faces? Have you ever been in a sex tape that was taken without your knowledge at the time? There is one more follow-up question, except it runs counter to common sense advice in regard to privacy, so please don’t post the u-tube links. A PM will suffice (jk). I will admit to having taken a picture of my big toe when I bought a new digital camera a while back. It were taken by accident because I didn’t know which the power button was and which the shutter release button was. My immediate and mortifying shame caused me to delete it. However if there is anyone with a strong stomach that is interested, I can recreate it. The toe is still pretty much as it was then.   Top

I have never been involved in having a sex act taped (even if I did, not sure I'd admit it here!). I agree with you, Kingfish. I had no idea this many people were taping sex acts. Naivite on my part. Not only would I cringe at seeing me on tape, but I would think it would potentially scar my kids to know I had done something like that. If my kids ever actually wandered across the hypothetical tape of me doing that, I would think they would need more therapy than I could ever afford. Don't we all cringe at the thought that somewhere, hidden in a dank closet, there might be a film of our parents ...well, doing that? Have you ever been in a sex tape that was taken without your knowledge at the time? Again, all of my sexually regrettable moments were well before the age of small cameras and cell phone cameras. But if they had been around in the 80s, I might well have some things to explain. I doubt it, as none of them were really public. But it seems that the smaller cameras would make it a lot easier to film someone without their consent.   Top

There is a picture my husband took of me in the first year we were together. I was sitting on the bed in our hotel room in the Bahamas ironing an outfit. In the picture I am wearing my undergarments, which look like a bathing suit. I am looking down, so you can't even see my entire face. I was 20 years old, and I had the body of a 20 year-old who had been athletic, in great shape and never pregnant. I think it is one of the reasons why he took the picture. It's a great picture, but I think I would be horrified if that picture were ever shared, especially on the internet. It is not hard for me to understand why people make sex videos, but it is hard for me to understand or appreciate why they feel the need to share them as they seem to do these days. "RE: Sex tapes" what seems like a good idea now, can turn into a very bad idea when it falls into the wrong hands or if the person who has it decides to make it public (out of spite or greed, usually, it seems). The real problem as I see it is that teenagers have almost constant access to cameras and many of them have little wisdom about the ethics of taking/sharing those pics and videos. I know that I would probably have gotten into big trouble in the 80s if I had a camera in some of those situations.   Top
