What kind of crip college is she attending? Dr Stan wasn't talking about himself. He was using "we" collectively, to include Iyanla, Rana, and Rhonda. Of course he wasn't there Season 1. I haven't been watching the show lately because I assumed they were all reruns that I had seen before. I don't remember seeing Dr. Stan (I love him!) talk to Cassie1 (the little snot!!!) so I was wondering if someone could let me know if they are showing any new programming or all they all just reruns? After the race, the SO alumni all went back to the house and were sitting by the pool w/Dr. Stan, Rhonda, and Iyanla. Dr. Stan was going through the group having them talk about how SO changed their lives. When he got to Cassie1, she was a real snot and basically treated him like he was an outsider. He even had to say, "well I know I wasn't there, I mean the SO house..." She didn't look so great either - really bagged out. And for her age...too bad. I remember that during season 2, she came back after falling off the wagon to get some help, but then they turned it into something about her being there to support Haily, who had also taken the path of partying. They just ended up arguing, then Cassie left. I also noticed that she and Nyanza didn't seem to be joined at the hip on that last day, and Christine (was that her name?) didn't show. Weren't the three of them the trifecta? Starting that little clique just showed how shallow they were, and how long friendships built on petty backstabbing last. But I also remember them turning on each other toward the end. When Nyanza was basically saying that Christine was acting like a desperate slut (which she really was, with the leg spreading and shameless come-ons at the nightclub). That might have been the beginning of the end. I just remember how nasty they were to Mo and Andy - and I mean, really nasty. Spreading rumors about Maureen not bathing, and picking on every single thing Andy did. That girl could not win with the three of them. And where were the life coaches? Oh yeah, nowhere! I could not understand in SO3, when the life coaches put the entire house on probation, saying it was the most disfunctional house they had ever seen. Uh, excuse me, remember Season 1 LCs? You have a real good point there. It's true those three were really mean to Mo and Andy. Although they seem to let Laurie be. (truely she was so sad all the time, who would have the heart to be mean to her) sometimes that's why I cringe when I watch shows with large groups of women. Never saw her Season 1. Didn't start watching until Summer reruns, after she'd already graduated. Only Amy, Hailey, Lynelle, Rain, and Susan were left. And, Josie entered shortly afterward. LOL And petmama, Cassie1 was one of the original HGs. She was very thin and fit, plain and tomboyish, but she had a great body. In only a few short years, she looks a LOT older and haggard, and she's probably only about 25. Unfortunately, I think you're right about 40! I really don't think her life improved that much as a result of SO. She was pretty much right out of high school when she entered the house, and her goal was to get into college. She accomplished it - with a LOT of help - and never seemed appreciative of all the hard work everyone else around her was doing to get her there. And her graduation present? OMG, they shot the wad on her! In addition to getting her into college (and I can't remember the specifics on that - maybe someone else could chime in if they remember), at the ceremony, she got a vespa (sp? - a scooter), which she got on and crashed within 5 minutes of receiving it, and a trip oversees to all these incredible places. Can't remember exactly where she went, but she was planning to study archeology, so they sent her everywhere an archeology student would love to go. It was an extremely lavish graduation gift. No one else has ever gotten anything of that magnitude. But Cassie was the baby of the group and they all felt like moms/big sisters to her, and wanted to take care of her. They had a fundraiser for her tuiton, and I believe they raised a good amount of money. Andy decided that instead of giving money, she would buy her an outfit that she could wear on interviews. So Andy bought her a very basic suit that was age appropriate and presented it to her, and Cassie had a fit, complaining that the $100 would have actually helped her and she doesn't want a stupid suit. I really felt bad for Andy, who was trying to do something personal for her. No matter how much coaching, no matter how many etiquette classes they gave her (which she HATED), she's just as crass as when she entered the house. And believe me, I'm not one to judge about being young and a little rebellious and having fun - I had my share (a long time ago! haha), but it doesn't excuse how rude she was to so many people who tried to help her. I get that she was probably a little embarrassed and feeling like the charity case, but that's where you learn grace.
