This show makes me feel so on the fence. On one hand I do think there are those involved who actually care about these individuals and the other part of me feels that they are being exploited for entertainment purposes. However, I tuned in tonight. When the topic of being critical and gossipy was brought up I kind of thought how "interesting". It's "interesting" because it seems to me (at least) that the "caretakers/overseers" border on being gossipy. In my opinion, it is neither professional nor beneficial to the "patients" when the ones in charge divulge information about one "patient" to another or express their opinions on one "patient" to another. I feel that if a "patient" wants to discuss a matter about their peer to the one in charge then that's fine, but the one in charge should simply listen or give sound and professional advice that says "I'm not your friend sitting around and gossiping but rather your mentor who is trying to help". However, this is just my opinion.
I also thought it ridiculous that all but one went clubbing. I understand the concept of these individuals having personal freedom and learning how to use it properly but right now I don't think they are capable of doing just that. I think these freedoms should have to be earned and not given.
The bbq was also another bad idea. It was too many people and too uncontrolled. Clearly, some questionable characters showed up and clearly that was what was going to occur.
