Well it seems agreed that Kristin's "facts" are generally suspect, so I'd probably ignore it -- coming from this source anyway. But why would Amber making final 4 be surprising based on her performance in S2? She would have made final 4 if Tina hadn't decided that Rodger and Elisabeth were more "deserving" to stay around. Amber's plan in S2 was to ride her original alliance to the end and take her chances. A simplistic plan, yes, because she didn't think she had any reason to jump ship until it was too late. I think this time she'll maintain a generally UTR approach again, but she'll be more skilled at weighing decisions along the way, as opposed to just letting others run the show.
