PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the
complete guidelines.
As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

When one of us dies, how will the rest of us find out? Have our spouses or children do it? Leave it in our will? This is something that has bothered me since I first became obsessed attached to this board. Being that I am no stranger to death, I've wondered about this.I told Sweetie to notify you guys, but he just laughed and said they'd have to drag him off my funeral pyre to do it. A sweet little thought of him to want to do that, but hardly practical. Should there be a way to do it? Like if someone is missing for a week, have a friend from the boards check up on them. Ideas? Thoughts? It wasn't the butt of a mule. I was kissing a human being with a soul. -Heath Ledger on his famous liplock with Jake Gyllenhaal

I apologize for reviving this thread, but in looking through some of the archives today, I was wondering about people I have not seen around here for some time and wondered if anyone know what happened to them.In particular - sleeeve I_am_He Festerfan GeorgeTirebiter Mistofleas dangerkitty NightScribe also lisapoho and anotherkim (but I think I have seen them posting more recently) And there are probably more names I will think of later! As a long time lurker, I was just curious about whether these people no longer post here or just in certain forums that I have not been to--- Anyway, I enjoyed their posts and contributions to this place. Awe inspiring Tribe sig!!!

Sadly, misto and GTirebiter are long gone. Not morbidly long gone, just no longer posting.I've seen I_AM_HE and FesterFan, they usually just show up for survivor, so I imagine they'll resurface at any time now. I've seen Pooh and AnotherKim posting fairly recently. As you noted. I'm pretty sure sleeeve's around here somewhere. Then again, I'm not the knowall about his whereabouts. NightScribe and dangerkitty I haven't seen in a long time. Anyone else got their finger on their pulse?

you may all assume the best! You would be missed, ya dork! <--said with lvoe I guess it's the same for me. If I'm not around here for a certain amount of time, I guess it would be safe to assume. I have no idea what that "certain amount of time" would be. *shrug*

I have wondered this myself. I have no idea what would happen. My son is registered here, but only posts in the sports forum and has all of 3 posts (and has been here a year). He's not into "messaging" too much.I doubt very much he would think about notifying you. I suppose I could tell him to do so, but then I would have to have a reality discussion with a 15 y.o. I'm not prepared to do that right now. I suppose if you didn't hear from me for awhile, you could assume... I also have to wonder how many people who have just "disappeared" from the boards didn't do so just because they wanted to stop posting. I wonder where they are, what has happened to them and if they're alright.

I think I would check with the mods first because of banning issues before I would post a thread like that. I also have wondered if anyone would know if something happened to me. My DD is an irregular poster here, so I think she might know to come here and post something. Amazing sig pic by Tribe, 2006!

...but I'm way too tired to remember what the Google keywords are to find it. I think it sends out mail to everyone on your list after a certain amount of time passes with no acivity. I don't remember if it's capable of posting to threads.

>I guess for those with no >IRL people to contact OT, >the only polite solution would >be to commit OT-icide in >front of everyone here. Wait! so that would mean that you would have to guess that you were going to die, in advance, commit OTcide and then kick off? Um. Suuuuuure. Nah, that >wouldn't work cause EMTGrl would >just show up to revive >you. Maybe. Depends on my mood. *whistles off to go read the newspaper* ;) I don't miss much, huh? I don't know anyone IRL on OT...dunno what to tell you... It's a good question.

We ought to check out whether or not it's worth the trouble. RIP Kingfish. And nowhere in heaven or on earth can such a fine, talented, compassionate, amusing, and manly a man as he be found. As long as there are RTVW servers, he will live on in the archives, and in our hearts. RIP Kingfish. And I become just another X on the eternal checklist. (I miss me already).

Thanks.I do not think so. I spend most of my time in Survivor or BB and a couple of other threads, but not a lot of time here. I do have a life outside of here. The bigger question is where will you spend eternity when you die?

And, that brings up another point. I read, and sometimes post, on show boards, but most of my posts are here these days. And, no matter many times I may visit show forums, there's no way I'm able to visit all of them every day. But, I have not only seen you here, I've also seen you on the other boards - even boards I may only lurk on from time to time. I could envision someone dying and having it announced on whatever board they most often post on, but unless everyone they have "met" is reading that board, at that time, the notice would still be missed. I move that if anyone gets word and posts the news elsewhere, it also gets posted on OT, as a matter of course. Even if they don't post on OT. Duplicate post? Too bad. For a death in the family I think webby would make an exception to the rules. Pack Alpha Status Accorded by Tribe blogging's scary

No no, Rudy, It's not "I have no Idea". What, have you all of the sudden become someone else? It’s “I dunno". Remember? Sheesh. Dementia creep, or Alzheimer’s, I guess. (And I must remember to be compassionate)

Mine is easy, being that I'm a huge reality tv celebrity I'm sure you will see it covered ad nauseum on all the national news outlets.
