 Dook Sucks....Wait a minute, we're not talking about the college basketball team? Boy did that "no money" leg affect some teams. Duke and Lauren only had eleven dollars for this leg, and it ultimately killed their chances. Still, I think it was funny how the TAR racers actually had to work for their money in the Roadblock, instead of getting free handouts from Phil. Take that, welfare program.  Week 3 Results
1st place - Erwin/Godwin (2.4x)
2nd place - Tyler/James (1.3x)
3rd place - Rob/Kimberly (1.2x)
4th place - Dustin/Kandice (1.1x)
5th place - Peter/Sarah (even)
6th place - Lyn/Karlyn (1.17x)
7th place - David/Mary (.88x)
8th place - Tom/Terry (.7x)
9th place - Duke/Lauren (0x) Moving Around...This was definitely the week of movers and shakers. With the way the Payout Table was constructed, there was a huge gap in scoring 1st and 2nd place bets. Combine that with Erwin/Godwin's bonus, we definitely saw some players surge ahead. Overall, it was a pretty good week for everyone. Only five players finished with a negative score. No eliminations this week. Sorry.  Week 2's Perfect Bet Award goes to Estee (2.5x), who bet All-In on Erwin/Godwin this week. A lot of people did this, but rounding-up Estee's score gives the overall edge. Other players who did exceptionally well (2x or higher) are redbaronii, Yogi, KittyLuvr, Road Kill, alwaysintruble1, Corvis, bighair, tribephyl, adricharlie, tvgeek401, CattyChat, and FFantasyFX. Dang. That's a lot of good scores.This week's Greatest Gainer Award is a tie. Congratulations to both alwaysintruble1 and Corvis for moving up an astounding 26 ranks in one week! Daaaaaaaang. 66. JanetFAN - 6New Players Still Welcome!During this week and next week, new players will be accepted to the game. However, enter as soon as you can, because new players will receive fewer starting points each week. To save space, here are the abridged rules...
1. Each new player receives 5 points to start.
2. Once you've run out of points, you're out of the game.
3. Each week, you may choose to bet some (or all) of your points on the remaining Amazing Race teams.
4. There is no limit on your individual bets, as long as the total doesn't exceed the number of points you have.
5. You may bet on as many or as few teams as you want.
6. You don't have to bet all of your points, or even play at all during a particular week.
7. All bets must be integers (whole numbers).
8. All entries must be posted before showtime: 8:00 PM on Sunday, October 8th.
9. Any edited posts after the deadline will receive a significant penalty.Scoring Rules
1. Based on where your racers finish, your bet will be multiplied by a Multiplier to determine your payout for each bet.
2. Then all of your individual bets are totaled together to give your new point total for the next week.
3. Each week, there will be some teams that have an extra multiplier attached to them. If you bet on those teams, your payout will be slightly higher than normal. But remember, most of your score is dependent on where your teams finish each week. For the complete rules, please check out the Week 1 entry thread. Also, check out the Sample Entry below. 1st place - 2x
2nd place - 1.9x
3rd place - 1.2x
4th place - 1.1x
5th place - .9x
6th place - .8x
7th place - .1x
8th place - 0x The Loser Bonuses are still in effect. This week, you earn extra bonuses for Tom/Terry (1.2x) and David/Mary (1.1x). From next week on, they'll just be listed in the TARX Teams Remaining list, so look out for them. They'll always be the bottom one or two teams from the previous week, though. Bonus Game: Lucky 9 Strikes BackThis was my favorite new game from last year, so I had to bring it back... Bonus Games are opportunities for players to earn a few extra points on the side. If you score well on the Bonus Games, you could earn a huge payout. Beware though, that most Bonus Games tend to be riskier than the regular bets, so you might lose a few points. In the Lucky 9 bonus game, you'll wager some of your points on a pair of teams. Your objective is to pick two teams whose rankings at the end of Leg 4 equals 9. So, in other words, you want your two teams to finish either 1st & 8th, 2nd & 7th, 3rd & 6th, or 4th & 5th. Sounds difficult? It is. But with some careful picking, or some dumb luck, you'll be a winner. I remember, last year, I tried to pick the 1st and 8th place teams, and they ended up 2nd & 7th. So, in this game, your personal prediction doesn't even have to be entirely accurate. Your wager can be a maximum of 5 points, and you may only make one bonus wager. Also, remember that your bonus picks are entirely separate from your other picks. So make sure you denote them as "Bonus" or whatnot. Bonus Game Payout Table
