I can't believe that this guy, who was absolutely the best QB and most entertaining player for the last two years, is on so many people's hate list. And for what? Partying? (who didn't, in college). Taking stuff from the store? Lots of kids do that. His attitude? He was a 19 and 20 YO thrust into the national spotlite, on a team which managed to win the national championship, who wouldn't be affected? Lincoln, maybe? Or Ghandi? Mohammad? But a normal kid from a small Alabama town? I think we have to give him a break on that point. Yeah he was accused of sexual assault but he's a young kid and hasn't been charged yet, and really, what has he done to deserve this kind of hate from elsewhere? Why is excellence a reason for resentment? Well, let's just dismiss those pesky rape allegations, and what seems to have been a really inept handling of the investigation (or possibly a cover-up) by FSU security and the administration as you seem to, shall we? For me, that makes all the difference. Rape is not comparable to shoplifting. We all have to come to our own conclusions as to whether Jameis raped that girl as she alleged (a med exam revealed semen on her body and injuries), and all I have to go on is what I read. But from that there are some serious concerns about whether he did it or not, and rape is a bit (in my book) more of a concern that some of the other minor things he's done.
