I sniffled when Walt gave Vincent to Shannon...I sniffled when Sawyer told Jack about Daddy... But I bawled when Sun and Jin had their moment. Just so unexpected and so touching. These two actors are tremendous and I hope they get recognized around awards time. They are hands down my favorite characters on not only Lost but on all of TV. Most.Interesting. Story. I wonder if all the survivors were in rows that matched the lottery numbers? I never loved a show so much and yet still wished the whole show was over so we can find out what is going on!!!! I felt they gave us answers tonight to stuff we wanted to know but in the end it turns out that is not that important, we have to go further back. Is it Wednesday yet?

I wonder if all the survivors were in rows that matched the lottery numbers?Jack was in 23 B. Anna Lucille (sp?) was in 42 F. It seemed that a great deal of the conversation went into pointing out she was in the tail section of the plane. I suspect this isn't the last we'll see of her -- giving even stronger indication more survivors will be discovered (maybe those who answered Boone's distress call?). Lis

I agree with Justlis on this. Also remember in the episode where Jack was talking with the black woman. She said she believes her husband is still out there and to have faith. I think they were split up on the plane and he was in the tail section as well. I remember her sitting next to Jack on the plane but he was not next to her. There will definitely be surivivors from the tail section.

58. "I dunno" |
I think as narratives go, Michael makes more sense as the doomed raft guy. The Jin/Sun storyline is a really, really good one. It's complex. It's subtle. It's human. Watching Jin develop as a character holds a lot more intrigue than watching Michael. There's the language thing, the culture thing, the customs thing. With Michael it's just the parenting thing, and that's been done to death. It would be a bit maudlin to have Walt lose both parents within a few months of each other, but if Michael died a heroic death, then that serves its own narrative goals. There would also be a lot to do surrounding Walt's growth as relates to the tribe as a whole. I think Sawyer's absolutely safe. There are layers upon layers with this guy. Frankly, I'm glad they've cooled the Kate/Sawyer link, because that's the easy route with that character. He's got a lot to sort out. There are still some unanswered questions with him. Michael's story has pretty much been told. Yeah, if I'm writing the story, Michael goes next. Fester

78. "RE: 05/18 Episode Discusion" |
LAST EDITED ON 05-21-05 AT 01:08 AM (EST)Could Danielle finally be infected with the same "sickness" that her team originally was?? Would it explain why after showing no interest in the other survivors before, she comes to warn them. Oh and why would she say that the "Others" were coming and they only had 3 choices (Run, Hide or Die). The "others" did not kill her team...she did. The only thing that they took was the baby. Wouldn't the only people in danger be the ones protecting Claire's baby??? Hmmmm.... I didn't think about this. Jin, Michael, and Sawyer left on the raft. Look at who went with her: Locke, Jack, Kate, Hurley.... She has taken all of the strongest defenders of the baby with her -- to a stash of unstable dynamite. Could Danielle, for whatever reason, now only be the DIVERSION, to allow "The Others" access to Claire's baby? As pure speculation, is it possible she was captured and held by "The Others" (thus the scratches), and then offered her own Alex back (now that she's 16 and no longer a child) in return for helping them to capture the new child? Edited to add: I just now read the discussion further down the thread, in which it looks like Danielle rescued Claire and her baby from Ethan.... I wonder if she first tried to avoid the same fate for Claire's child, but now may be trying to rescue her own.... Good catch on the scratches on Ethan and Danielle.... Lis

45. "Missing scenes? RE: 05/18 Episode Discusion" |
I was reading the summary on abc.com, and there are 2 scenes there that I don't remember seeing last night. From: http://abc.go.com/primetime/lost/episodes/2004-05/23.html Back at the beach, Claire asks Rousseau how she knows her. She can't place it, but she knows they have met before. But that's impossible, and Rousseau says as much. Claire tells her about Ethan kidnapping her, that she escaped, but she can't remember how. Rousseau ignores her and busies herself with the new hiking boots she has obviously liberated from the camp. Something seems to click inside Claire. "You saved me, didn't you? That's why I remember you, you saved me from him." Rousseau gives a quick look to Claire and then to the baby. "We have never met." And with that she walks away.
and We FLASHBACK to the Sydney airport and see Sayid considering that same necktie on a rack with many others. A woman is helping him decide. She asks him what he will be using it for. "I'm going to see a woman." Sayid asks her to pick it for him and she points him towards the yellow one. As she rings it up she asks the girl's name and Sayid can't help but smile when he tells her. "Nadia." And as he is lost in the emotion of finally seeing his love again, the airport police arrive and ask him if he left a bag unattended earlier. He tries to tell them that he asked someone (Shannon) to watch it for him, but they aren't hearing it and tell him he needs to come with them. "Of course I do." Handcrafted by RollDdice

WOW...These seem a little too important to edit out. I also don't remember this: Charlie and Claire watch Rousseau from a distance and worry. Charlie does his best to comfort the girl he cares so much for, but it's an uphill battle. Claire tells Charlie that, when she escaped from Ethan -- however she got away -- she knew they would come back for her. Charlie realizes something. "Is that why you haven't named the baby?" Claire's eyes fill with tears, but remain firmly fixed on Rousseau. She nods her answer. It gives an ominous reason for Claire not naming the baby yet. Maybe the episode was just too long, but the information seems pretty important to me. TenPin

71. "The Black Rock and the explosives" |
Some questions:Approximately how old is the Black Rock? 200 years? 300? Older? I know nothing about maritime history and have no idea what era the Black Rock sailed in from, so can anyone help? Any guesses? Where did the explosives come from? In the preview the crates are clearly marked "Explosives" in black, modern era lettering. Ain't no way a 200 year old ship, much less a 300 year old ship had crates with that kind of lettering. Can anyone provide screen shots? I thought I saw a faint name on the back of ship, but I can't be sure. My VCR is not that great and the slow mo is rather shaky, and the pause is just as crappy. However I am quite positive the lettering of the explosives is fairly recent. Could Danielle's research party brought the explosives? Why move it to the Black Rock? Too many questions, not enough answers. Arghhhhhh!

84. "RE: The Black Rock and the explosives" |
LAST EDITED ON 05-23-05 AT 07:48 PM (EST)New to this board. Like this thread and wanted to post some comments, thoughts and questions. Sorry if I repeat previous discussions. The writing on the ship is Black Rock, Portsmouth. It appears no one knew each other prior to the flight but several people have crossed paths with others. Jack dad and Sawyer for one which was played out last week. Kate's mother was at Jack's wedding. (screen shot on lost-media.com). I think that Jin may be aware of who Hurley (Hugo) is because he was on Japanese tv. The scratches...Didn't Jack end up with scratches in the pilot eppi? When him, Kate and Charlie were running from the "monster" they got split up. When Kate and Charlie found Jack he seemed pretty calm for just being chased by that thing and saying he didn't see a thing he dove in the bushes or something like that. I think Jack saw it. Locke, Ethan and Danielle also have had scratches. There is no proof that Danielle has been on the island for 16 years. It has only been stated the the transmission is 16 years old. She could have been on the island much longer before sending that transmission. With that her child Alex would be older that 16. Spoiler info read about producers saying "it's all RELATIVE" makes me think that Alex is definitely alive and will appear in the last epi or next season. Maybe she's the she in "She took my Baby!" The preview is leading us to believe it's Danielle which we know the produces like to lead us down the wrong path in previews. There is survivors from the tail section??? Ana Lucia was seated in the tail. So was Rose's husband. Boone heard "we are the survivors of flight 815" The hatch....We know about the obvious one that Locke/Boone dup up. Do you remember the scene with Hurly and the big spike ball that he dives from? Prior to him diving in the bushes it shows him standing on what appears to be another hatch. The big spiky ball being a deterant from anyone who open's the hatch or anything that comes out of the hatch???? Also, when Ethan killed Scott someone said he must have come from the water. Another hatch??? I want to know why Sayid did not say anything to Shannon about the bag/airport episode. Clearly he looked at her and would remember her. Someone else also pointed out that Sayid being military would know better than to do that so what's in the bag? I'm rambling, I'll stop now.

Hello Lost! Welcome to the boards. Too bad you found us so late in the season!Great catch on Kate's mother being at Jack's wedding! I wonder if those that have been "scratched" have a special purpose or are actually infected. Or they could even have an immunity from the "sickness". Who knows? I just can't wait...2 more days!

LAST EDITED ON 05-23-05 AT 10:54 PM (EST)Maybe what you are implying is that the hatches are almost like doors to a habitrail under the island. The others use them to attack the castaways from different areas by suddenly appearing? If there is one in the sea is that what was used to drown Joanna(the scuba diver) and to attack and kill Steve? The spiked ball appeared near Danielle's hideaway right? Wasn;t her hideaway underground? ETA: This sounds like a video game now...is this similar to the game that was playing in Sayid's second episode? One more of J Slice's Awesome Creations!

I agree. Lot of parallels. I like this better than the comic book connection because of the aliens. I strongly believe there is no alien connection. The island is a result of scientists and their god complexes. (Jurassic Park-Ian-"no one stopped to ask should we") and of course the Government will be involved.
