"Why don't they use their own bathrooms?"
Okay we heard Kelly and Kim talking about using bathrooms in the morning and at night today. The HG's have a bathroom in their rooms that are fully functional so why must they use each others bathroom at different times of the day? Kim says she uses Kelly's in the monring but not in the evening, the n she talked about using anther one durin gthe day. I understand one bathroom is nicer than the others but gee get over it and use your own!

I don't get that, either. I know that there is one with a nice tub that we've seen Lisa1 soaking in (God help me with THAT image!!). And I do understand a HG wanting to soak in that tub every now and then. But in the am to put make-up on???
I don't get much of anything that Kim does. She's really freaky.

I don't see anything in the house as "their's". Like at college when your in the dorms. If your floors showers are full you go up or down a floor. Maybe the lighting in the bathroom by Kelly's room is better for hair and make up? And if it bothered Kelly so much she should have said something to Kim in a normal tone of voice and not gone crazy on her.

thats right, The bathrooms in the house are for everybodies use. Kelly makes it sound like shes paying rent there. If i gotta go potty and im downstairs, im using the closest bathroom. If i need better light, ill use the bathroom with the best light. Who told Kelly she was the only one to use that bathroom. She needs a reality check. If someone is in the bathroom while your lazy a** is still in bed TOUGH TOOTSIE!! Get your lazy butt out of bed now. I do relize she needs her beauty sleep but get a life, Build a bridge and get over it alreay geez.

I hadn't really thought of it til you asked, but yeah, why would they take the chance of going into each others rooms and try to share bathrooms? It seems like such conflict fodder.
To have roommates share a the house together smoothly you have people whose motivations are to just get along smoothly but with all these women on camera they want to get the whole getting ready thing done right. (i think doing things exactly to specification is Kim's motivation for everything, really)
They probably swap bathrooms for lots of reasons -- who knows what -- details with water pressure, cleaning schedule problems, that one tub, lighting, someone is using another one, etc, but I bet that getting camera ready is fairly high priority for those "I care so much about what people think" ladies.

Lisa A and Allison originally shared this bathroom. It has a large jacuzzi tub. Allison was once shown taking a bubble bath in it. When Lisa A took Allison's place, Lisa N told her that everyone liked to use it because it was so big. Maybe Lisa A didn't pass this information on to Kelly. If Kim's just doing her hair and putting on makeup, any bathroom will do. It doesn't have to be Lisa A and Kelly's. If Kim wants to use the jacuzzi occasionally, I doubt Kelly would have a problem with it. But, if Kim is monopolizing it, I think Kelly's got a legitimate gripe.

I think Kelly's point was that Kim was using it in the morning very loudly and disturbing her when she slammed the door. I do not think she had a problem with her using the bathroom in general.
Kelly's point was that when she confronted Kim on this, Kim put it back in her lap as though Kelly did something wrong.

I agree, and in the case of using the bathroom in the morning it just appears as if Kim is using it to put on her makeup not a nice soak in the tub
Kim has been counting the days until she is the senior house member, I think it's just more of her making her status known.
TO be so rude as to wake someone else up when it is not your room is just plain rude. I'll give her a break that until yesterdays episode she supposedly was not aware of it but now that she knows we will see if she changes her ways.

What would make the difference is whether the other ladies use it. I do believe that I have seen Jodi in there as well. But the editors will never let us know if that is the case or not.

Yes, I think Kelly expressed quite clearly that she feels Kim is a total waste of her time and her features and tone of voice tell her that everytime she speaks to her. Kim mentioned something that her bathroom doesn't seem like a bathroom to her and the bathroom Kelly shares with Lisa reminds Kim of her bathroom at home and that's why she uses it. I think she goes in there in the morning to put makeup on. I bet she doesn't shower in there each day. BTW...Kelly did say that it wasn't just the noise, it bothered her that Kim was in her bathroom.
Have you noticed that Kim and Christie blow dry their hair sitting in the closet? Now if it was just Kim, someone would imply Kim has problems, but I saw Christie doing the same thing. My guess is that their bathroom doesn't have a large mirror. I also think the washer and dryer are in their closet. Would anyone here want to put makeup on in their closet?
I think the bathroom Kelly has was designed for an adult woman and therefore has a nice vanity area and mirror. I think the other bathrooms were designed as guest bathrooms or for kids.

In my opinon they all live in the house and have the right to use any house facility they want...any chair, dish or bathroom, etc. I believe that no one has the right to claim anything except their bed and their personal belongings. Of course they need to respect each others time when it comes to bathrooms, but that's another topic.

Even though it seems very petty, I can't help but feel this whole bathroom thing is about power. Kelly was the last new hg and NuLisa is her roommate. Kim is now the "senior" hg. It's not like NuLisa is gonna say she doesn't like it (at least not without going in circles), and I think Kim knows that. I noticed how Kim looked at Kelly when she said something about, "maybe we can go over the house rules" or something to that effect like she was in control or something. Obviously Kim never asked Kelly if it was okay and she should have. Kelly obviously never said it wasn't okay, because maybe she thought this is just the way it is having been the last new hg in the SOH.
Regardless I think people should respect other people's space. If there's a bathroom that's "more" than the other ones, then just ask the roommates what's convenient and comfortable for them. Kim is not being inconvenienced because she has a bathroom, but IMO she is being inconsiderate, intrusive, and assuming. Kim's attitude also bordered on entitlement IMO.

Yeppers. it's me again following you about...
This is a pissing war - each is trying to piss and mark the territory. Didn't anyone notice how Kim came back up and though she wasn't going to eat - sits at the dinner table forcing the atmosphere? then she follows Kelly into another room and even though Kelly says no, Kim sits down and starts doing her cards right there.
This is about who can stake out the most territory.
Kim has won the battle because she has made Kelly look silly over getting upset about a bathroom. In reality, Kelly stated what Dr. STAN TOLD HER TO DO - which was a legitimate complaint that she wanted bathroom privacy and use of the bathroom closest to her.
Several women - Lisa2 and Jodi - have commented about HOW LONG it takes Kim to do her bathroom thing. I would guess she is in there at least an hour primping. Now if someone wanted to go use the sink and do makeup - no problem but if I wanted to take a bath or shower, hell no I wouldn't want her in there!
Also, it is Kelly who has problems with intimacy and sexuality... maybe she doesn't like Kim looking at her when she's naked?
The door is a hinged one - so hence no lock. Anyone can come barging in there. Personally I find the design stupid as the toilet, bath and shower should be separate from the vanities to make the house more usuable. From looking over this house I think it has been on the "market" for some time and needs an interior renovation to sell in today's market.

Kim wants to be in control since day one. Since day one she has been making rules for the other HG's and telling them how to do it in HER HOUSE.
I've said it from Day One. These women are idiots. There should be regular meetings to discuss chores, grocery buying and put up chore charts. Everyone should have a chance to say their beef and it should be voted upon with majority rules.
Instead you have crap like this developing - as well as the fight between Jill and TJ over nothing but stupid stuff - and the B-M producers lap it up and purr.

...As usual, Mizjazmine, you're soooo on it...(imo) it is about entitlement...Kim feels entitled to do just as she pleases and because she lives there she feels she has the run of the house (spoiled brat) and no one should object. well, I hate to burst her bubble, but if the bathroom is adjacent or part of a bedroom suite, she shouldn't just barge in assuming that is her right .... because it isn't...she needs to learn "something call common courtesy" as "she's very lacking" in that department.

Kelly is the new hg. She hasn't been around, but that doesn't mean the others should be rude to her.

I believe I heard Kim say that her's was not a "normal" bathroom.
To me, it comes down to feeling entitled. Kim is so early in her healing, that she still playing the trauma ranking game. Mine is worse than yours. I think that Kelly being abandoned by her mother due to her mother's mental illness makes Kim feel like she has to protect her #1 trauma ranking. Kim's reactions are very childlike (using someone else's stuff, stomping around and slamming doors, attention seeking). It is hard to keep growing as a person when you are being abused. You kind of stop. I see that as where Kim is (on the show)
And I have said this in other areas, I GET Kim. I KNOW she is traumatized. I think she is just early in her treatment.

I don't know about anyone else, but I am sick of them making such a huge deal about the bathrooms. It seems so childish to me. Threatening to go home because of a bathroom? Come on! It is time for them to get over it. How about working on their real problems? Is their biggest problem really which bathroom to use?

I think the bathroom fight is utterly ridiculous, and represents a whole new house.
I remember everyone else being in that bathroom together. Christina and Jessica having their chats on the ottoman in there, everyone putting their make up on together, and Lisa1 and TJ having time to get in a spat about TJ's real name. Everyone just seemed to accept that the big bathroom was for everyone! How many times did we witness Alison blowdrying that cut little red bob hair cut while having a conversation with someone.
Besides, how much later is Kelly planning on sleeping in the morning, once people start getting up and getting dressed. Probably not that long. I think Christina had to put up with Jill snoring every night.
One thing I do wonder about Kim is though - she's awfully busy around the house. If I could walk around a house as much as Kim, maybe I'd be trimmer too.

I believe the original 6+ HM's congregated in this larger bathroom, NuLisa(co-"owner"of the adjoining room)(I agree there's a hall entrance)was even a part of that ritual that Kim's just carrying on. Kim seems the type to wake up at the crack of dawn (before the camermen lol) and go about her bathroom traditions. Kelly can't tolerate anything from anyone that she doesn't like to begin with. Even if it's merely an early awakening HM using the master bathroom that she considers her own.
If a bathroom is known/considered to be free domain..than I don't think there's anything wrong with Kim taking advantage of it. If newcomer Kelly's gonna gripe about it and spoil the party than I suppose it's her prerogative..seems childish and

I just finished reading the long list of responces to this question and no one suggested that Kelly go and use Kims bathroom for showers and toilet use. If she wants the privacy being that everyone is in the big bathroom.
And from what I see there is only one entrance from the hallway into the bathroom and than there is that door that leads outside.
I personally would not like to use that bathroom for privacy, it seems to open and exposed. I would perfer one of the other bathrooms in the other rooms.

Yeah Cheesecake - I was wondering the same thing - why doesn't Kelly use the more private bathroom? When Kim wakes her up in the morning, Kelly could be assured that the small bathroom is free and could go over there and use it, in private. But no that would be a solution! Kelly does get fixated on things. Why does she think she can't have a shower. Doesn't she realize she's in a nice house, and not on the street or something?

Maybe the LC's should lock all the bathroom doors but one and make them all share it. Hey the Walton's only had one bathroom LOL. Better yet make them go outside and use an old coffee can to pee in like they had to many many years ago. They can take their bath in the pool and then we'll see if they learn to appreciate what they have! They all sound like ungrateful spoiled brats to me.

I had to laugh at Krazed Kim when she was lamenting today how tired she is of Kelly having issues with the bathroom. Now mind you Kim was saying this as she also moaned on some more about how she doesn't like the bathroom she has in her room and we've heard that for days now from Kim. Looks like she has the same sort of issues Kelly does yet feels she is justifed and Kelly isn't. Remeber last year when Kim 1 was uptight about the bedroom she got in the SOH because it wasn't big like she is used to at home? Wonder what they would have thought had Kim 1 decided to go sleep in someone else's room that was more like she was used to. Would that have been acceptable? I think not. Heck when she voiced her displeasure the LC's told her to basically get over it because that's how it is she got the room assigned to her and couldn't change it. Wish they'd tell Kim the same thing.

I think Kelly's territorial and she prefers that bathroom just like any of them would..it's obviously the best one. Otherwise she would have gone into a different one for her much needed 15 minutes of privacy. Such a petty thing to complain about IMO.

I thought the same thing when this whole thing came up. This would never have been allowed for Kim and Kim was really brought on the carpet for her entitlement issues and was really told off about it. However, as usual there are favored ones who get away with things and Kim seems to be a favored child.

Totally agree!!! Maybe "Kim should read the house rules" and maybe the LC's should go over them in group so that everyone will be clear about the do's and don'ts of "dorm life" which is exactly what it is. She's been dying to be the head of household from the day she set foot in the house.
Kim has "bamboozled the LC's" and is definitely favored by them. They need to break that hard-boiled egg.

There is a reason they always showed the first set of housemates using the "big bathroom". It's probably b/c the other's suck. Too small/dark and I'm sure the bathroom is the only place where the HG's can get some camera relief (privacy). If I wanted to get ready in the morning without a camera in my face- I'd run to a bathroom for sure- and if my bathroom sucked- I would definitly use the "community" bathroom which is NOW declared to be "Kelly's" only. I think it's funny that they talk about how it is the girls' house while they are there, but yet are required to use specific bathrooms?? What the "F". I don't just use one bathroom in my house. I use them all!

After all of the drama over Kim using the bathroom that Kelly declared as her own, I found it funny that when Jodi was getting ready to take a bath in there and asked if it was ok, Kelly says that it was fine because, "It's not my bathroom... it's only my bathroom when I need to take a shower at 8 in the morning."
