PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the
complete guidelines.
As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

That's a really nice hold for the show, especially considering that it was up against the All star game. If it maintains around the same numbers for the reast of the season, CBS should be thrilled.

That's good news. Nice numbers. Hopefully with these good ratings, CBS will continue the Amazing Race with #7 to air in the spring. And here's hoping that TAR#6 doesn't air on Saturday nights. It would be the death of the show(I'll have to get TiVo).

#13 in Households 6.4/11 and 6,955,000Looks like #11 in viewers with 10,392,000 http://tv.zap2it.com/tveditorial/tve_main/1,1002,272|weekly||,00.html This coming week has to be really tough. It's opposite the Women's Team Gymnastics final and a bunch of swimming finals. NBC may take the top 7 spots with their Olympics coverage. Even Saturday's coverage had almost 20 million viewers. The good news is no Law and Order and no Hall of Fame Football.

Great demo results this week also.Ranks #9 3.9% 5.083 million people Only the Olympics and CSI ranked higher. http://www.medialifemagazine.com/news2004/Aug04/Aug23/3_wed/news2wednesday.html By the way, TAR is shown at a many way tie for 11th for total viewers with all the other programs that got 3.2%.

Why oh why is it broadcast so late? 10 pm? Too late for kids, too late for many working folk. I don't have Tivo, and am not going to buy it, but I just can't stand this 10 pm start.

19. "Week 8 Results for Tuesday and Preliminary Week 9" |
http://www.medialifemagazine.com/news2004/Aug04/Aug30/3_wed/news2wednesday.htmlWeek 8 (8/24) The 7 nights of the Olympics were the first 7 places. The Tuesday night Olympics won the silver rating with Monday getting the gold. For Households, the results were #11 6.6/11 with 7.124 million households (tied with Everybody Loves Raymond which had slightly more household love). For Viewers, #9 3.8% and 10.492 million (tied with Without a Trace; TAR had a trace more viewers). For the demo A18-49, an amazing #8 with 5.794 viewers. In other words, #1 non-Olympics program. The bad news is the summer viewership is so low that TAR ranks only #51 for the Season to date in households. http://tv.yahoo.com/news/ap/20040831/109399386001.html Week 8 (8/31)
This is a little discouraging as the results appear to be down. Perhaps the time slot change hurt. Preliminary fast nationals from zap2it, #2 in timeslot with 6.0/9. This doesn't look promising. Note: I waited to post the results for last week until I had complete info rather than giving the info as I got it.

Sorry these are so late. A holiday and a hurricaine delayed the results.8/31 Households #11 6.3/10 6,933,000 Persons 2+ #8 3.6 Rating (tied with Raymond which had slightly more love) 9,980,000 A18-49 #3 4.3 Rating 5,592,000 The demo rating is fantastic. It was beat only by Father of the Pride and Fear Factor. No CBS programs ranked as high. http://www.medialifemagazine.com/news2004/sep04/sep07/5_fri/news4friday.html Preliminary 9/7 The results aren't consistent, #1 or #2 in the timeslot for households, #1 for viewers and A18-49. From Zap2It based on Preliminary Fast Nationals, CBS closed the night with the 7.0/12 for "Amazing Race 5," which was the night's most watched program. From Reuters, preliminary results (I'm not sure of the source) 10.7 million viewers and 4.9/13 in the demo. http://tv.yahoo.com/news/va/20040908/109467691300.html From Mediaweek, CBS' The Amazing Race 5 (#2: 7.5/12; A18-49: #1, 4.9/13) was a solid No. 1 among adults 18-49. ( this is the preliminary metered market, and the household numbers always seem a little high to me.) http://tv.yahoo.com/news/mw/20040908/109469263900.html These are excellent results for TAR. A number of reality programs are faltering and it looks some of the new programming isn't sizzling. Queer Eye is catching fewer eyes.

LAST EDITED ON 09-16-04 AT 03:38 AM (EST)9/7 Tuesday Households #15 6.9/11.0 7,582,000 Tied with 60 Minutes, CBS Sunday Movie, Dateline Friday, Everybody Loves Raymond, and Law and Order:SVU. Everybody but Raymond actually beat it out for number of viewers so technically, TAR might have been 19th. Viewers #10 3.9 10,846,000 Tied with Without a Trace and Medical Investigation. Technically, it beat them both out. A18-49 #6 5.1 6,624,000 It was the #1 CBS show in the demo. http://www.medialifemagazine.com/news2004/sep04/sep14/3_wed/news2wednesday.html Adding #3 among women ages 18-34 with 1.6 million. My info showed only the top 5, and men watched football for the first 3 slots.
Adding Season to Date 9/22/03-9/05/04, #42 among viewers 10,260,000 3.7 8. 9/14 from Zap2it Preliminary Fast Nationals
#2 in timeslot behind L&O:SVU 7.0/12 It was CBS' top show of the night.
