IdiotCowboy's Cornertime With Kismet

<The stage is set as normal. We see Kismet walking towards the chosen corner. ICB is sitting on his stool, sweating slightly. Kismet begins speaking into the camera. >

Thank you for joining us once again on Cornertime. Today we will get to know ICB a little bit better. ICB is a regular of renown. He is a spoiler guy and one of our literary geniuses. He has given us the Epic parts 1, 2 and 3, Uncle Odysseus and an episode of Blowsvivor.

<Kismet arrives near Icb and the two shake hands. Kismet takes a seat.>

Thank you for the interview Icb. Why are you in the corner today and who sent you here?

I have no idea... I was minding my business and wham; I was here looking at this nice paint job you got. <ICB points back to blank corner> The least you could do is add a little color to the place, maybe some green checks or something. I hear Webby might have a few extra. Oh and it's a little hot in here too!

ICB..I know all kinds of secrets I could reveal about you. So I would suggest you come clean on why you are here.

Ok, if you have to know I think it was Sir Erist, Lady Boni, and the rest of the Epic gang. They thought a little corner time would help focus me back on them.

See that wasn't so hard now was it? Ok, now how did you find the board and why did you stay?

I tried really hard to NOT get into S2, but after the third episode I started setting the VCR to record it. Well as luck would have it I forgot to set it the night Mike fried himself, and not knowing what happened sent me on a search of the Survivor sites looking for a summary. I looked at a lot of sites that night, and finally found one that had the information I was looking for. The site had a really good play by play of the whole show, and lots of interesting stuff concerning spoilers and the like. A few days later I went looking for this site again, but I couldn't find it. Finally I went back and started looking at the other sites, and decided on SB as my site of choice for Survivor information. Initially I was just going to read, but AyaK's GUT thread pulled me in and I started posting a little. Later Vamp and Dalton lured me onto OT, and the rest is history. Interestingly enough I generally bookmark things I intend to go back to and for some reason I didn't do it with the mystery site, or I probably would never have come here... FATE I guess.

<ICB grins at Kismet>

That Fate is a bitch ain't she? Don't answer that. Instead, tell us who are your favorite posters and why?

I have a lot of favorites, and I don't want to miss anyone... but I'll give it a try. First off on spoilers IceCat, Sleeeve, and Ayak were must-reads from the time I got here, later on I began to appreciate OFG, GG, krautboy, Minstrel, flying squirrel, volmel, and others I'm sure I'm forgetting. Let's see for humor I love Survivorerist, he cracks me up. Shakes and Superman do too, but at times their writing is a little too dark for my tastes. I'll always have a special place for Vamps and Dalton, and from the bar DK, Roni, Ebug, and Rio stand out. My other favorites in no particular order are moonbaby, aymelek, dabo, Lady_T, itzlisa, mistofleas, lisapooh, monkeyboy, GT, Pendragon, survivorchick, samiam, darbygirl, rhino, boomerang, sherpadave, and
Mon Cherrie. Oh, lets see... anyone one I missed? Oh yeah, Kismet... yeah... you are... erhm... you are my favorite poster here... really... <sheepish grin, fans self with cowboy hat>... it's really getting hot!

You are sweating some, but the corner isn't designed for comfort. Why did you choose the name idiotcowboy? Do you consider yourself an idiot?

A few years ago I would play Command & Conquer 2 On-Line with some of my friends. I don't remember my initial "name" but as time went on I went by idiotboy, because of a dumb strategy I kept trying (it never did work). It stuck in a way, and when the same friends and I signed up for a fantasy football league, I tried to use idiotboy as well. Fortunately idiotboy was
already taken, so I became idiotcowboy instead. I've used it ever since, and it has grown on me.

I'm glad you are making it grow on us as well. You were a spoiler, do you have any bragging rights?

Almost two. I correctly picked Amber to go when she did. I was real proud of my reasoning, and I even convinced several people to go along with me. Some however were very skeptical until Ellipsiiis and the Boston Herald both picked her as well. Others maintained this was the "proof" the show was rigged. Regardless, my reasons were all sound then, and I stand by then now despite the fact several didn't pan out to be true. The "two" was my steadfast belief that Colby had won the whole thing, which remained until the final vote said "Tina".

Your Epic tale of Sir Erist and the Virgin was a huge success. How did the epic start out? Are you planning on continuing it?

The Epic started with a conversation in the bar with you back before I even knew you very well (believe it or not). You were telling me how much you liked my initial post on OT. I though you meant Uncle Odysseus which I had posted a week or so earlier (and few read), but really it was the shout-out thread I had done. Anyway I started to try and figure out a way to make an Uncle Odysseus type story into a shout-out thread as well. In order to do that it had to be a lot bigger in scope, and for a while I couldn't think of anything. Then one night in the bar monkeyboy was trying to get people to tell stories, so I made up one using the people who were there that night. It went real well and I did it several nights in a row. One night I did one for Roni and Survivorerist, and while I was telling some inane thing it just came to me, and The Epic Tale of Sir Erist and the Virgin was born... and yes I do hope to finishing it. Look for part 4 sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Wow, and Uncle Odysseus? do you plan to write any more of those?

<Cowboy explains while fanning himself with his hat.>

Uncle Odysseus is something altogether different. It was a whim. I know some people won't believe this, but it is one of the first things I ever wrote even remotely like it. I have dabbled at writing before, but never have completed much of anything. I have a whole folder on my computer filled with half started stories, and outlines of stuff that will never be finished or even
looked at much...

Kismet, I hate to be rude, but could I take off my shirt it's really hot in here.

It's not rude at all. Please boost my ratings..err I mean please try to make yourself more comfortable.

Thanks

<ICB pulls off his button down shirt revealing a muscle shirt with the following written on it "Vote Early and Often for ICB">

Now where was I... oh yeah, I pulled part of one of then into the "Slipping" story I posted for the SSC, but honestly I feel that story was rushed a bit and could use a little more work before it is close to being complete.

ICB! You didn't pay for advertising! Take that shirt off immediately!!

<ICB grins sheepishly and takes off his muscle shirt. Kismet adds 2 hours to his time for unapproved self-whoring.>

You wrote an episode of Blowsvivor to critical acclaim. Who's persona did you enjoy playing with the most.

Thanks! I had a lot of fun with everyone Superman, DK, IceCat, and Mon Cherie especially. Some of the other's were a little hard to get into, but I tried to let everyone have something interesting to say or do. The side story was a lot of fun as well .

Oh I'm sure it was a lot of fun. For you! Why did you reveal my evil plot for board domination? Did you think I
wouldn't notice?

<ICB begins squirming and looking around. Kismet merely cocks an eyebrow.>

Well... you know... everyone one was already talking about it. That ebug girl especially. You aren't still mad are you?

Me? No, I'm not mad anymore, but you did park your car under Hawkeye's nest.. Don't worry I'm sure it will be fine. Tell us about you Icb..

I'm from a little town in west Texas, south of Lubbock. Living in a suburb of Dallas now. I'm 33 years old (for another week or so) and I have two sons that are the joy of my life.

If someone wrote a book about you, what would the title be and why?

"Incomplete", there are just so many reasons and so many ways that can be interpreted I think I will leave it at that, rather incomplete... just like this answer

Well said, is there anything else you want us to know about you?

I don't post from work, but I generally read the boards around lunchtime. This has helped keep my DAW totals low, as often by the time I get around to posting the thresd has run its course. It does not however mean I don't like or appreciate the effort people put into it, and I hope my lack of response does not come across that way.

Thank you ICB, you may return to the corner now.

<ICB stands and faces the corner. Written in permanent marker on his back reads "Vote Early and Often for ICB" The writing is quickly covered by a blurry editing circle. >

This concludes this segment of cornertime. Thank you for joining us..
