We don't know if he was a good guy who freaked out at the prospect of having a baby before he was ready, we don't know if he's truly a turkey who heartlessly dumped Jeanette because he didn't care, we don't know if they planned this baby together and circumstances caused him to run off and leave Jeanette bitter... there are many possibilities. The majority of 19-year-olds in the 1980's aren't always ready to think rationally to do the best thing in a tough situation.
>Having a baby as a result of stupidity is a different

Again, we don't know the circumstances of Jeanette's situation at the time so we can't pass judgment. People make mistakes all the time, some worse than others, but to label someone a slut simply because she's 19 years old is an injustice.
I do agree that she was way out of line to try and use self-pity as a single mom to a 13-year-old to survive on the boat. Age is irrelevant, really.
>I really dont think a 32yr old with a 13yr old daughter
>(do the math to see what a slut she was)
Ok just take a look at this statement. You're implying that she's a slut because of her age. Would she be less of a slut if she had the baby at 25 instead of 19 and the father still took off on her and the child? That's why I spoke up.
"What's wrong with her?"
"Oh, it's gonna blow up, dude... in 5 minutes, dude. It's gonna hit the (bleep) ceiling."
"It is?"
"Oh yeah." (maniacal laughter)
