I'm happy about for you that Paula chose a dope song, would have liked to see you playing the piano but it doesn't matter you are in the zone. Paula. I gotta tell you it was a pure and stunning performance and you were a storyteller. Simon. It was very good, no surprises, a bit predictable. It was good, I don't think it was outstanding.

Yep Randy, she likes Alicia enough to sing her song on that other singing talent show she was on...what was it...got cancelled, oh yeah "The One".Oh this time she is standing and not sitting on the piano. Randy. I thought that would work well on you, I could see your heart beaming. I am so happy you are peaking at the right time that is why you are here at #3 Paula proud you are the last lady standing. Hard to do a song so associated with a singer but you did it. Simon. I wish Randy picked something where you didn't sound like the original, you look gorgeous by the way.

Dude, check it out, I've been a David Cook fan since day one, you can sing the phone book too, I wish Simon hadn't picked something so predictable, you are a rocker I wanted you to rock. Paula. It is about you David, not these two. That is one of my favorite song and you are my second favorite person who sings it. Simon thinks it is one of his best performances to date. This is what makes you brilliant because you take risks and it is original and round one goes to Cook and Cowel. Oh, that was his Mom they kept pointing the camera on, how sweet.

Full disclosure: I am fully on the Cookie train.I agree with Simon, this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Nice on the gentle head voice...this kid knows how to build, and he's got more control of his instrument that either Syesha or Archie. And WAY more range. Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I think David's dad is my dentist. Randy is an arsehole. For once, thank you Paula for bringing it back on track.

In a short silver sparkley dress.Guy playing the bass on stage with her. Meh for me, it was OK, but not great. Randy. Very interesting song choice. You sang it amazingly well, great performance. Paula, you look lovely, I'm surprised you picked this song, I don't think it shows me who you are as an artist. Simon. I think you will probably regret that tomorrow, you had a chance to show you are a contemporary artist, but you did a lame cabaret performance.

Playing electric guitar.Cougars for Cook sign. Randy. I love that band. Performance wise wasn't your best, a little pitchy. Paula, hard to get a song into a minute and a half, felt like you got to the middle by the end. Simon, not much I can add, what I expected, not the best melodic song, all three had an OK middle round, one more round to go.

(wow, boards are slow, must be alot of traffic)Who sang Switchfoot last year or the year before? Didn't someone? This is pretty, and nice, but I bet he gets dinged for not being "David." I likey though, and again - kid knows how to build. Oh lawdy, Randy knows the producer. David programmed his three songs - this was the middle one. The middle of a trilogy is always the most problematic.

Wait a minute - I'm back at Greendale Intermediate School, swooning over Mr. Fogelberg. OK.Yawn, yawn, yawn. Same old David. What I miss with this simple, pretty, song, is the flutey, pure sound of Fogelberg's tenor. David's more of a reed. It's probably just me. Quit with the phonebook, Randy, and I don't think anyone could sing this song and make it "hot" - it's just not a hot song.

Again with the high-school level choreography. At least it's a different type of song. I may have found her interesting had she sung more stuff like this. It didn't look like it fit her - I think she's too much of a nerd, but thinks she's too much of a diva. And did she drop some lyrics? And she's surprised he called it "Rhianna-esque?" The only reason it doesn't seem like it's her type of song is because she looked like she felt it was beneath her. The producers apparently wanted to hear her do something more marketable...and she wouldn't. Not that she couldn't, I think she wouldn't.

My fingers are crossed. I don't know about this Diane Warren/Aerosmith stuff. Kinda overwrought. (oops, she's in the audience).I like the arrangement, and good on you for not trying to do a Tyler impersonation like Michael did. Disappointing choice by the producers, but I think David did a good job with it. I wonder if some people will be confused by him holding the unresolved note at the end? Paula's kinda ballsy tonight! It's actually cute. It also sort of looks like TCO has been officially moved to DCook. There was ever-so-gentle criticism of Archie, and almost nothing negative about Cookie.

Ten thoughts and or questions about the show:1. No Clive Davis and his self congratulatory speeches about which former idol is doing the most for him. I guess that their showering Jordin with the gold album and platinum single awards earlier this season was it for the year. 2. The whole show had weird timing, particularly with the Idols starting their songs--like Ryan had a hard time doing proper transitions. 3. There’s a rumor that Ryan might take over the Larry King show and not be on AI next year; so are we seeing some of Ryan’s final shows? Is that why things seemed a bit “off”? 4. Syesha’s face when receiving the judges’ comments held the expressions we have seen from many others who have preceded her. The Idol thinks the judges really like them and can not understand why, suddenly, they are panning a performance that is as good as or better than ones they have previously performed. Their face shows the recognition of “oh, I guess I am this week’s sacrificial lamb after all” and their crushed demeanor in the harsh show biz world. Kristy Lee, Brooke, Carly, and Jason have all had that expression before. 5. Why is Simon always the one who gets to declare “who wins the round or the night”? 6. Why wasn’t David or David given feedback about how this week’s performance compared to last week’s the way Syesha was? It was as if they had a different standard for judging Syesha, which was really an agenda wrapped up in a different standard. 7. Did anyone notice that at least 2/3 of the songs covered last night were from Sony/BMG labels? Way to keep the $$ in the partnership family. 8. Why is Ryan’s hair shaped to come to a point in the front of his head? It looks weird to me, like one of those Kewpie baby dolls, only done without the swirl. 9. Who thinks the race is as close as Ryan proclaims it to be? 10. Was DA getting a trifle de-pimped last night, perhaps? Is this really the first time Simon noticed his “dancing”? Or has he just been saving that comment for this week?
