SurvivorBlows.com provides this thread as a service to two groups of people: 1) People who want to post and read about the episode as it is being telecast across the various time zones. Linda is really creepy with a smiley voice waking up the kids letting them know that they have 30 minutes to get ready. Getting ready to go to challenge... Silas takes a knee and calls the team together to drop the animosities and come together. Linda says 'thank you!' for being 'let back on the team'. Linda runs around giving hugs and making people get uncomfortable. Lindsey lets her emotions get the better of her and cries and refuses to hug Linda. Challenge... teams have to run across cargo net to a web of ropes... have to get baskets of food treats and retrieve them. Once through teams neck and neck. Mama Kim is patently useless... 'baby step running'. Two Samburus go to the net and back while Grand Mama Kim takes her walker out. Samburu wins... Mama Kim sucks!   Top

Tribes are neck and neck unil MamaKim struggles badly on her run with only 2 baskets left. Samburu ends up basically lapping her and wins by a full relay run (Boran still has 1 basket left when Samburu finishes)   Top

"Samburu out of water" LAST EDITED ON 11-01-01 AT 08:27 PM (EST) Samburu is out of water, and brings back a full load, only to see their 2 remaining good boiling pots crack. They now have no pots with which to boil water (maybe this will cause MB to move them to Boran's camp next week -- and therefore b our "twist"?)   Top

Samburu elders let the youngin's handle the water getting chores... Kim P. says the older ones let the water level dropped on purpose (like the young ones couldn't get up a little earlier and take some responsibility). Water levels drop to nothing and then they break two of their boiling pots. Clean water processing is severely hampered. The food challenge was mostly spices and condiments. They are badly dehydrated and have virtually no drinking water. Boran runs into a water buffalo on the way to water hole... no biggie.   Top

Wakes the kids up before sunrise... to go get water before it gets hot... they grouse but get moving... sometimes dad is right kids! Boran Ethan and Kim J go for tree mail... competition about 'Nomads' Two whole mini camps with fences, huts, camp supplies, flag pole. Camp must be moved and reconstructed 'exactly', two people are architects... not to move stuff... Teresa is sat out... Linda and Brandon are architects for Samburu Boran send Kelly and Kim J as architects... Boran guys go for the heavy hut first... are well organized and using fence pieces as pallets to carry things... Boran have roof and flag to go... Samburu have walls of hut.... Boran finishes wayyyy ahead! Boran wins IC!   Top

Challenge is to recreate a little house, fence, etc. in a new location 200 yards away. Four members move the stuff, two guide them. Samburu sits Teresa. Boran has MamaKim and Kelly as their "architects" Boran is smart, starts with he heaviest thing, the house itself. Samburu starts with the fence, then the roof, and lastly the house. Boran move the house base, then fence, and lastly the roof and flag.   Top

The oldsters ask who is going - the kids won't tell them and then SIlas says to the oldsters that they should all vote for Lindsey so that she is the only one has votes. Actually, I wanted to backpedal for some reason in the first couple minutes of the show, and for sure as soon as I saw they all had to run ACROSS a net before climbing--and it was obviously all over when Mama Kim was SOOOOOO very lame in her effort. . . This is how a tennis champion RUNS?! (Yeah--right toward the buffet at the Early Bird Special. . .) Well, I may have missed the RC winner, but I had Linda pegged all the way! As for the preview for next week's show--it may not be a 3-tribe split, but seems pretty obvious that they're shaking up the tribes in a BIG way! Please, somebody--tell me those snotty Beadie Babies get their comeuppance PRONTO! I want to see someone slap that grin off Silas' face, ditto for Brandi the Drama Queen, and if I have to hear Lindsey's whiny, grating voice much longer, I will spit (and much more convincingly than she did tonight.) "Question about the IC" Something's been nagging at me since the IC: They were told that the two "architects" would not help move things, and no one could start reconstructing until the items (I assumed that meant ALL) were within the new circle. From this, I assumed (apparently incorrectly) that the architiects wouldn't be allowed to do ANYTHING but direct the action--but even more curious to me is that I swear the Samburu architects began reassembling the pig sty as soon as the parts appeared--and the Borans began with theirs while their team was back getting the roof. Is this just one of those technicalities they decided to gloss over because it went along with how they wanted it to turn out? or did they figure since they both "cheated" it was even? or that the Samburus cheated first, but STILL lost, so it didn't matter? or am I reading more into the rules than was intended? Of course, since so much is left out, we can't know if they asked questions first to clear up the specifics, or after, to explain if/what they did wrong. Probably more nit-picky than anyone else cares about, but after the subjective calls in S2, I figured they'd be more careful to avoid anything questionable. I'm not intimating that Boran shouldn't have won--I think it was evident they did by a big margin--but I guess I have a touch of the anal this week, and would like things to be more cut and dried. . .
