They didn't tell us to watch for the hidden clue, and they totally snagged almost everyone! Here's hoping this is a big buildup for Mole 4 so that we have an exciting search! They really got most of us...just like the Survivor producers kinda tried to make the Survivors think that they had merged, without really coming out and saying it....ABC told us that Michael was the Mole, without telling us that they were going to leave clues....now I know how Shii Ann felt..... OK, I must say that there are TWO totally great things about this whole Boatman getting executed thing. Number one, it was just great seeing it happen, thinking of all the people who were ABSOLUTELY SURE he was the Mole and all the unbelievably suprised looks on their faces!! Number two, and possibly more important, the show DIDN'T let us down like a lot of people were sort of thinking it would!!! Granted, a lot of "celebrity" editions of shows DO suck, but I really don't think this is one of them now. The producers DIDN'T insult the intelligence of the Mole fans by making the "hidden clues" really obvious or by giving us a really dramatic, obvious Mole. LAST EDITED ON 01-30-03 AT 11:46 AM (EST) That was a very pleasant surprise. Jims, I love you - you did a great job spoiling in light of past experience. However, I'm really thankful that the producers decided to go a different direction this time around. I was one of those who protested most last season when Bill turned out to be the Mole - I even said I wouldn't come back to watch because I hate it being made so obvious - I think I was Katefomo because I refused to believe they'd put it on a platter like that. So, I love what happened here and I hope Jims isn't to traumatized by the whole thing. So, now that Michael is out of the way - here's what's gonna happen. I'm going to post it here and then go over and put in my final picks with gtmike. Kathy is the Mole - to me she's the least obvious one - she's spent time every week complaining about how difficult everything is and how much she hates it - points to least obvious to me and she's the Mole. (problematic for me was her reaction in the graveyard - she seemed genuinely puzzled when Erik didn't reveal what he said when he opened the coffin - of course, there might have been something we dind't get exposed to and her surprise was just for us!) Eliminated - Erik - now I understand these are all actors and they do a better job of leading us away from the truth, but I thought his reaction last night when Michael got the red screen was genuine (am I gullible or what!!?!?!?). So, he genuinely doesn't know who the Mole is. Unless he can recover in one day (I assume in real time their final quiz was the next day), he's gonna lose. Winner - Freddy - she didn't seem surprised at all last night. I think she has Kathy pegged and she'll be perfect or close on the last quiz while Erik has to split his quiz and go both ways. That's my story and I'm gonna stick to it for 13 more days! And anyone who is influenced by this in any way is an idiot because I've never come up with a good spoiler yet (although I was co-champ of the first anti-bootee for S3).
