Scenario. (As before, completely wild guess. And, to paraphrase TMQ, all predictions and deductions guaranteed wrong or your money back.)So here we have Matt, who we know to be an emotional guy, and Earl, who is playing the part of the hard-boiled former military lifer. According to sources, the two make a connection. A handshake across the generations. 'You're the son I never had.' 'And you're the father I never visit, even though we live in the same house.'
Earl's voted out. Earl makes his speech to the others, and says that the person he learned the most from is Kip. Kip and Earl have a certified (fake) moment before Earl heads out the door.
And in Matt's brain, Kip becomes the number 1, Earl becomes a second 1, and the words 'Look at the tender, loving May-December relationship that the world will now never get to see fulfilled' somehow compress down enough to become a 2.
Yes, Matt has just concluded that Earl has, in his subtle way, broken years of silence, volunteered information that he was never asked for and hasn't told once in his life, and come out of the closet as gay. A life-altering announcement on national television. Earl is forever changed. The audience is forced to reassess their views of the world. QE considers changing over to the Fab 6 by adding a Social Interaction specialist.
And Matt, listening to the harp strings playing somewhere just out of microphone range, goes into an all-out emotional breakdown.
As for the remaining actors -- I think the standard trick is to think of your career prospects following the show's wrap-up. 'I'm going to be featured on UPN? Pass me another tissue.'
