I thought he looked pretty pissed until the vocal coach made the "wrong color" comment. He really looked peeved by the whole thing and then seemed to just laugh to be polite. Poor Barry.

I agree he did have the actually-peeved look about him for awhile, but I'll also come to his defense:You know that "Can't Smile Without You" thing that he does, with bringing a woman from the audience? Well, my sister-in-law was "that woman" some years ago at his show in Las Vegas. I wasn't there, but she got a video of the whole thing. (She did great, btw!) I remember being surprised at his demeanor while he was asking for his volunteer, not that it was bad, just that his style and humor was drier than I would have expected. Just his manner of calling out for someone and picking. So when I saw the blooper clip on AI, I was reminded of that - is was the same sort of look and feel. So, yes - I am defending Barry Manilow! LOL It seemed like he just really played it straight and with a dry type of humor. And I do get the feeling from him that he knows how to laugh at himself. dangerkitty (Still can't believe I'm sticking up for Barry Manilow... )

I thought it was pretty darn funny. And I think he said it was "f**king depressing" because he was acknowledging she was a young girl and he's an older star and she obviously didn't know who he was.......i.e., that's when you know you're past your prime. LOLBTW, I would have been totally embarrased if I was that girl --- even if she was no Barry Manilow fan, how could you be in the room, working on the show, and NOT know who the guest star is for the week????? lol

That was hysterical and the fact that when the girl walked over to the black guy she said she had the wrong colored powder too.
Barry said it was f--------ing depressing. I think he meant cause she was younger and he has now reached a point in his life where people like her do not know who he is. I think it was a matter of him getting older.
