Really I tried to do an archives search to see if someone talked about this in January when it came out in theaters...Alpha Dog came out on DVD recently and I watched it over the weekend...
I thought the movie was well done (a bit long in places) and Justin Timberlake was surprisingly the best actor. He really did a great job and he really showed more dimensions to his character than the other. Sharon Stone has a tremendous scene, shot ala fake documentary, she plays the mother of the kidnapped and murdered 15 year old.
The story was so compelling to me...how could this ShlT happen???
It was based on the true story of Jesse James Hollywood who is expected to go to trial soon. Go to the external links part and watch the Unsolved mysteries on you tube in 2 parts..there's also a you tube of him and the actual shooter on you tube about 6 mos before the crime.
Jesse escaped to Brazil while all of his friends were tried and convicted...They finally captured him in 2005 and there has been delay about the movie...the prosecutor was actually thrown off the case because he gave all of his documents, etc. to the director of Alpha Dog. Jesse's father, Jack Hollywood, played by Bruce Willis in the movie, supposedly funded Jesse's stint in Brazil and felt Betrayed by the movie.
I just wanted to see what others thought of it. Dbf didn't much care for it...I find these horrible true life crime stories completely fascinating. Any of the LA peeps know the latest?
