"Gabe's lack of weight loss"
I know someone who is a friend of Gabe's. She saw Gabe about a month after the show stopped taping. At that point she did not know he was a contestant on the show. According to her, "Gabe looked like he always looked". Does that mean he doesn't make it very far. Or the survivors were able to get enough food that the survivors didn't lose their normal amounts of weight?

...I'm sure we'll find out once the show starts, but I did read in the Chicago Sun Times that the reason no rations were provided was because there already was an abundance of food on the island. So, maybe weight loss won't be a factor this go around.
However, we should keep this in the back of our minds if weight loss is a factor. But, I should tempor that by saying that this is a 3rd rate rumor in terms of source so we might just want to forget it all together unless it can be cooraborated in some way.

Gabe is skinny to begin with, so the weight loss is never as dramatic. And with the Holidays thrown in between the end of filming and a MONTH later, he could have easily regained any lost weight.
