I've been to Belize numerous times, and have to say, while this show may give it the needed boost in tourism, is surely isn't giving it a good name. First of all, they are only showing Ambergris Caye, which is the most developed area of the country. The mainland of Belize is much more 'wild' and beautiful - the people there are warm and friendly (although, not as friendly as some of the 'singles' on TI). In the past, it was sad for me to tell people that I was travelling to Belize and have them ask, "Where?" Now, it will be even sadder for them to say, "Ooh, you mean that place where Temptation Island was filmed?" This cool little country will be forever tied with this stupid crap. Temptation Island does suck.

Thought I might also be able to add a bit of info to this board...Hurricane Keith is the Hurricane that passed through the area in the Beginning of October - I'm not sure when the filmed this, but I kinda hope it affected things for them. I read in one of the posts, here, that a hurricane shut filming down early. It was pretty devastating, especially for Ambergris Caye and a smaller, less developed Caye called Caye Caulker. The mainland was pretty well flooded too. Also, in almost all coastal areas of Belize, there are terrible sand flies. They look small and harmless, but take it from me, long after all the hard-ons calm down, these people will still be scratching their ankles. Makes me a wee-bit happier

You hope the crew/filming was affected by Hurricane Kieth.....Before making such idiotic and hateful statments you might have wanted to do a bit of research.... Yes, two days after the show wrapped the hurricane hit and stranded/trapped 44 of the 140 crew members on the island for four days. Since you have been to the island you know that it is only about 22 miles long by 2 miles wide and not necessarily equipped to deal with a category 4 Hurricane (Same strength as Andrew - and maybe you remember what that did to Miami in only a day) for four days. The island was in the wall of the eye the entire time as was Caye Caulker... You know it's a wonderful experience to have your parents think you are dead because CNN is reporting that the island you are on is under 10 feet of water and no one could of possibly survived. Two local Americans who worked closely with the crew during the shoot lost their lives to Hurricane Kieth -- those who lived through it know how lucky we are as well as the value of a flushing toilet. Just because you assume this show will somehow taint your "beloved Belize," you might want to consider that the fact that this airing so soon after they where hit by a devastating natural disaster which not only claimed property but lives as well, is a good thing. It will help to keep its tourism in tact and bring in money that the country will need to rebuild what has not yet been rebuilt. You must know that Tourism is a major part of Belize's economy... Or would you rather Belize suffer the same fate as Hounduras after it was hit by Hurricane Mitch -- It has been three years and its turism is still suffering even though they are pretty much rebuilt. Just for the record, I hope you nor anybody else who reads this ever has to go though an experience like that... careful what you wish on other people....
