"Question on American Idol Votes..."
Hello everyone! Can someone please clarify things on American Idol votes? My friends back in the Philippines are asking if they can send in their text votes for our Ramielle Malubay and is it counted? since Philippines has it's own Franchise of American Idol? Just want to make sure their money is not waisted on texting their votes for Ramielle. Please anyone, I need your answer asap! thank you.

I believe for the votes to count they need to be from a USA-based phone number. I've seen people overseas claim they can vote. All seem to have some technique for making sure the phone number the vote comes in from appears to be from the US.
My understanding is that if you vote outside the voting window for that phone numbers location, or from a number that is known to be outside the US (based on area code I assume) then I think it usually gets a busy signal or other indication it did not go through.
Not as sure about text message on the indication of going through or not, you can tell if your phone call goes through.
