mistyrose52 795 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Fitness Correspondent" 01-10-08, 09:36 AM (EST) "So, now that we're in the thick of this, who is your pick for Fashion Week Designers??" LAST EDITED ON 01-12-08 AT 01:56 PM (EST) I know it's a ways away, but time goes quickly on these reality shows, does it not?? Who do you think or who do you WANT to make it to Fashion Week? In MY own mind, things have changed a bit, and it's taken a while for me to really form my faves, but in bits and peices, I'm starting to get some ideas, and they are still subject to change. BUT, for now, this is my categorical rank for the final three: 3rd place: Jillian-quiet and pristine. 2nd place: Kit or Chris (can't decide yet-one is very quiet and yet never fails to astound. The other is loud, crazy, and is growing on me more every week!) 1st place: Christian-just incredible every time, even if his hairdo, and personality are a bit whacky... At this point, anyway, those are my faves. This season really has some amazing designers. I WOULD put Rami in the top, and I'm sure many will, but after his statement last night, which I felt was quite arrogant (about not dealing with anything other than mature customers), I feel, without immunity, he should have been auf'd. If you can't pull your weight and design even for doggies, which they did on one season, then you are not a true designer, in THEIR eyes, anyway. So, this is my list. Especially if Christian takes to heart the criticism from last night. "RE: So, now that we're in the thick of this, who is your pick for Fashion Week Designers??" I like Kit the best of all the designers. I think she may just win. She is young and fresh and always interesting in a good way. This applies to Kit's designs and Kit herself. I also think Jillian is likely to make Fashion Week. She is very professional but not too one-note. Jillian herself is not that interesting, though If there are three, I say Rami is the third, but he is kind of dull to be the ultimate winner. He and his dresses are very good looking but not really outstanding/memorable. Christian is the spice, and just a little too much. Jay won, but Austen didn't. LAST EDITED ON 01-19-08 AT 03:04 PM (EST) From the least likely - Victorya: She has won two, but she's also been on the block more than once. She's a bit bland, and some of her fashions are nightmares. She won't make it through many more episodes. SweetPea: 'Pea only pulls out something good when she's scared that her back is against the wall. She also isn't all that strong at standing by her vision, which is never good in the eyes of the judges. I don't see 'Pea being this seasons Wendy Pepper. Kevin: I just don't like his designs. I don't think the judges are all that wow'd either. Christopher: Ok, the resident drama queen has the "artistic vision" of Santino, but he's also got that whiney thing going that puts people off. Blaming the client, whining when the judges don't "get" him. Hummm. Chris: He got a remarkable second chance, and even better, he has listened to the judges and calmed down his tendency to go overboard and costumey. As a result, they have begun to really value what he sends down the runway. Jillian: She's safe. She is consistent, quiet and turns out good stuff. Kit: Based solely on the editing - (what, there's a KIT on this show?} I'd say she's a definite. Rami: He may be nailed as a one note over the next few episodes, but he may end up pulling an Oolie, and making that work for him. Whether he wins the competition or not, like Oolie, he will definitely get some sort of work in the business when this show is over. Had to worry when she was with Ricky, but then I figured it would be Ricky's week to go. No way was Rami going, and it wasn't Sweet P's fault, so I quickly knew Kit would be Auf'd. New Picks: Jillian: She's the favorite now. Rami: If he wasn't auf'd last night, he ain't gonna be. Victorya: Her record is becoming pretty stellar. Christian: He might edge Victorya for the 3rd spot. --------------------------------------- Sweet P: Yawn. Her "day" dress wasn't good. If Rami hadn't been so rude to her, she'd probably be gone. This seems to disagree with the thread, but outside of the prom dress fiasco and I think one other challenge, he has been the best designer in this competition. He's like Santino with less clunkers. And to be fair, on the prom dress challenge, he had by far the worst customer. Let's face it. Jillian's been shown in a time crunch several times so far and she just doesn't stand out much. A lot of the stuff has looked good, but she has no story, we know nothing, and outside of the jacket, I remember little. Victorya's gotten a quasi-villain edit but not really, and she's had some really stinkers. Sweet P's just destined to find the challenge she can't do, this could have been it without the pairs. She's not that high fashion and that's fine...just not for this show. Rami was shown to be kind of a ##### this week and a one-note for a while, that may get him there, it has in the past. Chris, who knows. Already eliminated once and I think he'll be given a graceful boot soon on a challenge where he misjudges whether to be subtle. He can be great on subtle (prom dress) or flamboyant (AG), he just needs to choose the right one. Ricky, no. If I had to choose three Christian Rami Victorya If they went F4, add in Jillian. I woul've full on picked Kit just a few days ago...but with her out, here are my top three: Christian: flawless designs and too much of a character for the producers to let him go. Jillian: refined, yet fun ('does my haior look bigger today than yesterday?') Victorya: if she can get over some of her unlikableness, and think she can stick around. It's been a final four for a couple of seasons now so I imagine that I'll just name four comepetitors destined for the Bryant Park extravaganza...ahem... Jillian: Kooky? Sure. Talented? You betcha. (One of my original 4) Victorya: Bitchy? You betcha. Talented? Uh-huh. Sure. (Also one of my original 4. Kit and Kevin were the other 2. And if things go as they have been, Jill and Vic won't be there very long.) Christian: At first I thought, sure, he's got talent, but wow does he need a slap upside the head or what? I still think that way. But it could be a good show. If not particularly horizontally ruffled. One of SweetP/Rami/Chris: (oops. that was six names.) Preferrably SweetP. But probably Rami. I'd have a raised eyebrow if Chris makes it, but I'd enjoy the experience of seeing his runway show. Just please, NOT RICKY! Anyone but Ricky! (He's like Amber from BB8. Now that the talent pool has shuffled a bit-Kit being a favorite for me, too-I have to rearrange my faves, too. I really do like Christian, even with his cute and curt little ego. He's pretty good at design and production. Doesn't need much direction, either. Jillian-I'm hoping will step it up to make it to the final 3. So far, she's been pretty good, and not too over the top, or a one-noter. Sweet Pea-believe it or not. I would NOT have picked her a few weeks ago, but she's starting to grow on me. And with some of the others gone, and some of the blander ones still around, I vote for her. Well, I guess, I'd have to say, it's a close race between her and Victorya. Although I do NOT like V's attitude most of the time, her design's are great. I'm hoping Rami does something outrageous that will finally throw him under the bus this week-he's had his 19th chance to do something DIFFERENT, but they still complain and do nothing. Otherwise, what else is there to say? Chris is a great guy, just out of his element here. He belongs on Broadway, or somewhere similar, designing costumes, and I think he knows that.
