You know, I have noticed the price increase as well! I was at a local SuperTarget today and they had bell peppers for $3.99 a pound! I won't pay that for a bell pepper!

(sigh) Tell me about it. I was actually thinking about starting a thread to compare produce prices around the country in the dim hopes that it was just this area going through the gouge, but that'll have to wait for either tomorrow or the $5.00 per lb mark, whichever comes first. Right now, the Mid-Atlantic is on track to have truffles as your low-cost veggie option by next Friday.

Hi, I'm from Vancouver Island and new to the board. We actually had some flurries this morning.
I don't like cooking. So it's fruit and juice for breakfast and, for supper, any leftovers that I can find laying dormant in the fridge.
Unless, of course, the wife has prepared a sumptuous meal. (Hunger pangs beckon. Runs to fridge looking for food).

Thanks for the welcome.
The flurries didn't last long. Though, we moved out here just this past August because it's supposed to be milder weather. Originally, we were in southern Ontario where the temperature can dip to 20 degrees below.
I guess some of that nastiness followed along with me. They say it's being colder than usual. But a lot of good THAT does me.

I'm feeling better now that I had something to eat. The wife had gone shopping and brought home some cooked chicken legs. So I grabbed some of those before they had a chance to disappear.
The snow didn't last long and so didn't have a chance to accumulate. But having moved to the small town of Ladysmith, it becomes worrisome, since there are very steep hills here.

I really didn't think I was doing anything wrong. And I meant what I said in that I was simply looking for feedback and discussion on my work.
It's the first time I've tried doing something of this sort, and I did not mean to offend anyone.

You've made me feel at home.
Though I'm totally straying from the topic, I suppose a bit about myself would help. (I think I should also update my profile).
At age 57, I feel I'm getting on in years, and pretty much set in my ways. So trying something new is not always easy for me.
I debated long and hard whether I should take the plunge into forums. I saw the OT one pop up on my wife's screen the other day. So I thought I'd give it a try.
I enjoy writing and have a book coming out for release. It's a thrilling experience for me and an achievement I'm proud of. I only hope readers will enjoy what I have to offer.
