LAST EDITED ON 02-21-08 AT 08:12 PM (EST)Live and 4 of the most talented people ever on the planet are going home. {Cue theme} Busy week, 28 million votes. Gee Ryan tongue bath Randy and Paula much? But he calls Simon monotonous. Paula should it effect the voting that some of these people are professional plants? Oh no, they went through all the stuff everyone else did, and everyone has been trying to make it and all these past idols had deals. Simon are you using reverse psychology. It is just an opinion and one of the opinions here really matters. Some star treatment, the private plane top 24 photo shoot video. Can I ask the Idol people to stop trying to justify themselves, it just comes off badly. Top 24 singing songs from the 60's, Oh goody, group number.

Now that we've had the overture, ready to get into some serious filler.Dealing with the guys first. Look back at Tuesday's show. And they again repeat the lie that the judges keep cramming down our throats that these are the bestest evah. Recrap of the singing. Time for our results. Let's have a little chat. Garrett called up to Ryan. Tonight I have to say goodbye to you. Well that was fast. I wanted to ask you if you thought Simon was too tough or personal. He is happy with the way he is. Advice from Randy, work it out. Every time you step on stage it has to be your best, and it wasn't your best. Singing his way out.

The person leaving us tonight is Amy Davis. Not even the Worsters could save her. Paula says to get more experience and pick the right songs. Her chance to do what she wants. Ryan, what will you remember the most. Can't pick one thing. Singing for her goodbye. ETA *Yikes* Paula shaking her groove thang after the break, or at least that is what I thought Ryan threatened us with for not voting to keep Amy on the show.

LAST EDITED ON 02-21-08 AT 09:05 PM (EST)Now for the other guy that is going home. Calls Chikezie and Colton down and dims the lights. Colton, review of comments. Chikezie, review of comments. Simon didnt' get the 40 years ago when he was 20 comment by Ryan. Colton is leaving us tonight. Chikezie is safe. Paula, he should keep on singing, you are young and talented and you have a whole career ahead of you. You have millions of fans already. Take your time, pick the right songs. Simon says get a good job and sing as a hobby. Paula and Randy say just keep singing. They do the farewell montage for the 4 leaving tonight. Colton actually gets a couple of minutes to sing us out. What an ontime ending? Who knew they could do that?

You can also consider the fact that there were 4 teenaged boys -David A. (17), Danny (18), Colton (18), Garrett (17). Two got a lot of story, two didn't. The tween votes are going to be spread around with most going to the "known" guys (who were the better singers too). You could probably add in Jason Castro to the mix who's only 20. Colton's odds weren't very good and the last chair editing didn't help either.

http://www.newsleader.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080215/NEWS01/80215001/1002 At the start of taping for that show, he had no idea he would have to wait nearly all day to learn his fate.
The judges "made a lot of changes ... all day long, switching stuff around," Berry said. "Ryan (Seacrest) pulled me to go far before the last person. I was about middle way through. And then one of the producers said, 'No, this was one of the changes,' and sat me back down. I had no idea what that meant. I sat there all day. I just watched people go, go, go." Berry said he wasn't upset by judge Simon Cowell's explanation for "100 percent" disagreeing with Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson to cut Ensley. "(Cowell) and Nigel the producer both said to me that it wasn't that he was disagreeing 100 percent that I should be in the top 24. It was nothing against me. It was that he 100 percent disagreed that Kyle shouldn't be." This gives a fascinating insight and based on what we know and we saw, it's quite possibly they were deliberately setting Colton up to be fodder in case one of their preferred contestants had a bad night. Colton probably wasn't the 12th in, but they really give that impression by pairing him with a popular guy who likely was the last one cut. Amazing how they screw with us. As for past seasons, I know last year that both the chair winners went out at F16 (Antonella and Sundance) and I remember Amanda Avila being a chair winner going out in that round.

I think Simon was opposed to Colton from the get-go. In the final 24 show, Simon told the politician-boy (who was apparantly cut for Colton), that he was 100% opposed to the decision. Of those who went this week, I think Colton was a mistake to have been in the top 24 to begin with. He should have stuck with Broadway, or auditioned to be on a show on Disney channel (that last could even be why they put him through to the top 24, given the late successes of High School Musical and Hannah Montana). JoAnne got as much air time during the auditions as many of the girls did. The other evictees tonight might not have gotten much airtime during auditions/Hollywood week as some of the other contestants, but neither did Jason Castro, and I think he's a no-brainer for the top 12. Kady Malloy's audition was shown, but she wasn't featured during Hollywood week. I don't remember Asia'h or AlexANdrea being featured during Hollywood week, either. In other words, I'm sure it didn't help them that they were not pimped during auditions/Hollywood week, but they weren't the only ones, and other contestants overcame that hurdle.

I barely remember Joanne getting any time. I remember her audition, which I believe was from one of the first couple episodes. A non-memorable audition plus no time in Hollywood is not good.A's'i'a'h'''' was shown quite heavily throughout, specifically (repeating) the sob story about her father. Additionally, unlike Joanne, Kady had an extremely memorable audition that we were reminded of during the shows: the Britney imitation. Plus, she's more in the mainstream of being hot as compared to Joanne. Alexandrea was never seen and she performed well enough to stay, as did Castro. The difference is that they started with a disadvantage and got over it. For all intents and purposes, Colton or Garrett were no worse than Jacuzzi or David Hernandez or most of the other guys, so it came down to exposure. It's possible to overcome it, but if this were a fair competition, they shouldn't have to. No matter how well any of the guys did, the odds are bad that they would overcome the vote of, say, Michael Johns (Audition and two separate Hollywood Performances) or David Archletta (see above). Yes, the Devil Rays can win the AL East, but when facing the Sox/Yanks with a significant advantage to begin with...

Keeping in mind that I never seriously watched the show until last year, and season 3 was my only other season of really watching...I still think Daughtry's pretty good, Blake Lewis was good but overrated, Chris Sligh was fun, and George Huff from season 3 was very underrated. Rockers are usually my favorites (I want to like David Cook but haven't seen him shine, and I was a fan of Gina Glocksen last season.) That said, I don't want to like Amanda this season. She's a one-trick pony playing the sympathy angle. I would much rather have seen Joanne stick around. Yummy. Oh yeah, and I rather enjoyed her performance Wednesday. It was a hell of a lot better than some of the crap-after-crap I thankfully only heard and didn't see.
