Paula, took her back to the 50's, performance was flawless, is a thoroughbred. Simon, she is blossoming, very sexy performance, a great stripper song, absolutely loved it. 1-866-IDOLS-01.

1-866-IDOLS-04. Vote early, vote often.IMO, again, but this is Chris's competition to lose. Unless the producers want another Carrie Underwood clone to win. Actually, Chris would probably be better off not winning. Judges comments: Randy, how'd you feel, wow, doesn't know if it's the best vocals he's done but took a song everyone knows and put a different spin on it, knows who he is. Paula, waits every week to hear what he does, true to what he is, grows each week, should already be touring. Simon, agrees not the best vocal from him so far, but doesn't matter, first artist on the show who has refused to compromise, good job.

OK, I'm officially sick of Chris.I'll vote for him again when he sings a song that isn't his same old rock song. Yes, he does it well. Very well. And some artists can make a career on doing the same thing over and over. But he's boring to me at this point. It's funny, Simon has ripped artists in the past for staying in their comfort zone and only doing one song. But since Chris "refuses to compromise", it's great? Come on. It's fine to like him, I like him. I'm just bored and sick of him at this point. I've heard this before. I heard it in the last four weeks. My favorite Chris performance? When he had to sing "Emotion" during group performances. Bob Factoid: The fishercat is the only creature known to have gone completely insane chasing its own tail.

Love, Love, LOVE HIM! You know what, I could care less if it is or isn't an original or a remix of this song because guess what...I never heard it!!! I just wish people would lay off him sticking to his roots, to me that's the smartest thing to do because it's your best vocals. Why go out of the box and do a song and sook at it? He won't be recording those kind of songs, he'll be recording exactly the kind of song he's been doing.

Does Katherine have the emotion to pull off this song? Smoky voice starts off fine. Little breathy. (This is one of my favorite songs to sing in the shower.)Darn, she belts the socks off, but is it too Broadway? Judges' comments: Randy, not his favorite vocal performance, but strong and took a difficult song and worked it out. Paula, tough to do an Ella Fitzgerald song ut will be one of the contenders throughout the competition. Simon, something happened tonight, he thinks she turned in to a star, because that was like watching a seasoned great performance, falls under the special category, loved it. 1-866-IDOLS-05.

Paula, everyone danccing tonight, fantastic, confident, broke the mold after you. Simon, sorry, but, if this was the first time you saw the performance, was a complete mess, likes Taylor but like a hideous party performance. Paula, got back to youthfulness tonight, she's a powerhouse, favorite week for her. Simon, thought it was okay, feels like trapped in high school musical often tonight, end better than beginning.

OK, can one person be more boring than her?I'm already biased negatively towards her since I've thought she was overrated for a while, so this is jaded. However, every week, it's a solid vocal that turns in to nothing. She's a less talented, less enthusiastic, less fun version of Mandisa. If you want a statement that can't be quantified, she just doesn't have soul. Mandisa can bring the house down, Paris can get everyone on her feet, Katharine can connect with most red-blooded, alive, straight males and she's a strong singer, Lisa doesn't have a cliche. She's either the type that goes too early, or goes WAY too late because people don't want to vote her off since they think they'll miss something. She reminds me a lot of a more polished Camille. After videotape review, you are right on the money! Kevin was actually listen-able for me. Wouldn't even consider buying one of his CDs, but I did not reach for the Mute button either...I consider performers like Kevin, Elliot and Lisa "cannon fodder". Good enough to make to the dance, but there to truly accentuate the people who are the cream of the crop. Its a great opportunity for them - and they should make the most of it - but I cannot see them making it into the top 6. Holy make-up, Pukeler. She is sucking big time. Robotic movements, twang, everything that could suck -- sucks.

Funny you should say she 'sucks' when the thing most memorable about her performance tonight was her obsession with the pickle sign. It made her look dumb as a sweet potato. Maybe her sweet southern yam shtick is not an act. She may be a bit retarded. On the other hand, her singing was okay and she looked nice enough. I just don't get the way Simon reacts to her. He seems normally to be a person of some discernment. I have a feeling that if she was sitting next to him he would recognize the elements in her personality that seem to grate on him when Paula displays them.

Yet another country song. Channeling Patsy Cline tonight. Some clunkers toward the end.Judges' comments: Randy, great song choice, good performance. Paula, tigress tonight, awesome, authentic performance. Simon, got it right, ballsy, sexy, was just great, welcome back.

AI is a sneaky little bastidge putting Ace singing last hoping to save him, blah. I like the show to go out with a bang and Ace just can't provide that.

Did Chris actually say that it was 'his' arrangement? I might have missed it due to nasty hyperactive 4 year old climbing on my head. But, do we really care? He was amazing...I think if the song was originally done in the '50's what difference does all the other stuff make? Am i right or am i right or am i right? or not........

108. "RE: Chris' arrangement scandal" |
And that's part of The Big Debate. He did great, so why knock it? I went to the official AI boards last night to get a handle on the arguments, and I ended up huddled in a corner of my livingroom, shuddering and shivering and chattering my teeth. Never.Go.Again.Frisky.So, they were saying, in their eloquent way, that Chris was praised by the judges for his originality. BUT, the Other Side is saying that Simon simply said he refused to compromise. Credit was not taken, or given. I think the big deal is that Barry Manilow said "I've never heard it done that way before" in such a way that folks thought he was in awe of Chris, whereas Chris could have possibly told Barry and the band that this was Live's version, and Barry was more in awe of that version, no matter who arranged it. The band would have had to learn Live's arrangement of the song, so it's likely that Chris was honest with everyone on the set as to the origins of the arrangement, but those discussions didn't get aired, unfortunately. VoteForTheWorst, who I've enjoyed up until last night, was especially harsh abot it, but I still LOL at the comments over there. The AI boards, though...*shudder*

Have you heard the 'Live' version? Is it as good as Chris? I thought that song was haunting. I loved it. I was in awe of his delivery, he has a beautiful voice. I remember last year i didn't really like Bo until he did that a cappella thing. I was even more impressed last night.

Ok, gotta throw in my 2 cents Chris, Mandisa *fanning self* HOT HOT HOT Bucky, I love you anyway and voted a ridiculous amount of times. Lisa- way too nervous and not that impressive. I think she is in danger of another bottom three. Kellie- an okay hooker version of a great Pasty song. Paris- pretty decent. Taylor- slight disappointment but I still love him. Ace- improvement for sure. Katharine- great Elliot- such an incredible vocalist but for me he is quite dull. I want him to do well and make it far, though. Kevin- should be sending a thank you letter to Vote For The Worst.
