They land on the beach...Jiffy says follow me... ladies on the left... men on the right... The tribe memebers have to take turns introducing themselves to the group. Can we say 'executive retreat'? Short video bites of the tribe members in their home towns are quickly cut in. Nice cheer from the tribe members when the NYC policeman is introduced. Jiffy pulls the the two oldest tribe members (Jake and Jan) out and asks them to pick a tribe color (one is sunrise and one is sunset). Suk Jai and Chuay Gahn are the tribe names. Jiffy tells the two 'elders' to chose up sides they have to chose a member of the opposite sex to start) Then they have to pick alternating male and female members. Jan is picking really badly. Not many athletes. Clay and Erin are the last picked. Seems like old farts and funbags need not apply!

i don't know that her picks were horrible, but she certainly could have afforded to pick a younger guy early on. helen may be the toughest woman out there, so i don't know that i'd fault that choice, and the rest of the women (with the exception of Stephanie maybe, who was already gone) are something of a tossup in terms of just physical strength
the only way i think she really could have done better would be to pick jed instead of brian (Ted was probably a good choice, probably the strongest one there, although its hard to judge without seeing them at all, lol)

John is seeming a little assertive...Red tribe is finding crabs on the beach... and clams. Sun down... Sook Jai tribe is swimming in the dark Steph is skinny dipping... Very nice bod! Then they get around to building a temporary shelter. These guys seem very disorganized. Next day... Red Tribe someone is dehydrated and throwing up. John is taking uneccesary risks... lone wolfing it by climbing up the cliffs by himself. People not impressed. Everyone else going for water. They are reading the map wrong. John decides to take the boat around the rocks finds something that made the Africa water look good. Then they find the real source... a covered cistern. John decides to fool everyone by telling them that the dirty pool is the water source. People not impressed by the joke. This John is a real charmer... NOT!

Wondering if the time spent on shelter might have been better spent getting food.First competition: Paddle boat race around the small island... One person gets off at first station to negotiate a maze... picks up a flag... Next station... someone dives and unhooks a flag under water... Last station... a slider puzzle.
Purple team is now pointing the boat the right direction but are still slow... fall behind early.
Jan jumps in the water to take the maze station keeps the lead... Purple way behind now. Brian dives in for station two dives down and unhooks flag underwater. Ghandia takes puzzle tray station... taking way too much time purple catches up! Ghandia is screwing up big time. Jeff beats her easily purple team now in lead! Sook Jai wins IC! Ghandia screwed it up BIG TIME!

Also, I loooooved the "she devil" and her covered "ta-tas"  and I already despise Robb (total moron). The red team has a phenomenal camp, and they are not as weak, as their physical age might suggest. Ghandia will be next from that tribe. Great start

I did not see how that stupid team picked him. he wasn't that bossy. And there were too many weak members in that tribe that should of gone first. I think he was a little over confident. On the Early show this morning he said that was his problem. He just said he could not help himself because he is such an outdoorsman. It didn't cross his mind that he would be first to go. Jan should of gone becuase she picked the team, she was too old, and they needed all the strength possible. With her there she will also try to be the leader because she picked the tribe. Nice plot twist by burnett to try to get the older people to last longer. So much for your spoilers with John only having one Shirt. He wore 3 in the episode. Surprised Burnett did release photos of him in the other shirts.
