Please keep all sig pic free discussion of tonight's show on this thread until it finishes airing 2-3 minutes after it is supposed to end on the West Coast unless they edit it to fit the time allotted when it isn't live.Well just two hours of hot milk cocktails heavy sedatives sleep inducing filler spectacular performances clips and what not to wade through before we get the 3.5 seconds of content we are waiting for. Warning, this thread will likely get very slow near the end of the show on the East Coast. Very very slow. Like someone poured molasses in whatever you connect to the internet with slow. 300 baud slow (my first connection speed, gack I'm old). Be patient and I'll get the results up ASAP.

(some BS Mr. Mean intro) KC: So how did you guys feel about last night's finale? It was amazing. Simon: It was a great show, but it was very interesting - we were just saying, it was one thing watching it, listening to it in the room, but then you go back and watch it on TV and it was like...it's like a different show. Randy: It was alot closer than we recalled it. KC: So do you agree with the "knockout" comment? Simon: NO! No, no. (with wide eyes and shaking head. seriously.)...(some KC BS)... For us, 'cause it's very loud, very echo-y, when you watch it back on TV, the speaker is this small (fingers), and you're like (skeptical face) "This isn't quite as I remembered." Randy: Especially, it's a new theater, a different place, it was very different. KC: So how are you guys feeling? Simon: I would have called it a draw, but I think maybe the other guy's got a slight advantage. Randy: It could go either way, Cookie or... Simon: Imagine wasn't that good. (this emphasis is mine) Justin: What's your general overview of the Davids all throughout the season? Simon: Well, I think that, look, one had the pressure of being the front runner, the other one just wasn't in the running. Suddenly, he gets better, better, better. So he went in with a momentum. And I think we may have helped him last night by calling it so much for the other one. We'll see. (NO SCHMIDT Cowell. Cougars for Cook!) Randy: He got alot of sympathy from alot of people.
-------- OK. First off, I'm WAY to invested and emotional right now. Just confessing that right off the bat. But WHA? Was last night Simon's biggest mind-f? Or is he back-pedalling because he's seen the numbers and needs to save face knowing that Cookie (pretty Cookie) pulled it out? Frankly I could see it either way. DCFTMFW!! Edited for minor formatting - and to say it's hard to transcribe off the DVR! I wanted my foot pedals!

Too much drek to sit through for 3 or 4 numbers by my faves. SYTYCD, on the other hand, I've gone both years and plan to go again this fall (even though it hasn't even started yet! see you all tomorrow!) It would be nice if after the big tour, Cook goes out on a smaller tour like Elliot or Taylor did - Elliot played a really nice venue here in Milwaukee that I would KILL to see Cook in. (didn't see Elliot, but should have) edited for clarity. I was up too late last night. Heh.

Yeah for DC! WTG all the voters for DC!
I find it interesting that the show is emphasizing the margin of victory that DC has over DA. Is that so the DA fans won't revolt or anything? Did you all catch Paula's giving Simon a big hug right after DC won...while Randy was just sitting there? I think the whole show moved along fairly well. I wasn't thrilled with a couple of things but I don't expect to like everything. Like Jordin. Someone buy Carrie U. a meal. Congrats, Carrie on your CMA award. Glad we got another group number at the end so that early number wasn't the only thing. LOL at David H getting the "naked" line. He seemed to enjoy it, too. I didn't get my wish of Kelly C or Taylor, but 19 isn't making any $$ with them, so I guess that's why we get more Carrie. DC! You did it! Good job! Looking forward to whatever you do in the future. Any collaborations with MJ, perchance? I read that DC and MJ might write together.

I just finished watching while I was reading your commentaries and enjoyed both immensely. I honestly enjoyed the show and I can't believe I did. Didn't FF thru too much of the actual content.I thought Jordin had serious throat issues. I started jumping around when they announced DC so much that my dog went crazy barking. I thought they both did a good job at what they do, but David Cook was just so polished and confident in his abilities. Archie seems like a really sweet kid and I'm not sure that he is emotionally prepared for this kind of a step yet. I got the feeling that Cook really cared about DA. All in all, it was a good season and I look forward to seeing more of David Cook!

This was an excellent finale! From the really good group sings, to the special guests, to Renaldo , to the end results. Very little to complain about (Donna Summer).And seeing the top 12 reminded me how really talented most of them (Amanda excepted) really are. Some of the song choices they made created some not so good moments, and a couple of bad nights, but I blame the producers for that...Mariah Carey, ALW, Dolly Parton. But overall, a talented group, and a great, fun season!

And for Snidget, whose fingers got tired, but thank you for all the thread hosting that you do--here's what the judges said just before Ryan announced the results:
"Perhaps sensing that the outcome was in doubt, Simon backtracked on Wednesday. "I want to congratulate both of you. I went back home to watch it, and it wasn't quite so clear-cut as we called it," he said. The other judges agreed. "You dudes brought it down to the wire. I'm so happy that it's the two of you standing there," Randy said. "You're both winners, baby. Both." And Paula, phrasing things in her own unique way, added, "You two are truly amazing. It's odd that it's called the finale when it's anything but the final — it's the beginning of the start of the destinies of your career. I'm so proud. And just remember sometimes you think it's all about winning but it's the things sometimes that we lose that remind us of how truly special we are as people."
