PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the
complete guidelines.
As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

"AI On Fox Message Board Thoughts" |
I, like Breezy and Joshidol, went to the official Fox AI message boards to try to get info on the theme. While there, I noted that they have separate forums for each contestant. I reviewed the content and tone of these forums, and here are my conclusions. I think we can draw some things from this:1. Constantine is the frontrunner. 2. Vonzell is in danger. 3. The bottom three is likely to be Scott, Anthony, and Vonzell. Active Contestants Constantine – 354,084 messages – thread topics 99.9% positive towards Constantine, .1% negative towards Constantine (one thread called “Constantine is aggrivating”). Most threads are what you would expect based on the audience he gets at the shows. Bo – 147,140 messages – thread topics 75% positive towards Bo, 25% negative towards Bo Carrie – 64,533 messages – thread topics 100% positive towards Carrie. Anthony – 56,300 messages – thread topics 100% positive towards Anthony, but several along the lines of “We Need To Keep Him Safe” and “I Am Already Nervous” and “What’s Your Favorite Anthony Body Part”. That last one still creeps me out. Scott – 60,839 messages – thread topics 75% positive towards Scott, 25% negative towards Scott (there’s a religious furor to the messages in favor of Scott – a lot of talk about Scott being God’s vessel and stuff like that – apparently God was running low on vessels that week) Vonzell – 30,562 messages – thread topics 100% positive towards Vonzell. She’s not appearing to inspire much passion, however. Booted Contestants
There seems to be a post-boot spike in new threads for people the farther into the show they go – this seems a logical thing to me. Mikalah – 177,493 messages – thread topics 60% positive towards Mikalah, 40% negative towards Mikalah. Still inspiring a lot of passion in people both ways. And no, that’s not code. Anwar – 137,300 messages – thread topics 100% positive towards Anwar, most lamenting his ouster. And no, that’s not code. Nikko – 134,176 messages – thread topics 90% positive, 10% negative. Again, a lot of threads about his recent appearances. Nadia – 78,553 messages – thread topics 100% positive towards Nadia, most talking about what she is doing and where she is appearing now. Lindsay – 17,392 messages – Thread Topics 100% positive towards Lindsay. Less passion, more “Lindsay is hot” threads. Jessica – 16,523 messages – Thread topics 100% positive towards Jessica. Fewer posts, but more passion than Lindsay’s threads.

I am really lost on why Scott would have such a religious backing. Really lost. Really, really, really, really lost.I am surprised, actually, that Constantine is talked about so much more than any of the other constestants. What can you really say after one of his performances: "Wow, did you see the way he looked at the camera?" or "Wow, he really made eyes at the camera last night, huh?" or "Wow, when he stares into the camera, it's so magical." /boggle. I am also surprised that Carrie is getting such a positive reception. I would have expected more "I'm bored with her," and "her stage presence is non-existent," and "her song choice is pretty lame," type themes. She must still be coasting on her "Alone" week.

There's a real "he's fallen but now been redeemed" vibe to a lot of the Scott threads. His support seems to be based far more on his story than on his ability. As for Constantine, the tone of his threads seem to indicate that they all think he is looking right at them personally. He's got the power-voting teeny-boppers down. They love the camera stares. Love them. I think Carrie is drawing a white-teenage-girl-who-fancies-herself-a-singer vote. She also has a lot of country fans. Vonzell has the black-teenage-girl-who-fancies-herself-a-singer vote. She also has a lot of R&B fans. Anthony has...you got me. It appears to be a college-aged crowd, but there also seems to be a lot of people projecting things onto Anthony (he's gay, he's really dark and moody, he's intelligent) that I think the posters themselves possess. Bo's support is from an older crowd. One of the reasons Bo had so many negative threads is because his fans are discussing Bo elsewhere. Several threads talk about how they (Bo fans) were leaving the AI forums and going to talk at Bo fan sites. Speaking of fan sites, I found three different and distinct Bo fan sites. There are four for Carrie, two for Constantine, one for Vonzell, and none for Scott or Anthony. These are actual urls registered, not a geocities page or some other such site.

I looked at some of the site. A lot of the Constantine messages were rabid fans just chatting with each other about how addicted they are. You know that type of message--I am so addicted I did not make dinner or clean the house, I can not wait for tonight, etc. Just lots of chatter. So I wonder how many are from unique posters versus some prolific rabid ones. Maybe it is the same for the other contestants' messages--I was trying to get a handle of why Constantine had so many messages. I also thought many of the messages were from married women who had a Constantine crush. Thanks for noting that there were alt Bo sites. I know I would not post on Fox but I would post "Go Bo!" here. I did not review Anwar's messages but since he was just booted this last week, I am guessing that he had to be over 100,000 messages prior to his boot--and that level of messages did not keep him safe. The Vonzel number is most concerning, especially because she could have picked up voters from Nadia. Will she get any of Anwar's voters or will they go towards one of the guys?

Next season, it would be interesting to track the Fox message board numbers each week, say starting from when the F12 are announced. It might show why some are not getting the boot that we expect.

Someone posted the AOL poll in the ranking thread this week. It would be interesting to trck that along with the Fox message board levels week to week. I recall the AOL poll from before we did our PTTE at F12--I'll see if I can find it for comparison with this week.
