gorgoniol 69 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Hollywood Squares Square" 03-19-04, 06:55 PM (EST) "LATOYA A SECRET?" Did AI intentionally downplay Latoya ( and Jasmine) during the elimination round telecasts so tv watchers would be surprised when they saw these talents during the finals? I don't think anybody was aware of Latoya until she appeared during the semi-final rounds. I guess, it's a business thing. Because if they showed Latoya early on, people would know who the winner would be and no one would watch the show anymore. Now, Latoya, it's time for you to move on past A13. Just negotiate for a singing contract.   Top

Why on earth was Latoya's and Jasmine's auditions not featured during the elimination round shows? Was it intentional on the part of the producers? I only saw the latter part of A11 and never got the chance to see A12.   Top

When she was sang All By Myself, she was very modest and sweet, and lovely. And she had almost vocal output before and after the performance. She just smiled sweetly. But in last episode, she was all proud and beaming. All I wanted to say was I liked her the first time she came on tv because she was confident but not irritatingly so.   Top

They are going back to American Idol I editing and wanting to surprise people with her. I think with Jasmine, her audition song, was "I Will Always Love You", which is one of the songs on the "do not show" list for Fox.   Top

I guess I am the only one who thought LaToya sucked major wind this week? I think she's one of the best this year but I just didn't get her song selection or performance. She couldn't keep up with the lyrics and that song only had something like a 4-note range - not particularly challenging IMHO. Plus, she was constantly being drowned out by the backing vocals. And yet, the judges praised her like she's the second coming - I don't get it. Singing double-time is taking a risk? That's what crappy drunken singers do in karaoke bars. I guess when the judges have their favorites they stick with them, good or bad. I hope this version of LaToya stays in Country Theme Week where it belongs. She's capable of so much better!   Top

I only caught a few of the performances last night but I did hear LaToyas and agree with those that dont think she's the second coming. I think she's very good and has a great voice but she is not perfect and she was drowned out a lot by the background last night.
