Waiting on Fairplay now, so we will give them until 2PM (EST) to make a selection. If they don't, they "Pass" for this round and will make it up at the end of the game. In the event we don't finish before 2AM (EST), I will officially call the game and declare a winner based on how many slections each tribe has. For example if two have 14, and one 13 we will take the first 13 Survivors for each tribe and tally up the score. Thanks for your participation! Week 6 Immunity ChallengeWelcome to our third Immunity Challenge! I'm setting this up prior to posting our main entry thread (which should be up sometime Saturday) as it has three parts. Parts one and two may determine your fate in this week's Immunity Challenge but you won't know for sure until I fully disclose the rules during Part III. Part I is simple. You will determine the order you select in parts II and III. If you choose to go first in Part II, you will go last in Part III. If you choose to go second in Part II you will also go second in Part III. If you choose to go last in Part II you will go first in Part III. There will be three rounds in Part II and 12-15 rounds in Part III. They will rotate just as they did in previous IC's. I can't tell you anything more than that at this time. So for Part 1, I need one representaive from each tribe to determine your order. First come, first served for Part I. If Mad Dog posts first and requests to go first during Part II it's theirs. That would also mean they go last in Part III. Once the order is determined for Part II I will post more info. Part III I plan on running Friday through Monday. In Part 2 each tribe selected three Survivors each. Unbeknownst to you, the 3 Survivors you selected will have huge ramifications on the remainder of the game. Here's how. Part 3 Rules/Instructions1. The object of this game is to assemble a tribe of 16 Survivors, 8 men and 8 women each. You each selected three tribe members during our Part 2 "fate" segment. Fate? Yes because the three Survivors you've already picked will help determine the rest of your tribe. 2. Tribes beginning Part 3:
Mad Dog: Sandra, Richard, Lex. (5 points)
Fluffypillows: Kathy, Keith, Ethan (7 points)
Fairplay: Jon, Rob C., Colleen (12 points) See updates on your tribe thread Your point values are determined by the Survivor's finish. Your goal is to finish with the lowest score. A first place finish is worth 1 point, a 16th place finish worth 16 points. Each Tribe must select 8 men and 8 women and no Survivor may be selected twice. The 9 chosen Survivors are now off the board. 3. How you select your remaining tribe members. Simple. You will start by only using the available letters from the names of the first three Survivors you chose to form the names of future tribe members. Letters Beginning Part 3

Fluffypillows: Kathy, Keith, Ethan = A, E, H, I, K, N, T, Y
Fairplay: Jon, Rob C., Colleen = B, C, E, J, L, N, O, R See updates on your tribe thread You can use the letters you have available more than once, but you cannot select anybody unless you have all the letters to form the name as listed below. For example, Mad Dog could use R three times, or Fairplay could use B twice. I took the names as listed on the CBS Website, so you cannot use nicknames. For example you cannot use Sue instead of Susan or Vee instead of Vecepia. We are picking first names only with one exception. In many instances we have had Survivors with the same names and same spellings, so when names are repeated you must also include the first letter of their last name. For example: Jenna L. or Jenna M. Rob M. or Rob C. (who is taken). Kim J. or Kim P. Ryan A., Ryan O. or Ryan S. Kelly W. or Kelly G. Sean K. or Sean R. John C. or John R. 4. Adding letters to your pool. Obviously each tribe is severely handicapped by who they may choose based on the first three selections. Four times during this contest you may add to your available pool of letters by choosing a name and adding "Pool Add" to your subject line. You get the value (rank) of this Survivor plus you are charged an additional 10 points for the first time you do this. For instance if you "Pool Add Gervase" you will pick up 7 points (his rank) and 10 points (pool add penalty) for a total of 17 points that round. That Survivor also becomes a part of your tribe. You will be able to use those new letters for future picks. The second time you "Pool Add" it costs you 15 points (plus player value) and the third time it costs you 20 points (plus player value) and the fourth time costs you 25 points (plus player value). Anytime you just select a player based on your available letters you simply get his or her rank/value. If you do a "Pool Add" it must be listed in your subject line along with your pick. How often you use this is based on strategy or need for more letters. You can do a "Pool Add" at any time. 5. The Eraser. Each tribe will be able to use the "Eraser" one round during this contest. What is an "Eraser" you ask? For strategic reasons you can "erase" a Survivor off the remaining list in order to prevent another team from selecting him or her. Meaning you don't have the letters to select this particular Survivor but you want to prevent a team that does from selecting him or her. During your "Eraser" round you get no points and do not add a Survivor to your tribe, it's purely a defensive move to remove a Survivor from our list. You can use your "Eraser" at any time, but it can only be used once. 6. The same tribe member cannot pick in back-to-back rounds in the same Part. However if you picked last for your tribe in Part 2 you can go pick first in Part 3. You just can't pick back-to-back after this. In the event this happens, you will have five points added to your tribe's score. However your pick will remain. Please follow the rotating round order below. 7. In an attempt to keep this game organized I'm creating 3 sub-threads for each tribe. That way when it's your turn to select you can simply post underneath the last person on your tribe. No coaching on this thread! In other words you can't tell someone who to pick. If you want to strategize via PM, that's okay. 8. Over the weekend we will go a maximum of three rounds per day. Meaning no further than round 3 on Friday, no further than Round 6 on Saturday, and no further than Round 9 by Sunday. I'm doing this to allow peeps not online on weekends to participate on Monday. In the event that things get messed up while I am out please stop and wait for me to correct it. 9. This game ends when each team has assembled a tribe of 8 men and 8 women. Points are determined by the value of each Survivor you pick plus the number of times you "Pool Add". Obviously the higher a Survivor finishes, the more value they have. Echo, I really like the ICs. I am going to give a little honest constructive critisizim, so I hope it's alright. Be careful on making them too ambitious or too long. Three or four rounds max of a nice puzzle would be great. I think this one is too long. You have to take into consideration that the boards are slow on weekends and I don't know how other people feel, but I don't want to wait until the night Early Bird expires to see who wins immunity, ya know? Short, sweet, simple, but challenging. That's the key. Keep up the good work!

Echo, I think that the challenges have been a lot of fun so far, even though we Fairplays haven't had much success as yet. Maybe it's our short attention spans (I think we've been waiting on Mad Dog's pick since around noon today....). I wouldn't change a thing!

Okay I think for Monday I will have a two hour limit per round beginning at 9AM EST until 6PM EST. The boards are more active during weekdays as many people post from work. If any tribe goes two hours and doesn't make their pick, they will simply pass for that round and make it up after the last pick. I was hoping to do the last four rounds on Monday but it looks like we will have a few more!!! I don't like putting deadlines during weekends because so many people are not online.

Mad Dog has this mathematically wrapped it up now, but since I *may* use your tribes for a later game, please go ahead and make your final selection. No need to use your Eraser as it won't alter the game at this point.This game may have been a bit long, but overall it ran pretty smoothly. Mad Dog had an awesome strategy and I was shocked Fluffys or Fairplay didn't try to use their Eraser to stop them! It could have definitely altered the game! That's why I put that in. Oh well!!! Anyway I'm officially declaring Mad Dog the winners of this IC. They have Immunity this week. Congrats! But go ahead and pick your last tribe member just in case I use this for something else. Actually there was strategy involved in this game based on what name(s) teams added (Pool Add) and the Eraser (a block) that nobody used. For example when you added a name for new letters it had a direct affect on other teams. Who you added (based on the new letters) definitely helped determine the outcome. Mad Dog chose to add names that had unique letters which gave them an advantage because no one tried to counter this. Also, sometimes team's took a name worth one point less that nobody else could pick (because they didn't have the letters) instead of picking a common name worth a couple of points more to prevent a team following them from taking them. The strategy in the middle rounds determined this game. As for the posting once thing? Well that would favor the tribe with the most members so I doubt I will do that. I'll try to come up with something shorter next time, but it's hard having a game that lasts 3-4 rounds that gives enough people a chance to play. I'll try to stick with 7-9 rounds. I'm not complaining or anything. I love the games and appriciate the time you put into them. I just think it would nice for something different next time around. All three so far have been a variation on a theme. I think something not done in round format would allow more players to participate. It's not that I think everyone should get to play everytime. Even on the show, someone has to sit out. If you can come up with something where everyone contributes one part during a set time, that would be really cool. I don't know what that would be though, maybe a trivia contest or an email relay or something. I dunno, just a thought.Regardless, keep up the greta work and have fun witht the next challenge. (I'll be out of town Thursday-Monday. I'll miss whatever you end up doing) Go Fairplay. I need immunity to save my picks. I'm down to 27 already

I too would like to offer my congratualtions to the Mad Dogs for a well played game. You started off with a big advantage, and ran with it. I agree with Echo, it would have been interesting to see what may have happened if somebody would have used the eraser someplace along the line.
As I said before, I'm among those unfortuantes that can't get on line while at work (in fact, the school computers are blocked from accessing any message board sites) and since I don't get home until around 5pm PT, that pretty much was it for me.
Thanks again to the other FLUFFERNUTTERS who participated, especially realityluver, Steen, dreamerbeliever and tinman (and, stealing a line from last night's Oscar Awards -- All of New Zealand). We'll get them next time!
Finally, but certainly not leastly(?), Echo -- my highest praise goes out to you once again for a great game. I think the modifications are spot on. Keep it up.
