Indeed you are correct about your post having drawn me out of lurking, I have been reading some of these forums off and on for around a year now (though really more off than on) as I watch mostly the Amazing Race and the Apprentice (I used to watch Survivor for the first few seasons but I weaned myself from it as it was altogether too much TV for my liking). Oh and also American Idol, but I'm not sure I consider that so much Reality TV as a nice variety show.Partly though it was also Wickedly Perfect itself that drew me here - I went to the CBS site looking for a way to comment on the problems I was seeing, and finding nothing turned to google - which led to this board.
Currently despite the flaw I find that Wickedly Perfect is actually my favorite reality TV show, at least the one I look forward to the most and spend the must time mulling over what occurs after the show ends each week.
I agree with you that the individual projects should be more narrowly defined than they are - like you said, they should have made the first weeks challenge be food-only! Though I thought they had done that this past week when watching the show, I could have sworn they said "make an object from natural items only, incorporating this map". To me, the only project that came close to adhering to the requirements I heard was actually Darlene's basket as it was the item that used the least amount of bought goods in the final product (even that had some kind of plastic or glass beads woven through it). Things like the survival kit, or even the bridge (built with processed lumber instead of logs whittled by hand) should have just been discarded as missing the point.
On a side note even though I find Darlene's personality grating so far, I have to say that I find her ideas generally very good and her team would be well served to listen to her more.
Shows like these and the tendency to make the unveiling of the winner live TV, make me wonder if the contracts people sign going in state there may be no winner if the show is canceled before the final show. A shame to spend all this effort working on the show if it may just be canceled before the end. I'll keep watching though...
