I haven't heard the original of this song, so no comment on my weekly "omg he's copying" binge.
As for the singing, it was really nasally again, the judges will praise it out of the park, but the high voice was a real turnoff to me and I thought he was singing through his nose.

I have to say that Sanjaya gets props tonight -- TOTALLY unexpected and actually pretty darn good. It's nice to see him loosen up and let loose. He just needs time to grow into his talent.
And the crying fan (psycho groupee in the making)?? So adorable. You know, if little preteen girls are that into Sanjaya, I say let him stay. It harkens back to the days of Shaun, Donny, David Cassidy & Davey Jones -- good clean teen idols (not super talented, but X factor and rated PG).

Is it wrong to rewind the tape and watch it again because I liked it too? This was the Van Halen version of the song. Who knew that meek Sanjaya had a rocker inside. He secured 5th or 6th place easily with that. Plus the crying fan pimping that he got. So many preteen girls want to be the one who got the hug. AI/Fox wants the viewers and the votes, as well as the media writing about Sanjaya still being in the running, etc.

Gina, Phil and maybe Stephanie.
Some of the contestants raised themselves a notch this week, including Chris Richardson, Blake and maybe Haley. Chris and Blake look like they'll be around a while to round out the middle.
I don't think 'worry' is even in Sanjaya's vocabulary, so let's not add him, shall we?

They have 3 big voices this season already and there does not seem to be room for Stephanie. This season if you stand out and are different from the front runners you have a shot of lasting longer.
