Jags -I agree with you 100%. Although always important, i think this season with teh crop of contestants we have, song selection is going to be much more important. The girls - as a whole - are somewhat on the same level when you get down to the final 6. Now i'm making a prediction here, but the crop of 6 guys we will get is going to be probably the most diverse group of six we've seen so far on AI. For that totally different reason, i think song selection plays a crucial role for them also. It should be a very fun season. 6 somewhat similar girls up against 6 very different guys, sylistically. geekboy

Yes That was the point I was trying to make even more so after I saw the guys performance last night. Look at Will you can tell he is talented but no one I repeat no one should to a MJ song ever because you will not pull it off. That said until tues, night I would of said the same thing about a Barbara song but Katharine nailed it. I think she stands above the rest. Also Taylor has such a different sound that he stands alone. After the first week they are the 2 that impressed me the most.

I'm excited to see what the guys do in the next couple of weeks. I was a little underwhelmed with the ladies on Tuesday night, they all seemed to sing the same style of song (with a few exceptions -- Paris for example). But the guys are all over the map stylistically. I can't wait to see Chris, Taylor, Elliott, Ace and Will sing other genres. Those 5 are about a different as you can get. Definitely an interesting group of guys this year.
