Spoiler alert!! Where's vince? Filler, filler, filler, filler, filler, filler, I couldn't wait to get this discussion statrted. Tonight we find out who America chose to compete to go back into the house. According to the live feeds there were 2 million votes cast and one hamster got 1 million of those votes. that hamster is Brendon. He beats Lawon and reenters the house. Needless to say Rachel, Jordon, Jeff, and Shelly are thrilled and Kalia, Porche and Dani are furious. They haven't had the HOH contest yet.

I'm not sad to see Lawon go...but I am nauseated at the idea of having to watch the gruesome twosome one second longer...
Why are these people so stupid? It would have been fun to watch the two play against eachother....ah well. I guess the only logical thing to do is to now go full on for Shelly....or at least hope that Brendon breaks his pen!s while celebrating his return....

I was surprised neither of them thought of gathering 6 + balls at a time and then standing there rolling them, one after another until they were either in the hole or rolled out, then gather another 6+, etc. A lot of time was lost running out for every ball or two and running back to roll it.

Their site has show discussion, no unified effort or single directive from the management, and a few people voting all over the place. They didn't latch onto this latest fiasco. (It's visible just in the vote total -- Worsters on a drive would have pushed things well over two million.) At the moment, they're laughing over Lawon's eviction and proposing that given her current ability to make great decisions, Danielle's next move is probably nominating Kalia.

Bren: Welcome to my world, guys." Right now, they're all talking and waiting for HoH to start. (It's like the week-in-an-hour: the chances of everything getting done before airtime ends are always nil.) Danielle is several thousand levels of pissed -- in particular, she wants to know how America could vote Brendon over Dominic. So do I, but that's mostly because I was expecting Cassi to go back in. And I'm pretty sure VFTW didn't get involved or we would have had Keith... (BTW, note the vote totals here: two million overall, Brendon with just about half of that, and Julie claims it was close. Take her at the spoken word (hah!) and that means Cassi plus Keith made up very little of the ballots. Give her the quoted total and we can take one thing away from this: the public interest is way down from where it was when Kaysar got voted back in. That total was closer to five million. Sixty percent of the ballots went bye-bye -- go ahead and explain that one away, Grodner.) Kalia is considering quitting. Of course she is. She admitted to having a Chima moment, by name. For now, she's willing to be generous with her time and wait on Danielle's struggle in the upcoming HoH competition, but she's exactly as happy as you'd expect about this situation. Danielle, upon whom so few hopes rest, is fuming about how unfair it is that Brendon got to see their extremely nasty goodbye messages. (There's another Danielle who would probably agree with that.)
Brendon is being updated on cage events, at least as Rachel, Jordan, and Jeffoon saw them. He can't believe the newbies evicted Lawon. At this point, I'm pretty sure they can't either. And Brendon is going to do his best to win HoH, Veto, and possibly take on the grill. No word on his prospective nominations yet, but gosh, he's confident. Has he met the grill? Long night ahead -- and depending on who wins the next battle, it could get a lot longer.

The issue with boomerang control, as always, remains the HoH format... Eventually, someone in the newbie group has to win and take a stand -- or Danielle has to begin every-other-weeking from now until twists do her part.The boomerangs have improved their odds with Brendon's return: no argument there. But they don't have a lock yet. Yup, the HoH is the only thing that will save Dani and the newbies. And, lo and behold (looking below), Dani got it! ED must be thinking "Ok, Dani, you royally screwed it up once, don't screw it up again!"

I didn't start watching BB before season 5 so I didn't want to go by reputation! And that was the first real season of Big Brother anyway so it was easier to be a snake and bad guy. I hesitated to put Hatch in that category for the same reason. I still see Hatch acting as if he had integrity and playing the honesty card.

The fact that this "vote" was so low in response is proof, those who care, just aren't voting.
Now, Brenden is under the belief that we like him. "Yes, I want to puke also. Why could it not be Dominic? Actually I would have been fine with anyone but Brendon. The three booted newbies were all players. I also want to puke at Jeff comments about the floaters because it is Jeff who has nominated Keith, Cassi and Dominic and voted to keep in Porsche, Shelly and Adam. So Jeff, because the non-floater this time is you it is all of a sudden wrong to not vote out a floater??????? I almost think the vote was rigged as the producers I am sure wanted brendon back in. Other than Outbackgirl, I have not met one person that likes Brendon.

So I'm curious, any of you who are unhappy with the outcome...did you vote? 2mm votes...so let's say everyone who voted at CBS, who took the time to register, give CBS an email, and then confirm their registration, went ahead and voted 10x after all those steps, the most you could vote at that site. With one computer/email address. So 2mm/10 votes per person = 200,000 people bothered to vote. But wait! Some fans voted from more than one computer. Some people spent money to vote via text. So, less than 200,000 people voted on this. I'm guessing that CBS makes enough from these pay to vote things to pay for some of the prizes in the comps. ;) And, BTW, re: Kaysar's votes....Kaysar was single. Brendan is engaged and proclaiming his love to his fiance. More voters for the single attractive guy, hands down. OK, the single, non juvenile attractive guy (thus eliminating Dom and Keith). ANd did CBS limit the votes to ten on the website back then when Kaysar was in the running?

And if she plays it just right with the nominees, she might be able to get something going. Since there's still 9 houseguests left, we're looking at 6 votes for eviction (with Dani as tie-breaker). What she needs to do is figure out some nomination that will definitely split the vote, so she can leverage her, Kalia, and Porsche's votes into something worthwhile. The problem with last week's noms were that Rachel already seemed to have the votes (thanks to Adam and Shelly), so Kalia/Porsche/Dani had little leverage to make a deal. She should consider putting up Shelly/Brendon and make Jeff/Jordan choose a side... If Jeff/Jordan chooses Shelly, it might create some bad blood with Rachel. The only problem with that might be that Jeff/Jordan might choose Brendon, and then Shelly leaving doesn't give them anything. Of course, it would also depend on where Adam would vote in such a situation (he's the real wildcard). In they could get Adam to vote out Brendon, then they might win over Shelly to their side. (Or maybe Shelly should be a replacement nom instead?)
(Or maybe Shelly/Rachel would make it easier to push Adam into keeping Shelly?) She could also maybe just do Brendon/Jeff (or some combo of 1-per-pair) and mess with them that way. I kind of like the Shelly idea more just because a Brendon/Jeff play might just bring them closer together again. Either way, I think Brendon needs to be the target again for Dani this week.

That's the route I'd go and the only route ED thinks Dani should go from what he says in his twitters. She has to break up one of the two power couples while the opportunity presents itself. Good point about whether to go with two of a pair or one from each pair to begin with and to end with. Of the four, I'd try to leave alone the one who'd most likely go adrift alliance-wise if they lost their partner, and that seems to be Jordan. And I'd try to initially put on the one to be targeted, and that would be Brendon. Thus, I'd put up Brendon+Jeff and replace with Rachel or put up Brendon+Rachel and replace with Jeff. (eta) If you want to play the Veto Gambit, then put up Rachel+Jeff and replace with Brendon as the intended target.

Last night before the HOH comp JeJo said something about throwing the HOH comp. That ticks me off! Play, darn it!I think Shelly may have thrown it, too because she said today something about forgetting to multiply something by 2. A pile of baseballs in a chair? Or two chairs? Anyway, she's too sharp of a business woman to make that mistake for realz. Perhaps I'll know when they show the comp on tv tomorrow night. Adam has not been trying to win. Kalia couldn't play.
So that leaves Brenchel, Dani and Porsche. Dani won and Porsche came in second. Are Brenchel that bad at estimating numbers of items? And wtg, vets side, for taking a 6 on one side to 2 on the other side comp and turning it into a 2 versus 2! If JeJo, Adam or Shelly go this week it's their own fault.

I watched some of Showtime last night, and both couples seemed to be lamenting the loss and beating themselves up about particular mistakes. Brendon said something about a comp (in another season?) where if you went over you were eliminated, and said he focused too much on not going over.Not having seen the comp or heard the rules, it was hard to follow, but I didn't hear anything from JeJo when they were alone on throwing the comp. It's not like Jordan is good at numbers. Brendon was probably their best hope, or Rachel. btw, I didn't say I LIKE Brendon. I think he adds competitiveness to the cage, and I respect the way he puts all he can into challenges. And at least when he talks, he talks so I can hear him. I was trying to listen to Dani and Porche last night and their whispering was so annoying. You can make a case for any of these guys being flawed, obnoxious, stupid about the game, emotional, egotistical, whatever, something annoying. There is no reason why we should all be rooting for the same people or all hating the same people -- as it is not BB6.

zazzy, I think you have it figured pretty good. I don't think this is a backdoor move of any type. I think Shelly is definitely the target with Adam as the pawn, and I think Daniele avoided putting up anybody from the power couples by design, in order not to have somebody up who might actually get the boot. Daniele has finally realized what Shelly is up to and wants to get her out because she's the least predictable and trustworthy player in the house and she wants to get her out while she has a shot at getting the votes to do it because she doesn't want Shelly's unpredictability and big mouth to bite her in the @$$ next week when she can't play for HoH.

It's because Rachel is an ingrate. Shelly, Jeff, Jordan worked last week to keep Rachel in the game.What does she do? She and Bren make a deal with Dani pre noms this week that Dani will target Jeff/bd Jeff. So right away, they've thrown JeJo under the bus. All Rach is doing now is backwards justifying her/their decision. This is right up there with the comments that people only play for themselves. OBVI! What do you expect in this game? Rach is on my last nerve. I don't know if Dani will pick Jeff or Bren. They had a one week deal, and Dani won a pass to play in next week's veto. So, she does not need the deal as badly now. She has told Jeff to his face that he is not her target, but this is Dani we're talking about.

Kalia won a vacation. She's happy. With the POV, Adam says he will use it on himself (he's no Marcellas). So, now we wait for Dani to make up her mind as to which pair she will screw over. Jordon is wearing a fairy costume, with a dunce cap and a "I'm with Stupid" sign. At least she's having fun with it. 
And, to top it off, a legal "SWOOP". My second ever! On a personal note, I never had the chance to interact with vince3, but I did enjoy his posts and sense of humor. It's a sad day. He will be missed.

Plus they now know he can win a POV when his back is against the wall, so he's no longer a non-threat due to complete challenge ineptitude. If Brendon goes, Jeff is the next target if any of the girls win HOH. Rachel has been flubbing the competitions, while Jeff is a big threat. I'm sure Jeff realizes that Brendon is his shield. The vets need to get Dani out, and then they can turn on each other, but as long as Dani is there unifying Kalia and Porsche, they need each other. It is not in either Jeff or Adam's interest to be the last two guys in a house with six women. Shelley is not worth keeping; her cover is blown, and she is a legitimate threat to get jury votes if she stays. Dani is not playing a good game. She doesn't stick with her plans. She could have let Brendon and Rachel think she had lived up to her deal and been safe next week if they won HOH, but no, she made Shelly her enemy and she will have to deal with the wrath of Rachel or Brenchel, one of the two. While this is a true back door of Brendon, as he didn't get to play the POV, and that must have made Dani feel like it was a chance she couldn't pass up -- whenever you back door someone, that puts more of a target on you, just as someone who is willing to play that way. Although Rachel goes full tilt revenge no matter what, and Dani is already a huge target. It will be interesting to see whether the others like the idea of getting Brendon out via the back door with no blood on their hands, or whether Jeff and Adam think ahead and realize they are toast if they let D-K-P and Janus-Shelly take over.

Not as good but he could always have a shot at winning a vote against her. "Dani is not playing a good game" True but now that Shelley has lost her cool, everyone else is playing even worse. Everyone except maybe Jordan who no one worries about. That's why she's the only winner in the bunch.

According to the spoiler sites, it's looking like JJBR holding up their boomerang alliance, so Shelly's going to get 3 eviction votes from them. Kalia and Porsche are going against Brendon, following Dani's lead, so that's 3-2. The wild card here is Adam. If he votes Shelly, she's history. If he votes Brendon, then Dani will cast the tie-breaker to see Brendon out the door. Late last night, Jeff tries to convince Adam to vote against Shelly instead of Brendon. Adam doesn't seem to be committed either way, but he also isn't using his pivotal voting position to his advantage to strike any deals.

I agree, JeJo should vote out Shelly. Her cover is blown and having two people on their side is better than one. Alos, the shield factor. Get rid of the newbies. If they do that it comes down to the two couples....Dani is eventually gone...it is a matter of time. The two couples are the best at challenges other than Dani.
I still really don't ever see Brenchal trusting Dani, afterall she was the reason Brendan went the first time and once again Dani puts him up. BRenchal is now forced to go back and aligned with JeJo. The key now becomes Adam who would give one couple the advantage over the other.

I'm getting a bad feeling for Shelly. Like DR involvement, perhaps? She has not been getting a good edit from the show, and this week she could be expendable if the show thinks having Brenchel together in the game equals ratings. Sigh. Dani has been very clear about wanting Brendan out. Adam told Dani that Brendan wins eighty percent of the comps he's in. Dani told Shelly the target is Brendan. And she told Kalia. The way the DR could have spun it to Dani is that Dani makes separate deals with both Brenchel and JeJo, with each thinking they have the only deal with Dani, and Brendan stays. Shelly's gone, and who in the game is targeting Dani? No one who made a deal. And Kalia/Porsche are on Dani's side. That leaves Adam. Dani is foxy enough to cut a deal with Adam when she needs it. This is the time I start to lose interest in the show because the invisible hand starts to be visible. If the 5 vets reband together as one unit with adjuncts Kalia and Porsche, Adam is toast unless he wins HOH. Then the following week Dani wins HOH and repeats her trick of throwing one of the vets under the bus, quickly in a fast forward ep, and the show rolls on from there. Arrrgggh. I wanted to see if Shelly would actually try to win a comp. Now the phone call to home may be the acme of her story arc.

Tonight's show wasn't real kind to Shelly. It painted Brendan as the underdog, and didn't make Shelly seem to be in much danger once the POV meeting was held.I am not sure if that's because it is cut and dried that Brendan is toast and Shelly is safe, or whether they are trying to worry the Brendan fans and they think he will make it. They certainly showed Jeff as ready to vote Brendan out, and Dani's group is clearly set. OTOH, I felt Shelly's phone call was as you suggested a good wrap to her story arc. But there is always the chance they are building her up as sympathetic. I can't stand her theatrics, they make Rachel look understated, so I'm kind of biased. I do feel that Jeff and Jordan are getting the hero and heroine edit, with Dani as the dark horse bad girl. I just don't see how Jeff stays in the house with Brendan gone, if Dani's side wins HOH. Dani made it clear she is going after strong competitors, which would be Jeff -- not Rachel. One other reason that Jeff and Jordan might vote out Shelley is they simply don't want to go through babysitting Widow Rachel for another whole week or more. I think both of them have been shown saying that it would suck, which is why Jeff asked Dani to backdoor Rachel. I can see their point.

At that point, though, he didn't know about the unitard. Yes, it was safe to assume something bad could be coming, but none of the other prizes were really that bad. The solitary confinement came with a phone call from home. And, 24 hours away from Rachel is like a vacation and might end up being better than Kalia's non-specific vacation.

I disagree. I watched some of last night's live broadcast, and Brendan is gone, gone, gone. He and Rachel were in the purple room by themselves all night, while everyone else was hanging out together. Rachel told Brendan that (in her infinite lack of wisdom) she thought JeJo were out to get her and that she'd be the next one out after Brendan if JeJo win HOH. She said that if she won HOH, she'd put up Jeff and Dani, and if Jeff won POV, she'd put up Jordan in his place. Doesn't sound like the talk of someone with any secret alliances . . . or, for that matter, any real plans.

Your assessment seems to be spot on. I'll even retract my prediction of a 3-3 vote in favor of a landslide to see Brendon out of the house.Some snippets from a spoiler site, with events occuring after the renomination: Jeff approached Brendon to tell him that they would be voting to save him if it wasn't a guarantee that Adam would be on their side. Fearing that Adam was going to float over to the side of Porsche and Kalia, Jeff and Jordan realized that they wouldn't have enough votes to save Brendon anyways. With a tie vote, it would be up to Daniele to break the tie, and the thought process quickly became that she would vote Brendon right out the door. When the conversation started involving Jordan and Rachel on Wednesday (in the pool), Jordan seems to have had enough of her in the house. Jordan went off on her about how she had to be babysat in the house and how Rachel could never keep quiet about anything. The emotions of both women became very heated in this conversation, and it quickly became obvious that the foursome in this alliance weren't going to be working together any longer. Now heading into the Thursday eviction show on Big Brother 13, it seems that the only person that will be supporting Brendon with a vote is Rachel.

The tide turned on Brendan for a variety of reasons....some of which were the way Brenchel behaved together, the PDA, the beds,
the late night sex (and other hamsters finding a used towel, or seeing the sheets, etc. One night was in the single bed right next to Shelly while Shelly was sleeping. Wonder what Shelly would have done if she had awakened at that point since she was already on her last nerve with the two of them), Brendan's voracious appetite, Rachel's cooking for Brendan where she would cook more than even he would eat and the rest would be wasted. A lot of complaining that the house was running out of food this week.BTW, the trick with feeds to is use flashback....check out a BB site that tells you what is worth watching with the BB time and camera, and go straight to that 2 or 4 minutes or so to get the gist. Like Jordan in the pool telling Rachel like it is ....that she needed baby sitting the previous week, etc., with Jeff and Brendan getting into it, too, and having Brenchel say with straight faces to JeJo that they had never thrown them under the bus... BB left so much out last night... that was the fight people wanted to see on the show. The scene by the couches about not voting for them was just for openers! They don't want to deal with either of those, so they'll back off and keep the cameras off her as much as possible, but all the while they'll be doing their DR manipulation to try to get her voted out.

Songs are published by publishing companies that in turn belong to one of three performing rights organizations in the U.S.: ASCAP, BMI or SESAC. (Canada used to have two, but they merged into one, called SOCAN, in 1989.) The performing rights organizations license public performances of their members' music to network television, cable channels, nightclubs, stores, restaurants, politicians and other places where the songs will be performed with a public audience (except for dramatic performances, such as in a play, which follow a different regime). "Curious, how much of a tune has to be performed in order to owe a royalty? A full 8 bars? Or would a one or two bar snatch qualify? And would it have to be the words with melody, or would the words of a song without melody (or horribly sung) qualify, or what?" I believe virtually any amount, including a one or two bar snatch, would require payment of a royalty under the PRO contracts. And it counts even if you just hum the song and never sing the words, since someone composed and published the music -- unless it's a tune in the public domain, such as an old folk song. "And does Weird Al Yankovic (for example) pay royalties for his parodies?" The authors of the songs that Weird Al parodies do, in fact, collect royalties. Similarly, the authors of songs sampled in other songs collect royalties for the use of the samples. There have been some acrimonious disputes about the value of a sample. In one of the most egregious cases, a music publisher threatened a rock group (that used sampled music in the background and had already agreed to give the authors of the sampled song full composing credit for the music) with refusing permission for use of the sampled music unless the authors of the original song were given 100% of the publishing credit. Because the song was becoming a hit, the group felt like it had little choice but to agree -- because the song would have to be withdrawn from release if they didn't. And that's why the sole composing credit on the song "Bittersweet Symphony" by the Verve, which was written by Richard Ashcroft but used a sample from "The Last Time", reads "Mick Jagger-Keith Richards". "There are a lot of songs that might have the same lead-in or similar progressions (I.e. almost every dang country western song before 1950), so there have to be limits." If the song can't be identified, how would a publisher be able to prove that it owns the song? But that's not going to happen very often on BB13. "And, for example If a Herb Alpert melody was played on a piano instead of a trumpet, would a royalty liability ensue?" Sure. It's a public performance of a published song. "Finally, how much of a bill has Dangerous Sagebrush Dan racked up for his birthday dittys?" I haven't seen any public performances of them, so I'd say ... about $0.

I still say it's a tempest in a teapot. The bad PR that publicly penalizing a black woman for singing on a reality show would surely cost SeeBS more than shelling out a few grand for royalties would, and for any rights owner to make an issue of it, especially if said rights owner is white, would cost them more in bad PR than the lost royalties. Kalia and her black friends and fans will absolutely raise a huge stink and play the race card if anybody white pursues royalties for her singing, so SeeBS, the producers, and any royalty rights owner considering b1tching about this would be well advised to let the matter drop. Unless the amount in question would reach close to or into 6 figures, it ain't worth the fight IMO.

From what I have seen on talk shows is that someone can sing a line from a song but no more...if they were to go on for more than that, then the royalties kick in. The hosts on the View have mentioned this. (Now, my understanding may not be correct, but it's what I have observed.) On the BB feeds the WBRB cuts in somewhere around the end of the first line of a song. Sometimes, one of the hamsters will sing just one line and nothing happens....like Jeff cooking yesterday and he sorta sang one line of a song, changing the last few words (don't recall the song). Then he stopped. Nothing happened. The thing with Kalia is that she keeps on going and going.
Production is very put out with her. She has a rules - don't - apply - to - me attitude on other matters, too, at times, so it's part of her overall attitude/lack of respect of authority. I've watched her wondering if she has ever worked in an office, with a boss, having to abide by rules. Probably not...seeing her background. She had to listen to a director when she was on Broadway, but I heard her tell someone that she was over that (being on Broadway) now. I see her as a creative free spirit who has her own drum beat. And that drum beat is going to bite her in the tush if she doesn't have more self control.
