choobie 14 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Got Milk? Spokesperson" 05-14-06, 08:46 AM (EST) "Next Season" My thoughts on what really needs to be changed for next season... Having more than just one way to vote would be good, How about through the internet as well? AI should really think of another way. Also, After watching AI and reading numerous threads about the judges, I also think that the judging has become too silly, scripted, and just plain boring to listen to the same comments week after week! I say, BOOT ALL THREE JUDGES AND GET SOME NEW ONES FOR NEXT SEASON! Anyone else agree? -Choobie   Top

"RE: Next Season" Well, I really like the Rock Star and the Dancing with the Stars formats for the votes. They limit how many votes you can have and they have phone and internet voting. I know AT&T might get angry, but as it is, it seems that every year, and it also appears on Canadian Idol, we have one boot that many people feel is wrong. I think Rock Star got the man that they wanted, although, I know that INXS had a say in who would be their frontman or woman. Canadians are proud that JD won that show and I think he is the only one who really, really wanted to be in that band and not go pursue a solo career. Three is the perfect number.   Top

You can't discount the fact that American Idol is THE NUMBER ONE SHOW ON TELEVISION BAR NONE. Fox/19/Fremantle is not going to change a thing. Especially the judges, since they all have contract extensions of 3 years (I think). Re: hte voting - there are two ways to vote. First, the tradinal phone numbers, and secondly - text messaging. Internet voting would raise more complaints and accusations of tampering than doing any good at all. Nothing will be changed, and nothing needs ot be changed. geekboy   Top

"RE: Next Season" I can't totally agree with nothing needs to be changed,geekboy For one we all know the judges are under contract. what I said was just a figure of speech.( boot them). the judging is lame and could be improved but it won't happen I know. The voting is also stirring up alot of complaints and accusations already duh? And there are more than only two ways to vote, think about it for awhile and you'll get it. One thing I do agree is that change probably won't happen. But it should. it's not like, "don't fix it, if it aint broke" theory,definitely some parts are not working well. -Choobie   Top

"RE: Next Season" The voting process stirs up complaints at least once a season when a 'favorite' gets voted out 'early'. Think Tamyra, think Jennifer Hudson, think Chris Daughtry. The fact that fans complain doesn't equate to a problem with the voting process. The fact that Chris got voted out is simply because not enough of his fans voted for him. Period. End of story. There hasn't been any other complaints about teh voting system this season. And would you care to shed some light onto this third voting method? And finally, what parts are not working well? AI5 is smashing a whole lot of records. geekboy   Top

"RE: Next Season" I retract my earlier statement that nothing should be changed for next season. I think this season proved one necessary change. Dump the "gender-equality" think and NOT require 12 girls/12 guys. Pick teh top 24 based on talent. Not gender. geekboy   Top

I think themes every week or singing celebrity songs not a great idea..Why not lets the Idols pick the songs they want to sing.. whoever ends up in the bottom 3 doesnt get to choose the top contestants get to choose the songs.. my problem with celebrity week is that they use the same people and the same songs.. its hard to hear a difft version of My Cherie Amour or A Song For you.. or ANYTHING by Sinatra.. maybe they would be better off picking songs the public doesnt know.. that way there is no comparison.. I would love to see a difft woman judge besides Paula who doesnt ever seem to take her medication before the show.. SHE IS SUCH A JOKE! I know she has a contract but WHY OH WHY?? particularly if she is banging the contestants.. I agree that the top 24 should be based on TALENT not gender Why do they keep adding phone numbers for people to call as the people get booted off?? I think that will make things more confusing for the public trying to remember numbers that are not even sequential.. Taylor has 3.6 9.. why not give him 123 or 789...why change the order? I understand the show has huge ratings but if we REALLY PAY ATTENTION to what is played on the radio that passes as music, most of it is CRAP.. so even though the people who come through Idol have talent, doesnt mean we will ever hear them on the radio ( for the exception of Kelly who is doing pretty damn well and I guess Carrie Underwood is doing well on the country charts).. I dont know how people like Britany, Jessica, Hilary Duff etc get played on pop radio yet Fantasia, Reuben, and even Clay we dont hear anything from?? I am pretty disenchanted this year because the season started pretty poor for me. I hope to be more inspired next year.   Top
