Votey McVotesters, I'm gonna make this quick 'cause my connection isn't worth a flying fart and it's cutting out every 2.6 seconds. Here's Le Ole' Copy & Paste. THE RULES 1. Please put the name of your choice for this week's bootee IN THE SUBJECT HEADING! This is really easy. Just erase the bit where it says "Re: SurvivorBlows Tribe, It's Time to Vote!" and replace with your vote, i.e., Ghandia. This makes it easier to tally votes quickly and accurately. 2. Reply ONLY to this post! Curves on women are good. Curves on vote threads are bad. Only one violater for this rule last week! Nice job, Gang! I'm so pleased that I won't mention IvoryElephants name. My Spidey Sense is tingling. Logic dictates Robb. - Clay says CG doesn't go back "for a while" while I take to mean more than one TC. OF course, for CG, skipping one is a while... And no one else fro SJ is even possible for a boot (See my Shii comments below) - Robb and Ken have it out. Normally, I would speculate that pumping up the fight in the preview means he is safe, but we had the Ghandia/Ted fight in front of us when she got the boot. ANd this cast is sooo lame they have to try to hook the viewers with the potential of fisticuffs. - I'm not voting Shii Ann EVER again. I am convinced she does NOT smoke at loser lodge with G-Diva, for several reasons. A few: she is the most likely to "sleep with the enemy" and the whole PT spoiler... I made the mistake last year of picking Kathy to go at least 3 times. I will gladly be wrong the day Shii gets the hook. - MB has been very in our faces with the boots this time around. SJ might throw the IC again, although unlikely unless the Ken-Robb fight is really really ugly. I expect next week will be harder, but this looks like another slam dunk. -ICB   Top

Sometimes when a player calls bullshit on another, the honest/confrontational player seems to get booted. This season's Robb reminds me a bit of last season's Rob; dood is not nearly as engaging, but he, at least, does not hide in the shadows/hut. I can only hope a natural disaster befalls the hut morons. If this game were about survival, instead of being about social survival while on an extended tropical camping trip, everyone would die. In addition to the many discussions we've already had, I've been thinking that Erin may play a more important role in the next few episodes than we have considered up until this point in the game… How does Erin go on to become the only Sook Jai with a weight loss spoiler associated with them? Erin has been edited as a kind of spokesperson for the Sook Jai, commenting, for example, about having to get rid of “some people”. We know Erin does not like Shii Ann or Robb. Once the Sook Jai lose the IC, they will realize they are going into the merge at 5-5. They know they cannot risk having a potential defector amoung them. Robb is loyal and loves his tribe…Shii Ann is not happy with her tribe and we know they don’t like her. Shii Ann is a potential defector…keeping her around is the greater risk. In addition Ken and Jake will realize that they are the potential targets going into the merge, but they are also the leaders of the Sook Jai and can steer the voting in the direction of their choosing. Ken and Jake need a human shield, someone who is a bigger target than they are…another reason to keep Robb going into the merge. In Episode 6 Robb finds himself alone, without Jed or Stephanie, all he is left with is “The Power of One”. He may use his power to win the RC for his tribe, when he faces off against Ted. After comfronting Ken abouit trust, the feast may help to reunite the tribe he loves. In the end “the power of one”...extra vote must be given up when the Sook Jai head to TC. Shii Ann is voted out in EP6 and has the opportunity to get to know Ghandia well enough for them to still be friendly outside the game. Ghandia also finds out that Shii Ann smokes. Jed and Stephanie travel together in Thailand, so Shii Ann and Jed never really have a chance to reconcile. In Episode 7, the tribes face off at 5-5. Robb becomes the target of Chuay Gahn, while Brian or Ted are targeted by Sook Jai. At this point Erin (the only Sook Jai with significant weight loss) could jump ship and defect to the Chuay Gahn, to get rid of Robb whom she doesn’t like. The other variation on this scenario is a simple tiebreaker between Robb and Ted/Brian, which Robb loses, and he’s gone. In either case, Robb can then go off to smoke occasionally with Ghandia. In Episode 8, Erin may be “sleeping with the enemy”, either because she just betrayed the Sook Jai, or because they are now outnumbered 5-4 and she is trying to save herself by realigning with the Chuay Gahn. Regardless, she can then go on to lose weight, in keeping with her weight loss spoiler, while the rest of the Sook Jai join the jury… Krautboy   Top

There are three things that point to Robb, in my mind: 1) Robb is final outsider of 5-man alliance that, up until now, has voted together, and would thus be on the chopping block if and when SJ loses the immunity challenge. 2) Robb is injured, thanks to the food auction and a relatively non-physical IC last episode, it is unclear how well-healed Robb will be for this week's challenges. 3) According to OFG's preview theory, the eventual bootee will be featured in some way in the preview. In the only preview that I have seen this week, Robb was featured, but Shii was completely absent. For the record, an anti-OFG theory (that is... anti-theory, not anti-OFG herself) has now arisen that would suggest that MB has precisely reversed his old habits, but I will stick with the tried and true. Thus, Robb is my pick for bootee, and by extention, CG is my pick for IC win. As for RC, let's assume that a better-fed SJ team will win the RC. In the past, RCs and ICs have alternated physical and mental on an episode-by-episode basis, so it's time for a physical RC (seen in previews) and mental IC. SJ is simply the best equipped (especially given CG's tiring swim(s) to find water) to win a physical RC, but the evidence suggests a CG IC win.   Top

Previews Frankly, I have gotten little spoiler value from the editing of previews this season, which is obviously a switch for me. As far as I can tell, they aren't very good or long and just give clips that will make the audience think someone is in danger or there's a fight. Basic Promo 101 instead of diabolical misdirection, IMHO. Going for ratings they are. However, Robb is featured in the promo and Shii Ann is not. For misdirection, I'm looking instead to the actual episodes. Editing: hiding Robb in plain sight Last episode, much work went into highlighting the problems with Shii Ann, in a way that reminded me of Kathy's editing. Robb's loner status was downplayed. He seemed to fit in with the majority who were bothered by Shii Ann. Who talked trash about him? The outsider. The episode couldn't hide the fact that the Beach-Sleepers' Alliance went down to One, couldn't hide where the votes were placed, but nowhere did we see anyone say: maybe Robb has to go. It was all Shii Ann or Stephanie, leaving the viewer with the general impression that Shii Ann is next because she's gotten votes, never mind that the loser alliance accounts for every vote she's gotten. Robb is the IC threat/outsider boot A look at precedent: Last season's #6 and #7 boots of Gina and Robfaddah and S'3s Lindsay and Clarence apparently point to a 6/7 pattern of booting a weakly allied or annoying female followed by a strong male. But Gina was the last of her kind in her tribe and well-liked; they just had to pick someone and had no IC threat among them. Lindsay was the target solely because of prior votes. Had Boran gone to TC in Ep 6 I think there's little doubt they would have axed the IC threat/outsider, Clarence. S2 had no Ep 6, so we'll never know. Quite possibly, Kucha would have turned on Michael and taken him out pre-merge. In S1 they had no clue what they were playing, but they axed Joel. Here we see SJ consistently booting the outsiders who are also IC threats. Stephanie said that's a strong reason they booted Jed (Early Show). We assume that Ep 7 is where they take out the challenge threat, but if you look at history there were other reasons why that didn't happen in Ep 6, which is the safe time to do it. Are they willing to gamble on a merge in 7? Hell, they were willing to oust a great challenge contender in Ep 3. SJ feels that cocky about their strength. So, sure. With an upcoming tie vote and the odd rules that may involve chance, do they feel ANY confidence they can take out Robb in Ep 7? CG will try, but SJ has to hope that doesn't work. No, they know they have to do their best to keep Robb in Ep 7, to keep the majority, and if they are successful, they couldn't afford to take him out until Ep 9 at the earliest. At that point the young strong guy is a real threat to hog the IC's, and then you have the 5th wheel in the alliance who won't go when it's his allotted time. No good; boot him in 6 when his own tribe has total control of the outcome. story arc The confessional editing and pre-show info have portrayed Shii Ann as a devious player. Have we seen any real deviousness that has affected the game? No, to date she has been a supporting vote and has had an open personality conflict with Robb (and Erin). I feel there's more to come before her story is over. It's been argued that SJ will boot Shii Ann as a potentially devious player. On what would they base that suspicion from what they've seen to date? They don't see her confessionals. Robb has had a story--the exuberant cocky guy who thought that youth, strength, and winning challenges were enough to make it in the game, the guy who took people at face value, didn't watch his words, and assumed people were on his wavelength ... In a way, he's acted much like clueless Kimmy. If Ep 6 brings a realization that IT'S A GAME of wits and people aren't hung up on ethics and truth, that people care if you don't vote with them and just hang with your buddies, then he has had a full story arc. Gets redeemed, blah blah blah. smoking spoiler Ghandia's comment about Robb was the only one that reflected real knowledge of smoking habits and likely association: "Robb smoked OCCASIONALLY." The others just "smoke"--a fact about a habit they have. ANY meeting with them outside the game, any email where giving up smoking is discussed, would reveal that fact. Ghandia and Shii Ann have natural affinities and perhaps a shared sense of outrage at the male chauvinists at CG: they have a reason to look each other up post-game, IMHO. That said, of course Shii Ann is my alternate, and Jan is the dark horse, while Jake is starting to edge out Shii Ann on my boot radar for Ep 7.   Top

I am figuring on Chewy losing because as of tonight, they are still looking for their boat, this means they are physically exhausted, potentially water depleted and they are not eating as well as Sucky. They are tired, hungry, thirsty. Combine that with an extremely looking exhausted Ted after RC, couple that with Sucky eating a Thai feast, I don't think they have the energy even if it is a "brain" challenge I am not yet sure whether the RC is a combo with IC but even still, I just think Chewy is tired. I also think Ted is the one exhibiting the bizarre behavior; perhaps from sheer exhaustion and dehyrdation. Those caps of him look like he is ready to fall over and he is ALWAYS exhausted after physical challenges. I think he starts acting strange and that worried the tribe. I'm not starting to wonder if Clay is the underdog, I am going back now to Ted and Brian and wondering if they are the ones wondering if "others" caught on to their secret alliance, that being Clay and then Clay becomes despondent about the whole thing couple that with his previous votes starts to feel vulnerable, then does a turnaround where he is "back in the game" and we are glad for it. I know we have the smoking spoilers, Clay spoiler and the weight loss but none of these are extremely definitive. The Clay line about not seeing Chewy's for a while could quite be AFTER the merger as tribes still think of themselves as one unit and this would work if Shii Ann or whomever does sleep with the enemy; we may see the old Chewys back on the board. Weight loss for Chewys is still possible even if Jan goes now. Stephanie said she lost 15 lbs so Jan being there longer than Stephanie, she could still fulfill her weight loss spoiler. If they go to merger 6-4, the person who sleeps with the enemy can easily turn this into a 5-5 game There is nothing really convincing me that Chewy wins IC. Therefore, I am going on the mere fact that Chewy is weaker notwithstanding the IC may be brains but I think they are spent physically and mentally.   Top

Personally I have noticed that SJ seems to look at Robb with amusement. Another reason for Shii over Robb is that if Robb goes this week does it make sense for Chuay to go after Shii next week? I don't think it does and after next weeks boot the rest will be the jury so Shii could not smoke with Ghandia if she is on the jury. Stephanie also said that Jed and herself took off on a trip by themselves. Let's assume Shii is next. Don't you think Jed and Stephanie would take off just to get away from Shii and Ghandia? I do. I haven't seen any real evidence to suggest that the SJ Shelter 5 would turn on Shii Ann if they're expecting a merge next week. Why go into the merge with Robb, who probably feels no allegiance to them? Alternate pick: Shii Ann, but only in case of dire illness, or some other incapacitating injury. As far as the rest of the Shelter alliance knows, she's a solid fifth member (although I think they only see her as the fifth). So, for her to get booted, there's got to be some solid reason for her to go. However, I think she realizes she could have a longer life in the game if she swings next week, but that's for next week.
